Steam gameplay lags

I’m new to streaming on the PC. I originally was using OBS on my Mac with my PS5 and had everything working. Now I’m trying to stream some Stream gameplay. I’m getting settle lags. Got a log but not sure how to read it. I understand the audio monitoring error. Didn’t have my mixer plugged in.

Masking the same source for different scenes

How in the "blip" do I mask my camera in one scene and not in the other?

I do Pokémon TCG YouTube, and I want to be able to have a scene with my face/body in one scene (got that), and a scene with my Pokémon product with a small circle-ish frame with my face/body in it. How do I do that?

OBS Recording my Microphone way lower than shown.

Pretty much the title. When speaking in OBS I have it set not to go over the red bar with a limiter. I also have the gain turned up so my microphone hits just at the -12db bar.

My game audio is limited to -30db or -35db. So I know there is a pretty big gap between Microphone and Game Audio but in the recording you can barely hear my voice at all. So I wanted to ask what settings I should look at to fix this. I used the recommended settings for recording when I installed OBS.

Auto Exposure Issue

I have been using an Emeet S600 Webcam for OBS when I stream to Twitch. Auto Exposure is always at -5 which is bright and when I uncheck the box, It is way too dark. My lighting is good but I can’t uncheck the box and I feel I have to, I’m trying to make sure my webcam doesn’t become pixelated whilst I stream as I’m aware sometimes it does. Mostly when it gets bright or there’s a lot going on in game.
I’ve tried to add in filters to brighten my camera and it looks so washed out. If I try setting the exposure myself, it is too dark and it is way too laggy. I’m not sure how to fix this. I’ve used the camera software, OBS. I’ve tried using different usb ports, consider me stressed at this point. I don’t know what to do or how to fix this

Obs + GTA FiveM = /scenes showing as black rectangles

So I’ve recently come into an issue where in the fivem game I’m seeing scenes (written text placed around the map by players) fine and having no issue but when it’s sent to OBS the rectangle of the full potential scene shows for the capture only.

Attempted fixes
Emptied both cashes
Changed extended texture budget
Made a new capture source in obs

Nothing has worked

If pictures are requested for examples and specs please ask

No sound on OBS while connected to PS5. I've tried everything I know but nothing works.

I have an Elgato HD60 X and it's connected to the PS5.
I also have and done the following.

  • Updated to the latest version on the 4K Capture Utility.
  • Made sure to set audio from HDMI to Analogue on the 4K Capture Utility software.
  • I got a new Chatlink Pro cable with the groundloop isolator turned on.
  • The headset is a wired headset (Astro A10) and it's connected well to the Chatlink Pro cable. I can hear the game audio no issues on it.
  • HDCP on the PS5 is turned off of course.
  • PS5 Audio is set to controller headset and still no sound on OBS. I tried HDMI but not working as well.
  • I got the Video Capture device set to HD60 X and it shows the stream no issues.
  • Desktop Audio is set to laptop headphones connected via wiring (It's NOT the Astro A10 connected to the Chat link Pro and it's a different headphone).
  • Mic/Aux is set to HD60 X.
  • Audio output capture is set to Laptop speakers (My monitor has no built in speakers).
  • Audio input capture is renamed to "HD60 X audio" and it's set to Elgato HD60 X. No sound from there at all.
  • All audio channels are set to "Monitor and Output).
  • On the Global Audio setting, my Sample rate is 48 kHZ. Desktop Audio is the laptop headphones (NOT the one connected to the Chatlink Pro since its a different one).
  • Again on the Global Audio setting Desktop Audio 2 is disabled.
  • The Mic/Auxiliary audio is set to the HD60 X.
  • Mic/Auxiliary audio on 2, 3 and 4 are disabled.

I would also add that all my Audio Mixer is NOT producing any sound despite setting them to the HD60 X capture card.

I need help because no matter what I do nothing seems to work and my stream produces no sound on OBS. I can hear the game through my headset no issues but the sound isn't on OBS.

Live sports, choose from 2-4 camera angles: how to setup OBS

I'm streaming roller derby to YouTube. I have anywhere between 1-4 camera angles and operators and I'd like to be able to choose from which ever camera angle is the best at the moment.

