I’m a incoming grad student OU this fall and I’ll probably be posting a lot of questions in this subreddit (apologies in advance 😅), but I’d love to learn more about Athens and what it has to offer! Any great restaurants or places I should visit?

I particularly love Asian food, but I’m open to trying anything!

Hi, I'm a new student coming to OU. Commuter so I haven't had the chance to make many friends yet. Was wondering, is there a pickleball club or even casual group for people learning the sport and having fun?

Hi all, I’m an incoming new graduate student this fall, but haven’t received any registration information yet. Does anyone know when we can expect to register for classes? I’m a little worried because classes will start in a month.

Edit: Thank you all for letting me know of your past experience! Definitely wasn’t expecting registration to be by orientation time, but as long as it’s before classes start that’s totally fine lol. And if you’re new to OU like me, I hope we get to cross paths sometime!

Hi hello! I will be a freshman at OU this fall (hooray). But I have a really important question. I am on a few medications, all of which need to be taken daily.

So my question is: which pharmacy is best for refills? Both my doctors need to know before I leave for campus, and so far most of the reviews for some of the bigger chains (CVS, Walmart, etc..) all seem pretty whack :(

Hi does anyone know if I can move in a day or 2 early, my move in day is Saturday and I’d like to go Thursday or Friday. Can I just call housing and ask?

I want to pay the 125 to move in early but I don’t have like a “real” reason other than wanting to get out of my parents house sooner. Has anyone done this and did the university ask why or for any documentation or anything? I also have a question about parking spaces and if you get to chose which lot you get or if you can park where ever in the student parking?

anyone know where i can get a parking pass for this semester that isn’t too far but not $1000?

Basically long story long I was admitted with housing deposit down and in march i withdrew my deposit (not my admissions). I scheduled orientation before that and when my orientation date came they called and i told them i wasn’t going anymore. When i check my admissions portal it still says enrolled but i don’t know if they will actually place me in classes or have housing for me. They sent me an email a while back saying thanks for coming to orientation (that i didn’t go to) but they didn’t verify my id so had me do it online. Did that but does anyone know if I will even be allowed to attend or if I’ll be able to schedule classes or if I’ll even be able to get housing??
This is all super short notice obviously and I will be calling admissions tomorrow morning but i’m sorta losing it right now so anyone’s opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I am a first generation student looking for out of state colleges and Ohio universities grab my attention. Any advice who ever transferred there.

My daughter will be a sophomore in the fall. I saw that Brenans Cafe offers an off campus meal plan. Is this meal plan worth doing? We are considering the 10 meal plan and then getting the Brenens off campus meal plan in addition.

My girlfriend and I really want to find fun and inexpensive things to do around Athens/OU, especially during the summer. We love hiking and doing anything outdoors, I have a library card and we’ve checked out the bikes before (apparently there’s a new experience pass that you can check out through the ACPL), and we’re up for pretty much anything!

I’ve also been looking around for a pool, especially one that’s not super expensive to go to.

Edit: My gf and I are actually terrible at biking haha, and I’d like to note we’re both chronically ill.
