NYC Family Welcome Centers

So my family has moved back to PA from NYC like 2 times on the past like 2 years and we are moving back to NYC like late this month or early next month. We are trying to move before school starts and im going into sophomore year. I have lived in NYC my whole life, its just family keeps moving because of my dad's job.

And now the part that is bothering me is.. I know I have to get enrolled into a highschool through the family welcome center and I have some schools in mind but idk how they work like does it depend of availability through seating? Or what? And I know I won't get into any super good highschool but can I get into a semi decent one at least? Since I have records here previously.

Also I forgot to mention I did like 2 and a half ish months of my freshman year of highschool before moving to PA.

Yeah that's all I think, uh I just need someone to help me out by answering my questions that's all.

NYC High School Students: What Has Your Experience With Mental Health Support Been Like? Survey request!

Hello everyone! I'm a NYC student who is working on an investigative journalism project about how NYC's student mental health system is designed and how students experience that system.

I'm especially interested in questions like: Do students truly feel understood by the systems designed to support them? What happens when someone doesn't know where to seek help, or doesn't feel comfortable asking? And mainly, where are the gaps between system design and student experience?

I made an anonymous survey to hear directly from NYC high school students. It takes about 15–25 minutes, and you can skip any question you don't want to answer. The survey does NOT collect any data or personal information. Please don't share personal or identifying information in the comments.

If you are a current NYC student and would like to participate, I would greatly appreciate it.

NYC Public School Confusion

My family is moving to NYC and I'd like my PREK aged son to enroll in a dual language program. Specifically P.S. 145 in Manhattan. I am completely confused about the public school enrollment process. Is there somewhere I can learn how to get him enrolled or on a list? Do I have to enroll him where we're living? We haven't settled on a neighborhood because of this schooling confusion. Any help would be so very much appreciated.

EDIT: My son is 4 years old. Starting, what I assume, would be Pre K in September.