Also it would be cool to be able to throw up some other generated stat pages in a web browser.

What's gotten me close to this is Studio Mode where the live stream is on the right. Then on left I create a scene with 1/4 sized camera angles. But: I haven't been able to get the layout of those 1/4 sized layers to work right. They keep getting all wonky and un-selectable or gone or buried.

Game Capture not working on Ultrawide (21:9) screen (shows black screen / won't detect game)

Hi all,

I'm a OBS user and I'm having trouble setting up my stream.

I am trying to add my game as a source, but the "Game Capture" tool isn't working at all. It doesn't detect the game or just displays a black screen. It worked well for a time, but suddenly it doesn’t anymore. I really want to avoid using "Display Capture" (entire screen) because of privacy reasons (I don't want to accidentally leak sensitive background information or notifications while streaming).

Any one got this issue ?

Thanks !

OBS + Zoom setup help: How to record clean lectures with live drawings, but hide student info?

Hey guys!

I teach live classes on Zoom, but I want to simultaneously record a "clean" version in OBS to use as VOD course material later—ideally with zero editing.

Here’s the goal for the OBS recording:

  • Video: Only my lecture slides. No Zoom UI, chat, or student faces/names.
  • Audio: Only my mic. Desktop audio(student voice) needs to be completely muted in the recording.

Here’s my biggest roadblock:

I annotate and draw a lot while I teach. I realized that if I use Zoom’s built-in annotation tool, the drawings don't show up in the OBS Window Capture because it only grabs the presentation window, not the Zoom overlay.

I want to avoid the nightmare of having to re-record or manually add drawings back in post-production.

Questions

How do you guys handle this?

Is there a specific workflow or plugin combo that allows a true "one take" clean recording with realtime drawings?

I wrote this post hoping to get some help with your ideas or if there are any OBS plugins that might work.

Any advice would be a lifesaver.

Thanks! |:-)

Display capture problem for music production

So when i use game capture to record my Ableton for music video purpose, the video is crisp and sharp. I would use game capture but i have to use display capture because its what i have to use to be able to see my plugins in my recoding but it makes everything blurry. any ideas ?

The only thing ive noticed is that when i use game capture i have to "resize ouput (source size)" (it goes to 1920x986) because somehow it appears bigger than my "display capture" on obs preview. Only when i do this, the game capture gets crisp.

When i record with display capture :

i record in 1920x1080. 60 fps no downscaling

ive tried every bitrate possible and video encoder. im now with 60 000kbps

Ive tried recording with the lossless quality, still blurry

Ive just used the snippin tool on windows to record my screen and its even worse somehow.

wizard tool doesnt fix it

canvas and ouput is the same 1920x1080

The window preview when i use display capture is crisp. but the final file isnt.

3070ti

ryzen 7 5800x

32 ram

3 monitor

all 1080p

Every video says "its easy just do this" well for me nothing works.

lmk if you guys find a way or need the logs.

any help welcome thank you.

Looking for an uncompressed 1080p60 HDMI capture card

Does anyone know of a HDMI capture card (USB or PCIe) without chroma subsampling (e.g. YUV 4:4:4 or RGB 24bit) up to 1080p60? It's hard to find any reliable information about subsampling, but it appears that pretty much all "cheap-ish" consumer-grade cards in this segment (such as AVerMedia Live Gamer HD 2 or Elgato HD 60 Pro) do subsampling (either 4:2:2 or 4:2:0). I know it doesn't matter for streaming, but my primary use case is local presentation, such as switching between different PC sources, where I'd like to retain the original quality of the HDMI source without subsampling. Does such a thing even exist (preferrably "on the cheap") aside from SDI and professional stuff?

Audio Tracks Issue HELP!

Hello!

Im new to Streaming and Have been having some issues! So, i stream and record at the same time. I do have every audio seperated for Twitch Vod, and Recording. I've been using the Source Record Plugin to just record Gameplay with my Voice, No Stream Overlay No Music No Discord. And it work, but when i try to seperate Audio Tracks it wont. I tried turning on Only Gameplay Audio and it works, Just Mic/Aux Audio and It works. So it does Seperate the tracks, it's just when editing it wont give me the option. I use CapCut as an editor and MKV or MP4 as and video file. So there should't been an issue.

