Hello community, I’m on the hunt for a stellar makeup artist who can do my makeup + two other members of wedding party on 9/26/26. Did you love your MUA? Did you attend a wedding where the bride looked BOMB? Would love to keep it at about $300 or less for bride and $200 or less for other bridal party members. Open to higher pricing if the person is exceptional. I’ve gained so much from this community so would love to hear your thoughts.
I also researched this sub and found several recommendations as well, but they’re mostly dated. Thank you for sharing!

Doing my own wedding makeup (CCW)
Hi!
As mentioned in the title i plan on doing my own makeup for my halloween wedding. I usually do something grungy. This is basically my daily makeup with more eyeshadow and glitter.
Looking at these pictures i think i should go for a darker or more brown tinted lip.

Need a better dupe for Colourpop Sleepy Eyes than MAC Stay Curious
Hi guys, I bought Mac’s hazy matte lipstick in Stay Curious after finding an old Reddit thread saying it was a strong dupe for the now-discontinued Colourpop Sleepy Eyes. I was disappointed that Stay Curious was much pinker than I was hoping. I have been looking at swatches for the past hour and I suspect the Hazy Matte version of MAC’s “Devoted to Chili” shade may be a better match? It’s got the warmer undertone I’m looking for. I swatched Sleepy Eyes (left) and Stay Curious (right) in natural light today so that you can see the difference in undertones. If you have any other recommendations I’m very open. Sleepy Eyes seems almost impossible to replace and it’s a perfect red for me. Thank you!

Mixing Pallet usage
Hello! I am currently studying to be a makeup artist. I’m trying to learn as much as I can about being hygiene/sanitary. When it comes to mixing pallets I tend to run out of space. what would be the best way to reset the pallet during a client or should I have multiple pallets. I am also using full sized blending brushes to pick up products, should I switch to using smaller flat brushes to pick up and apply product and then use a blending brushes to blend it? BRIDES BEWARE Extremely unprofessional experience with Manveen Kaur, Dehradun
I booked **Manveen Kaur (Dehradun)** SIX months in advance for my wedding, paid the advance, and had my booking confirmed. She then changed the terms and conditions **two months after I booked her**, and when I refused to accept terms that were never communicated to me initially, she **cancelled my booking just TWO months before my wedding.**
It honestly felt like she got another booking closer to Dehradun for the same date and decided travelling wasn’t worth it when she could make the same money locally. I can’t know her exact reasoning, but that’s exactly how it came across.
What made it worse was the gaslighting instead of taking accountability for cancelling a confirmed booking.
**Extremely unprofessional and incredibly stressful for a bride. Please think twice before booking her and get EVERYTHING in writing before paying an advance.**
