I built an open-source lightweight TikTok LIVE dashboard for OBS Studio

I wanted to stream on TikTok using OBS without having TikTok LIVE Studio or heavy Browser Docks open making my PC lag.

This is a free, open-source, self-hosted dashboard that connects directly to TikTok LIVE and provides separate OBS docks for statistics and alerts.

It currently supports viewers, likes, followers, comments, gifts, diamonds, estimated USD, joins and Fan Club events.

The whole thing runs locally using Node.js and WebSockets, with the goal of keeping resource usage as low as possible. The setup is quick and easy and I added instructions.

GitHub: https://github.com/kyaux0/tiktok-live-dock/

I'd love to hear what features other TikTok/OBS streamers would want to see added.

4K PR0 & 5090

I have a beefy streaming PC, x870e TaiChi, 7950x, 96gb ram, 5090, elgato 4k pro. Gaming - 14900k + 4090.

I'm struggling recording at 1080p60, my gaming pc runs at 480hz, have set capture card as 60hz(least input lag). I play warzone & average 300fps. When i record on my streaming PC at 1080p60, i notice the bus load on the 5090 hits 100%. After a few minutes, the streaming pc starts skipping frames then the sytem freezes & i need to hard reset.

I have my gaming pc colour settings set to: screen 8bit, RGB full colour range. capture card set to 8bit, RGB(tried the other formats too, 422 does the same eventually), full colour & limited same.

i have tried quite a few different set ups on the streaming pc in OBS, set the EDID etc.

Note that the streaming pc - the 5090 is in pcie slot 1 & capture card slot 2, on this motherboard that means they split lanes at pcie gen 5 x8x8, i have a feeling that may be the cause?

Even at pciex8 there should be pleant of 1080p bandwidth?? Just not sure if my settings are wrong or if this is a hardware issue, any assistance would be appreciated.

Help with bitrate for streaming

Hello there!

I have starlink, so my upload speeds can fluctuate a lot.

The minimum that I have seen my upload speed be, is 16mbps, and the maximum is upwards of 30mbps. The average is somewhere in between that. (I've been tracking it at different times of day via Ookla speed test)

I want to stream in 1080p @60FPS to YouTube. My video encoder is currently AMD HW H.264 (AVC)

I play fast-paced games (like FPS), and I used to stream at 6000kbps, but I realized that was too slow, as the quality of the stream was low.

YouTube recommends streaming at 12k kbps for my setup. But people also say to give yourself +50% headroom.

So my question is, do you think it would be okay to stream at 12k kbps for me?

Or do you think I should try 10k Kbps or something first.

I just don't want it to look pixelated/blurry if 10k is too low.

Transparency causes 3d max since gpu upgrade?

Please help! I am losing my mind.

I recently upgraded my GPU and PSU (Aug 8) and ever since, anytime I have any source in OBS, webm, mov, even ecternal browser source the gpu immediately maxes out to 100%!

CPU: Ryzen 5 5500 → Ryzen 9 5900X
RAM: 16 GB → 32 GB
GPU: RTX 4060 → upgraded to RTX 5070 on Aug. 6
PSU: 600 W → upgraded to 1000 w on Aug. 6

These are the following things I have tried to see if they made any difference:

  • NVIDIA driver roll back
  • OBS downgrade to 32.1.2
  • OBS 32.2.1
  • Hardware decoding ON
  • Hardware decoding OFF
  • Browser Hardware Acceleration ON
  • Browser Hardware Acceleration OFF
  • HAGS already OFF
  • Running OBS as Administrator
  • Disabling OBS preview
  • OpenGL renderer (this actually worked BUT could not stream with it)
  • Testing a completely fresh OBS profile
  • Removing audio from problematic WebMs
  • Reducing WebM resolution
  • Re-encoding problematic WebMs
  • Testing VP8/VP9 variations
  • Testing alpha/RGBA variations
  • Testing different animated WebMs
  • Testing MOV
  • Testing Browser Sources
  • Testing sources individually
  • Testing while not streaming

If you have any other ideas or suggestions please let me know. I am at my wits end :( And about to try to redo my entire stream overlay with no transparency sounds like a flipping nightmare and honestly...boring :(

I have a buzzing in my microphone when I speak and I'm not sure how to prevent it

I don't know what causes it, whether my headphones (which my mic is connected to) or the cord for them or something is damaged after having them for a few years, but there is a notable buzz when I record in OBS.

I managed to get my microphone to pick up my voice fine, but it's just that buzz. I could probably just deal with it, it's not a big deal, but if there is any way to stop the buzzing from being picked up I'd like to know about it because when it comes to putting filters and stuff on things I have no idea what I'm doing. I just put some random stuff just to make the microphone sound ok but the buzzing is there so idk what I would need to do to get rid of that.

I do have them plugged in to an msi laptop, if that is any help.

How do I both play and record at the same time without using the source projector with only one monitor?

I got a capture card with both a USB and HDMI output (passthrough I believe it’s called?) and I only just realized that the output is meant for a second monitor and only the USB is meant for that. The problem is I only have one monitor and I don’t have an HDMI splitter thingy. Is there a way to do this without buying any other equipment? I don’t need to see OBS at all times, just needs to be running in the background.

