Go ahead, ignore your oyster bucket… [gourmet]

I got distracted by a back yard construction project and didn’t open my MicoSphere for a week. This is what grew. The snow oyster is a little past prime but still good. One cluster was 1.64 lbs by itself. The blue oyster is a second flush. Anyone have better luck getting more flushes out of oyster buckets? Should I soak them?

How long does it take to start fruiting? Am I doing something wrong? Explanation below⏬

It’s been almost two weeks, and so far I only have a small pinhead forming.

I placed micropore tape over the slit to allow for cleaner fresh air exchange. Was that the correct thing to do, or should I have left it alone?

My temperature has been fluctuating between 73°F and 79°F with the air conditioning running.

What could be causing it to take this long to fruit? Should I be concerned about the excess moisture or water inside the bag?

Has anyone else experienced this with a ShroomTek bag? In your experience, how long did it take before you started seeing fruits?

I finally did it!

I'm curous to hear how people feel about this mushroom. Do you y'all have any experience growing it?

This is from a couple days ago and it's gotten huge. I'll post pics or a vid of that soon.

First timer, do these grow bags look contaminated?

First time growing! I inoculated these bags with 5cc LC 8 days ago. The first bag’s colonization seems pretty aggressive and healthy to me, but the other bag has a wet looking spot that has me paranoid about bacteria. Do these look healthy so far or am I missing signs of contamination? And if so, what can I do next?

AIO BAGS

How do the AIO bags look when fully colonized and ready to fruit? Completely covered like the grain bags? Or is bag ready to fruit?

Ready to send?

I inoculated on 4/28 and did a B&S on 5/10. Used a liquid culture PE. Ready for a monotub or would you hold off? This is my first grow for reference

Hello I inoculated my £34.99 2kg bag from shiny spores (pre-mixed) with b+ double density cubensis spores I'm on day 20 today the day before the 3 week mark, I first saw a tiny spot of mycelium on one ball of grain near the top of the substrate close to the inoculation port this is the mycelium today it has grew a lot since the 15th there is no growth anywhere else there is a tiny bit of condensation coming out the left side of the substrate (tiny) shows the mycelium is getting to work in the middle. Could someone give me timeframes as this is my first grow I'm happy to get to this stage!😄

NEED HELP!!

Hey so this is my first grow and everything has gone perfect thus far. I just need to know if I have enough substrate…. Friday the 15th I split a 10 pound bulk substrate between the two (500gs vermiculite, 500gs coco coir, and 100gs gypsum). I mixed in two fully colonized 3 pound grain bags. It just doesn’t look like enough substrate to me. Please let me know if I’m tripping or if I need to fix it and how????

Black King mushrooms growing in the garden (timelapse)

Black King mushrooms are a hybrid variety that crosses blue oysters with king trumpets, resulting in a mushroom with notably dense, meaty flesh and a rich, savory flavor.

They're well suited to outdoor cultivation, preferring cool, shaded spots with consistent humidity - conditions that are easy to create in many home gardens, particularly under tree cover or along north-facing beds. Our Plant & Grow Mushroom Starter Blocks are designed to be buried directly in the ground, where the surrounding soil helps regulate moisture and temperature during early fruiting stages. Compared to other oyster varieties, Black Kings require a bit more attention and patience but they compensate with larger, more substantial fruiting bodies and a texture that holds up well to roasting, sautéing, and grilling.
