I want to get some t shirts hemmed up a few inches at the bottom and am hoping someone could help give me a recommendation on a tailor in or close-ish to north park! Any recs are appreciated.

Turn around time is not important, would be nice if the price is reasonable. Used to go to L&A tailoring for years but they closed a bit ago.

I saw a post on Nextdoor regarding an accident that happened at 32nd and Landis. Someone commented that the police told them that a car struck a pedestrian. I can’t find the post and I haven’t seen anything else about it. Does anyone know what happened?

Just wanted to put out a quick public service announcement so nobody else wastes their morning: There is NO outdoor public viewing or street festival for the World Cup Final happening on 30th Street in North Park today.

​If you’ve seen recent articles, event aggregators, or AI search results pointing to a massive outdoor watch party hosted by North Park Main Street and SoccerCity today from 7 AM to 2 PM, it is a ghost link.

​What happened is that North Park Main Street still has an old page live on their website from the 2018 World Cup Final (which also happened on a Sunday in July). AI web scrapers and automated event sites have been pulling that old data and publishing it as if it's happening today, Sunday, July 19th, 2026.

​I just walked 30th Street up and down—there are no barricades, no stages, and zero event setups. It's just a normal Sunday morning.

​Where to go instead:

If you still want to watch the match in North Park, the local indoor bars on 30th like Bluefoot Bar (the neighborhood soccer staple) or Fairplay will absolutely have the game on at noon, but expect them to be packed inside. If you want an actual massive outdoor festival or official fan zone today, you’ll need to head to Progress Park downtown (the French Market watch party) or the official San Diego FC celebration down at Southwestern College in Chula Vista.

​Don't waste your gas driving down to 30th expecting a street closure. Spread the word!

I want to do some improvements on my place. Does anyone have a contractor they recommend? On the flip sides is there anyone I should absolutely avoid?

Who else feels like your held hostage due to the parking issues?, I don't leave my house sometimes due to the parking.

Or street sweeping days, not enough parking for everybody, it's like your forced to get ticketed sometimes.

Hi everyone! I’m moving to San Diego from the bay area (28 f) and I’m most interested in north park, university heights and normal heights neighborhoods.
As someone who’s renting for the first time, I’m curious to know - what are your experiences with living in luxury apartments vs the older apartments you’d find on Zillow? I’m considering buildings like the Nash/Parkline North Park/Brickhouse but reviews about poor management, thin walls, etc scare me a little… Going to the gym daily is routine for me which is why I’m considering luxury buildings, but I absolutely don’t mind living in an older apartment if it’s within minutes walk to a gym.
I’m also very interested in the boutique type apt buildings that offer lofts, but I guess I don’t know what to expect with these?

Would love to know your experiences with living in either luxury buildings / older apts with charm / boutique apts!!

Renters applying in Pacific Beach / North Park / downtown SD right now — genuine question. When a landlord says “apply and I’ll pick the most qualified,” do you usually just apply anyway, even knowing you might not get it? Or do you try to gauge your odds first?

I’ve paid application fees to places I never heard back from, and I’m trying to figure out if that’s just accepted as “the cost of doing business” in competitive spots, or if it actually bothers people. Curious how others think about this — especially if you’re applying to multiple places at once right now.

Hey all! I’m (25m) living in North Park and trying to make some friends, but I’m really struggling to find social spaces outside of going out drinking (which is tons of fun, don’t get me wrong, but not a great place for solid friendships). I’ve been on the hunt for clubs of really any kind to join, or social spaces or anything like that where people connect at, and I’m curious if you guys have any suggestions! I love artsy stuff, but I can really get down with any crowd so.
