Nord Stage 4: Saving Favorite Sounds

I'm a novice jazz pianist and scroll through the different programs, often finding ones that I like. I'll jam on a sound and then scroll through a handful and find another one I like. What's the best way to make 'favorite' preset programs easily accessible when you're playing?

Need some simple and easy help, kinda quickly

Long story short, my keyboard (Roland 88) shit the bed this week, of course as my band is approaching one of our biggest gigs ever, tonight.

They’re setting me up big time with a grand piano on stage, I’ll be bringing my small Hammond xk1c, and I’ll be using their Nord stage 2 for the rest.

I really only need 3 sounds. EP (closest to Rhodes) a clav (closest to the real deal) and a back up piano (incase I’m not digging the acoustic grand in the mix)

I’ve never used a Nord, and I’m not in front of the instrument. We have plenty of time for load in and sound check, but I’m nervous that I won’t be ble to find and save what I need.

I’m not too technical with these interfaces usually, but I’m also not picky.

I just need some guidance on how to find those three sounds, and save them to presets so I can switch through those sounds live on stage tonight.

I’ve watched some videos and read the manual, but I’m still nervous and intimidated

Feel free to message me or just point me in the right direction!

How to verify authenticity of stage 4?

Hey guys, I bought a nord stage 4 recently for $3500 it’s in good condition. The seller said he really needed the money for his move, so he sold it to me for a low price.

How can I verify the authenticity?

NS4 and gigging (weight and stand)

Looking for some experienced advice/ opinions on the NS4 and gigging.

I recently got a Nord Stage 4 and LOVE it (moving from a Yamaha p45 so major upgrade) the only thing I’m struggling with at the minute is oh my gawd this thing is HEAVY [or it may just be that I’m 100% not used to its weight and size yet]

Anyways. I’m wondering how you guys navigate shows with the NS4. I have the soft case with wheels which is great on flat surfaces but as soon as I reach a flight of stairs (and I’m currently on the toilet tour circuit so there’s a lot of very interesting versions of load-in ‘stairs’) I’m at a loss. There’s no shoulder or back straps on the case so I’m wondering if it’s just a ‘suck it up’ kind of thing or there’s some advice a seasoned owner could offer.

Second thing is. I have the leg stand for it (the ones that screw into the bottom of the keyboard). Love the look and awesome for having at home but it seems a right faff every time I travel with it and when setting up at shows, can anyone recommend a decent X stand that can be used for this? (Also, while I’m here. The metal bars that go between the back two legs. How bad for the gear would it really be if every so often I didn’t attach them)

Organ Glissando Effect on Nord Stage 4

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone know if this sort of organ glissando is possible on the NS4 (or any Nord keyboard) https://youtu.be/HkEknGcrR-E?si=aTPrGq0HEJWKsgQW&t=9

In my experience glissing on a Nord sounds more like a literal glissando of all of the notes and not this type of effect. I'm curious if it's possible to recreate at all.

Thanks!

Does my new NS4 have a defective keybed?

I recently received my new Nord Stage 4. I’m coming from a Yamaha background, and I’ve noticed that the sound the Nord’s keys make when released feels quite different.

When I press a key fully down and let it snap back up, it produces noticeably more noise compared to my Yamaha. This seems to happen on almost every key, which makes me think it might just be how the instrument is designed rather than a defect.

I also tried a demo unit in a store, and it seemed to have a similar noise when the keys were released more aggressively.

Is this normal behavior for Nord keyboards, or could mine be faulty?
