Looking for the Best Non-Denominational Churches and Steakhouses in South OC

I’m a tattoo artist from Colorado and I’ll be coming down to guest spot at Vatican Studios in Lake Forest about every 6 weeks or so moving forward. I’m looking to build a solid list of places around Lake Forest, Irvine, and South OC in general. Main things I’m looking for: • Strong non-denominational churches • Best steak spots • Best seafood spots • Hidden gems/local favorites Would love recommendations from locals on places worth checking out regularly while I’m down there tattooing. Appreciate you all in advance.

Restaurant Ideas for Hosting 25 ppl

Hi I am looking for a restaurant that can accommodate 20-25 people. Any recommendations, it can be in Irvine/Newport.

Problem is, it has to be on a weekday (not Friday) evening.

I want something upscale, nice.

Life in Newport Beach

Hey all. I’m curious to hear if Newport Beach would be a good spot to move to and raise a family. What are the people like, the general politics, the food scene. My wife and I visited a friend in Corona Del Mar walking distance to the beach and it was incredible and we did some shopping at Fashion Island but haven’t explored much beyond that. Are people pretty accepting of new families coming in? We’ve looked at quite a few houses online on Balboa Island that look nice as well. Thanks!

Recommendations: Sancerre or the Summit Gated Communities (Why So Much Inventory?!)

Hello,

I am in the process of looking for my next place and have been searching high and low for a decent spot, and keep seeing a lot of availability at "The Summit", and to a lesser extent, "Sancerre", which are right next to each other. I've toured a few of the spots and they look good but I am wondering why there is such a plethora of inventory when it seems everywhere else is not available? Has anyone lived here, or can provide any insight?

Thanks!

Looking for testers for matchmaking form

UPDATE 5/12: We’re currently at 31 submissions: 17 men and 14 women. Thank you to everyone who has participated so far. I’m going to leave the form open through the rest of the week before closing submissions and running the first test round.

Quick clarification: you must be in Orange County to participate in this first round. Expanding beyond OC may be considered for future rounds.

Good day, OC singles.

I’m testing a small curated matchmaking system for this sub before deciding whether it should become a regular feature.

This is not a dating app, swipe system, or public profile database. The idea is to use a private form to screen for major compatibility issues, then send a small number of curated suggestions if there are reasonable matches.

For this first test, I’m looking for around 20 to 30 volunteers. You would fill out the form, get potential suggestions if there are compatible matches, and then give feedback to the mods afterward.

A few notes:

• Filling out the form does not guarantee a match.
• You will not be publicly listed or browsed.
• A connection only happens if both people select each other.
• This is meant to reduce obvious mismatches while still leaving room for actual chemistry.
• If something looks unsafe, unclear, or inappropriate, it will not be sent.

The form takes about 10 to 15 minutes. It is longer than typical dating questionnaires because this is meant to be more intentional and crafted.

If you’re interested in helping test it, comment here or message the mods.

Newport coast elementary

Does anyone here have thoughts about Newport coast elementary? I would send my child there for TK. Some reviews I saw on a school ratings website were quite bad - mentioning lack of community. I understand all the public schools in this area have affluent families and low diversity, but I’d still like my kid to feel comfortable around the other kids (and for me too as a parent)

3 kids and 6 grandkids. Buying standup freezers for the steaks to feed the grand boys.

Family farm in North Dakota. Some land in Indiana.

On the island but hang at either wedge or 10th tower.

Divorced 13 years ago and in retrospect that was a mistake. Fell into the Newport scene and became weak.

Have a few businesses but meeting “normal” people doesn’t happen.

lol. Dating scene. Gulfstream? Flemmings? Quiet woman? Eloquent desperation it seems.

Seems tough to just find someone to sit on a tower and watch the tide roll in.

Not lonely. Just wondering where the normal people are?

Old rugby guy. So not lookin for a boyfriend or an escort.

Floating island in front of Lido?

Does anyone know what that big floating platform in the middle of the harbor is? If you’re looking out from Lido it’s a big platform with fake grass and chairs on it! Looks cool!

I did search the subreddit and I did see some relevant posts but not as helpful.

I’m looking for apartments in the area but not necessarily the luxury apartments. The problem I’m running into is the apartment listings look great but then I check the ratings on google and yelp and they are terrible. They either have issues with pests or mold. I also see a lot about poor management but that’s less of a concern. However, the mold and pests are a deal breaker.

Can anyone recommend any apartments or private rentals that don’t have pests or mold issues?

For more context it’s just me and my two dogs. So I’m considering studio or 1 bedroom. I don’t want roommates. And my budget is flexible but I want something reasonable so preferably below 3K. I also know this is Newport and it’s incredibly expensive so the pickings are slim.

Thank you in advance!
