I've never been a WoW guy, but the whole hype around WoW Forever got me quite jealous.

Now imagine for a second that we had a New World Forever, with a much slower leveling experience so you could enjoy every bit of side questing and there is life in each town including low level ones. Where crafting and gathering plays a huge role even at low levels. And you take your time leveling up and build up your forever character.

The end game has always been NWs weakest point but the main quest line and the first time leveling has been magnificent. I know over the years they sped up leveling quite a bit and it did help them get more players, but I'd have loved a slow and steady version of the game.

Hey, I enjoy the combat in New World a lot. The choices, the weight, and generally moving around. Is there a similar open world game with such combat? I tried other MMOs but those are mostly floaty, or tab target, very different. And I tried soulslikes, but those are too hard for me, at least Nioh 2 and Elden Ring were in this category. I am not sure what game is the most similar in combat feel, so if you know any, can you please give me some suggestions?

I better start saving up for the black friday and xmas sales, now that this game will go away in Jan :(

I know a lot of you have bid your farewells to New World, never to turn back. But the memories have never left, we have the chance to experience a little bit of it again before it’s completely gone from our lives forever.

I remember playing the beta and one year later, the day of release, the waiting queue was torture, but that’s memories. The crowded starting point, friends starting in the wrong servers, the aesthetic sounds of trees falling and rocks being hit.

I think one last giant get together is demanded before its out of our lives. Its been a year since the announcement. Let’s get on there and meet each other, meet the heroes that traveled the islands of Aeternum.

If I was to start replaying after having played maybe 10-15 hours on a character, would I be able to get all the achievements before the servers shut down? If somehow a private server is made, would I be able to obtain the achievements even after the official servers have closed?

Nothing else to add just absolutely gutted that I can't play this game anymore so frustrating that game switch much smaller player numbers manage to stay alive.

Hey guys,

Since the game is shutting down in January, my wife and I decided to jump in tomorrow to experience it before it's gone.

We're going in 100% blind (the only thing we looked up were our archetypes) (Destroyer x occultist)

We just want to take our time, finish the main story, and enjoy finding cool loot. (We'll Play for about 90-100hours /120h max before the game ends)

Quick question for the veterans though: should we completely avoid the trading post?

We're worried the economy is so endgame-focused right now that low-level gear and mats are dirt cheap. Will buying stuff just ruin the progression and the fun of getting drops? Would you recommend we just play "self-found" and farm/craft everything ourselves for the best experience?

Or is there a good balance?

What would you do to get the absolute most out of the game in these final months If you were starting fresh right now?