How to properly source record

Hi guys, greetings from Chile!

I was needing to record isolated a source on my obs, so I installed the source recorder in my obs (plugin) well the thing is that video goes smooth but audio gets choppy, I've checked nitrates are the same as main recording, same encoding but no clues ..

Any guesses on what I'm doing wrong?

If you need more details in how or what I'm doing just ask plz!

Choose from over 500 included visuals:
MilkDrop

Or, bring your own art.

Customize them to match your music and brand. Capture IKANDY through OBS using window or display capture, or use SPOUT for a cleaner visual workflow. “Best” capture cards?

I just started a YouTube channel a few days ago and I’ve been using OBS to just record my gameplay from my laptop, but my laptop isn’t exactly a “gaming” laptop, so I’m looking at capture cards so that I can record Xbox/PlayStation gameplay. I have current-gen consoles and a 4K TV, so I was wondering what capture cards would work best for what I’m trying to do. I’m not exactly trying to break the bank here, but I would just like something that works well and looks decent, so any suggestions are much appreciated!

Capturing Rayman 2 through GOG Galaxy

Hello all.

I just setup my Twitch channel and was ready to broadcast Rayman 2 through the GOG Galaxy. It was an epic fail. I couldn't transition properly to the in-game as my mouse cursor disappeared. Everytime I start the application through the GOG Galaxy, the cursor is gone and I can't transition.

  • What happened - The stream was on Twitch and the music for Rayman 2 played in the background. The mouse didn't appear, and any option to transition was disabled.
  • My Setup - I have an ASUS Vivobook with a DELL HDMI Monitor (U2414H) connected as the second screen. Everytime I play Rayman 2, the game would immediately open on my laptop instead of the monitor.
  • My failed solutions - So initially, I rolled with it, moving OBS and GOG Galaxy to the Dell Monitor. But again, the mouse cursor disappears and appears disabled. I barely switched and again can't select the option to transition to Start/Stop streaming because the mouse is disabled whilst Rayman 2 is running.
  • Common Online solutions don't work - I looked at the common solutions like, "Enable Capture Cursor", "Capture Specific Windows", "DXGI Desktop Application" and "Windows 10 and up", and NOTHING!

Please help! I gotta get this ready for my schedule soon! Thank you!

OBS Golf Sim Projection

As the title states, im using OBS to floor project data and other cool game items onto my hitting mat via overhead projection during gameplay. Issue I am having is specific to GSPro/Uneekor software and game capture. I’m trying to capture the impact playback that Uneekor displays, but when trying to capture it in OBS, the Uneekor window displays blank with no video or data. Been using OBS for about 6 months and have tons of scenes created, but this scenario has never worked. Any ideas?

Solo dev here, just shipped an app for controlling OBS from your phone — feedback welcome

Been streaming for a while and always got annoyed having to alt-tab to OBS just to switch scenes or check my mic levels mid-stream. So I built a little app for myself that connects straight to OBS from my phone (no extra desktop server running, just plugs into OBS's built-in websocket).

Ended up polishing it enough to put on the Play Store — OBSock. You can build your own control decks, toggle sources, check stream stats, all that. Free tier works fine if you just want to poke around, no subscription nonsense either.

Would love if a few of you tried it and told me what's missing, still very early days: com.isalab.obsock

question about shadowplay and obs

hello everyone. can i capture specific windows in shadowplay(or nvidia app) while recording like obs does? for example i want to capture a game and when i minimize it and switch between apps i want it to show a photo that i choose(or just blackscreen or something like that)

I dont like the feature that blocks desktop capture. i just want it to work like it does in obs. but for me recording via obs looks quite inconvenient.

thanks

Obs settings (encoding?)

So I get a lot of contradictory information on how to set up my streaming PC on obs. I guess encoder settings is the main point I'm a little lost.

What I have is ASUS NUC 14 Pro AI RNUC14LNKU7094H2

So this is strictly for obs and not gaming.

Should I encode with the graphics card? Intel arc 140v?

Or should I use the processor?

Intel Core Ultra 7 258V

Anyone stream guitar/bass playing?

I'm trying to setup so I can play bass on stream. However, I'm stuck about software. I tried audacity & Amplitube, however there is latency there. Does anyone have any suggestions for software with very low latency?

Blurry stream

Hello guys, I am using a Ryzen 5 5600 and Radeon RX 7600 8GB. I would like to start streaming gameplay on YouTube, especially playing multiplayer games with my friends, but the stream quality doesn’t seem very good.

I am trying to stream at 1440p 60 FPS. These are my current settings:

Video Encoder: AMD HW H.264 (I also have AV1 and H.265 available)

Rescale Output: Disabled

Rate Control: CBR

Bitrate: 25,000 kbps (my upload speed is 89 Mbps)

Keyframe Interval: 2 seconds

Preset: Quality

Profile: High

Pre-Analysis: Off

Max B-frames: 2

AMF/FFmpeg options: Left blank

My current log file

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
