This is no longer available in Trader Joe’s. I think it’s delicious and looking for something similar. Advice? What I especially like is the tannin like feeling at the back of your throat!
Drop em in here. Let’s see some of your favorites. I wanna try some funky/full tilt/niche oils you’ve come across. Thanks!
My store still has Oro Bailen Picual in stock but always a treat to get the Toscano (and Bari IMO, though I know this one has more detractors) in stock
Which of these olive oils are genuinely high quality and high in polyphenols, and not just heavily marketed or promoted through influencer collaborations?
Supremo is my regular to go EVOO, the others are my first timers (each time I by different early harvest EVOO to test).
So far tested yo, verde; Oro Parqueoliva, Supremo
This EVO seems to be getting some love on this sub, so I looked into trying it. What is the difference between these two bottles? They are the same price but one of them has twice the oil.

My olive oil bottle’s cap threading ripped after I overtightened it, so I replaced it with one of those metal flip‑top pourer caps. Now I’m wondering: since it’s not fully airtight, is there any risk the oil will go rancid faster? Or is it generally fine? I don't use a lot of oil maybe one teaspoon a day
Hey everyone. Every morning I consume 6 eggs drenched in olive oil. I took an Omega-3 index test, and to my surprise, I had very high levels of a trans fat. This was unusual for me because I always cook and eat at home. I use olive oil for everything, so it’s the only thing that would make sense to be giving me trans fats. Are there any databases I can use to look up the quality of Supremo Italiano? I’m trying to prove to my family that it’s a low quality olive oil and probably cut with hydrogenated oils.
Is anyone familiar with this brand? They had it for a really good price at Costco, so I threw caution to the wind. I'm really scared of adulterated oils, but I tried to contact them for info and haven't gotten a response yet
Definitely restocking this one. Just delicious.
Is this La Espanola olive oil real and any good? My local Costco has it for $10 a bottle which seems cheap for quality olive oil. It doesn't have much information on the bottle like some people say it should so I am just wondering if it is good. I have auto immune condition and I want to make sure it is pure olive oil etc.
So we don't get many options for olive oil in my country. Hence the question. Plus I've known that olive oil gets oxidised in such bottles. So I'd like to know what exactly is the health risk? Do unsaturated fats get converted to saturated fat? Thanks in advance 🙏🏻
I never really knew anything about olive oil, until my beautiful Italian friend took me to her family's renowned Italian restaurant in Melbourne. When they served warm foccacia with three small bowls of olive oil, salt flakes and balsamic vinegar, the oil punched me square in the face. I had never really tasted an oil so beautiful. Grassy, fruity and this pepper that grabbed the back of my throat like a mob boss. They gave me a litre of their branded oil and life hasn't been the same since. I don't cook with this. I either drink it neat or with sourdough bread. The bottles in the picture cost me close to $700, but I know guys who buy a single bottle of single malt whiskey for more, and who's life expectancy diminishes quicker than mine after every bottle.
Recently picked up Byrsa olive oil and wanted to share my thoughts. I don’t cook with it — I mainly take small shots of it with meals usually around 6–8g at a time, about three times daily. I expected it to be overwhelmingly strong tasting because of the extremely high polyphenol content but it’s actually surprisingly smooth and well balanced. Before this I was using Bariani Early Harvest which I also really enjoyed but Byrsa has definitely impressed me so far.
