Any childless couples want to hang?

Hi, all! My husband (39) and I (33) are looking to make friends in the Nashua/Southern NH area! We are childless by choice and hoping to connect with other couples on that same journey/path. We love being foodies, learning to play pickleball, bike riding, reading, watching docs, cooking, taking walks, trying new food places/breweries, etc.

Just looking to connect and hang/find activities to do!

Edited to add: Husband works in finance and I’m a middle school teacher in case anyone has similar jobs to connect on! 😂

If you're the person with the white Subaru SUV with the following bumper stickers, we should be friends.

Okay, this is very silly, but on my morning commute into Nashua I frequently end up behind a white SUV with bumper stickers that say "I'm not like other girls, I'm an actual worm;" "Man, I feel like a worman;" "Protect Trans Youth," and "Sorry about my driving, I'm contemplating my mortality," and they always make me laugh. So whoever you are, if you see this, you are awesome and I feel like we'd be friends if we ever met!

Trivia at Spyglass Brewing

I (38m) am looking to start doin Wednesday trivia there but I dont have any non work friends to join me :( When I was younger a wise old man told me it was dangerous to go alone, so Im here in search of teammates and maybe future friends. Ive got a wide reach of knowledge but it is not all encompassing. If your interested in meeting new people(though it may be scary), showing off your smarts, and winning some gift cards(how else are you gonna pay for your Apple refund or antivirus, Andrew from Cleveland really needs those gift cards) and are free at 6 on Wednesdays let me know. Or if youve got a team with an open spot let me know too, just in case no one here likes me.

Anyone have a good handyman recommendation for northern Nashua?

I'm moving to Nashua in about a month, and I'm looking for a handyman who can help out with a couple of minor things in the house before we move in so that I don't have to hire a full on plumber and carpenter and contractor.

I've lived in Manchester the past 10 years so I do know the area, but not well enough to know who to trust in my new home. So who do you all trust?

Looking for people to play Badminton near Nashua

Hello,

I'm a working professional (23M) staying in southern Nashua. I used to play badminton for fun back when I was in India, but couldn't find people to play with after coming here. I'm a beginner to intermediate level player, open to playing with players at all levels. If you're already playing or interested in playing, feel free to DM me. Thanks!

Animator seeking creative/nerdy friends

I've been solo developing a really large 3D/2D animated project over the past few years and all this seclusion is making me feel like a castaway. After heated arguement with my volleyball I come to the conclusion that I could use some REAL friends for a change. I'm the kind of guy who loves nerdy things, (old school games, movies, comics, anime) if it suspends your disbelief, I'm into it. If you're an artist of any kind or technical artist like a programmer or whatever else, you're automatically at the top of my list. Creation can be laborious and lonely, let's goof off and enjoy the the process.

Hidden Gem / Underrated Restaurants

Hello,

I am moving to Nashua and am having so much fun looking at all the dining options - of all sorts lunch and dinner and coffee and bars, everything! I was wondering if there are any food or drink suggestions that I might not be focused in on based just on scrolling around on Apple Maps and reading reviews.

Example, I can tell that I am going to like peddlers daughter and oddfellows, but how about some of the more *random* places? Example can I actually get a good burger and fries at “smash shack burgers” ? What’s the best junky Chinese take out? There are a million pizza places, what’s your go to? I love a fried chicken sandwich - chicken and biscuit USA? gate city casino looks interesting

Idk. Looking for any suggestions from locals who might have a little more insight than what I can find my zooming around on Apple Maps.

Anything that comes to mind anywhere in Nashua or surrounding towns, let me know! Thanks. Any food or drinks you’ve been to recently and want to give a shout out to, this is the spot

Junk removal

I’m starting a small junk removal business servicing southern NH and northern Mass. Does anyone know a reliable dump or transfer station that accepts commercial loads from different towns without a lot of hassle? Mainly household junk and furniture. Thank you in advance!

Has anyone heard of this stereo receiver? Planar SR 2040

I picked up this stereo receiver today from Facebook Marketplace. The seller said it had never been used and had never been taken out of the box, so it’s basically new old stock. I’ve been trying to find information on the model, but there seems to be very little online. Does anyone here recognize it or know anything more about Planar as a manufacturer?

Wall antenna recommendation

I'm looking for a reliable wall antenna that ideally gets CBS and Fox for NFL games this season. Any suggestions? Not sure if those towers are too far from Nashua or not.

Looking for a patient, supportive driving mentor in the Nashua area

I'm looking for someone who might be a good fit to help a young adult build confidence and independence with driving. They know how to drive but have some anxiety around it, so I'm looking for someone who is exceptionally patient, encouraging, calm, and comfortable taking things slowly.

Ideally, I'm imagining more of a big brother/big sister type of person who could spend some time driving together, practicing familiar routes, errands, parking, gradually expanding comfort, etc. — someone who enjoys mentoring and helping a young person gain confidence.

This isn't really about traditional driver's ed or a disability program. I'm looking for someone warm, grounded, and encouraging who might be willing to do this on an ongoing paid basis.

If anyone knows someone who comes to mind, I'd be very grateful for a PM. Nashua/Amherst/Merrimack/Hudson/Windham area preferred.

Moving to Nashua. Any recommendations for apartments?

Me and my significant other are moving to Nashua. We've lived in NH before up in Dover about 2 years ago, moved to a different state, and heading back to NH due to a nice job offer. The job is in Nashua by the airport. Although we lived in the state and one of us grew up in NH, we never spent much time in the southern portion of the state. What would be some areas to look into for apartments that are within 30 minute drive of the city? hoping for rent to be around 1,800 - 2,200 range.

Love NHPR? Hate NHPR? We want to hear it.

Hey r/concordnh!

Is your car automatically set to 89.1 FM? Or…do you make it a point to avoid our station?

Either way, we want to know why. Take this quick, 5-minute survey and tell us how we can do better and what you need from local news in New Hampshire.

If you take the survey, you’ll have a chance to win a $100 gift card to a gas station or grocery store of your choice. (We’ll randomly pick 10 winners from all of the respondents!)

One more important note: We won’t share your responses outside of NHPR, and we won’t sell your information to outside parties.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us — your voice will help us better serve this whole state.

Renting in Nashua

Hi there -

I’m moving from Providence to Nashua and would like to avoid renting in a big apartment building complex so to speak.

Any recommendations for finding apartments in actual houses / independent landlord listings?

Thank you

Appliance repair in Nashua

I have an old dishwasher that needs attention. It's at least 20 years old, so it may need to be replaced, but I would like to keep it going if possible. Does anyone have any positive experiences with appliance repair people that really try to fix things instead of just sell you a new one?