Track splitting dual pc Wavelink (stream deck +) /elgato 4k

Hello! I currently am using a stream deck plus and an elgato 4k, both hooked to my gaming pc sending the audio through the elgato 4k to my streaming pc.

Is their a way that i can split the tracks on the streaming pc so i can have my music playing on my streams but not have them saved on my vods

I understand i can play my music on my streaming pc instead but then i have to wear a second headset and that can be an audio nightmare especially with my mic.

I want to take the elgato 4k audio and split the tracks on the streaming pc. the only option i have audio wise though on obs is just the 4k without any way to split that i can visually see

bad PS5 recording quality on OBS using 2022 Macbook air

I'm currently working on a passion project where I need some footage of video games for b-roll. I bought an elgato capture card and downloaded obs and have been trying to follow tutorials so I can get the best quality of footage. The switch 2 footage that I got looks pretty alright but games on the PS5 look low quality. I'm using a 2022 Macbook air which I'm fully aware comes with it's downsides but its what I've got for college and probably the best I can get rn. I'm wondering if there are any setting that I can tweak or adjust that'll help the PS5 footage come out looking a little bit better? I'm like insanely new to all of this so I apologize in advance for my ignorance and all advice is welcome. Thanks!

New Streamer trying to dial in audio setup

CURRENT SETUP

This lets me hear/talk in game, capture the game audio with voice chat, and mute my mic in game. but i have to use a separate microphone to talk for my stream, and I cannot hear my computer audio. I am hoping to get a setup more like this, but don't know what the central audio device would be.

TARGET SETUP

I want to eliminate the headset mic while still being able to mute my mic in game using the button on the controller, and i need to be able to hear the audio from both the xbox and the computer in my IEM's so i can hear alerts without having them play through speakers and be picked up on the mic.

any advice on what that "AUDIO HUB" device would be? I was looking at GOXLR but i found that the software is not going to be supported anymore so afraid to invest in one if it wont work forever.

Webcam Flickers

For the past week I’ve been trying to figure out what the problem is with my webcam. I’ve went to OBS on Discord and haven’t been able to fix my problem.
I use an EMeet S600 webcam and it works on my pc but when I stream, it flickers white. I’ve tried changing USBs, same problem. I’ve went into properties and selected 1080p because I stream 1080p despite it being able to go up to 4k. My Bitrate is 6000kbps as that’s what my OBS configured was my best settings.
Has anyone else had the issue where the camera flickers and no matter what you do within OBS, port you change it to, it isn’t working right?
I was asked to download a usb viewer and screenshot it which I did and my webcam doesn’t seem to appear anywhere on my list.

I have an HP Victus 15L Gaming Desktop - AMD Ryzen 5, GTX 1660 Super, 512 GB SSD

4 USB ports in the back
- Elgato HD60 Capture Card
- EMeet S600 Webcam
-HyperX Mic
-StreamDeck

In the front I have 4 USB ports and 1 Type C port
- Wireless Headset Dongle
- Wireless Mouse & Keyboard Dongle

Should I consider getting a USB Hub to see if this will help or what should I do??

The webcam also sometimes became slightly pixelated, especially when it was bright or a lot happening in game. It didn’t look great and I thought maybe it was exposure. Mine has always been auto on ~5 but when I disable the auto, it’s so dark and regardless where I slide it to, it is so so laggy, it’s awful

Aitum Vertical Plugin Hotkeys Not Saving In OBS

I’m using OBS with the Aitum Vertical plugin and I’m having an issue specifically with the “Aitum Vertical Switch to Scene” hotkeys.

The hotkeys work perfectly while OBS is open, but the moment I fully close and reopen OBS, those specific vertical hotkeys disappear and are no longer saved.

Important:
• Normal OBS hotkeys save correctly
• Other Aitum hotkeys like Show/Hide Vertical Scene also save correctly
• ONLY the “Aitum Vertical Switch to Scene” hotkeys fail to save

Things I already tried:
• Running OBS as administrator
• Reinstalling Aitum
• Completely deleting old plugin files/folders
• Creating a new OBS profile
• Trying multiple keybind combinations
• Properly applying settings before exiting OBS

Still happening every single time.

Is this a known bug with Aitum or OBS 31?
