NAD: Finally an official member

Been looking for a Crush Pro 120 for a long time and one finally popped up on marketplace. I’ve been using the Blackstar for a few years now and have no complaints but just wanted to change it up.

Honestly wanted a RV50 but it was out of my price range, got this one for a little under $300. Play a lot of punk rock like Dillinger Four, Iron Chic, Samiam, etc…. What I’ve read that this amp will be good for that style.

Orange O Tone 40 Speaker Replacement/Upgrade

Those of you who have replaced your speaker in your o tone 40, what did you use and how has it turned out for you?

Orange O Tone 40

I'm in a band and my bandmate plays a Fender Deluxe Reverb 68, and along with my drummer aswell would the O Tone be able to keep up with them in terms of loudness? I have a boss katana 100w right now and I'm thinking of switching to Orange but something affordable and loud enough to keep up with my band during gigs and practice, is the O tone the best shot or would something like a crush be better for my environment?

Running these in parallel

The clean channels work just as well together as the high gain channels. The reverb from the orange compliments the cleans so well. The 5153 is completely mid scooped so it it’s incredible percussively. I have the high gain orange set very mid-forward and it just fits perfectly.

Power Ballad Orange OR120

I was just watching the Paul Rudd movie Power Ballad and spotted an OR120 with an old PPC412 as Bass backline.
I do like the sound of that combination.
What do you think about it?

New Cab Day

I was able to trade into this PPC412 cabinet, and it’s totally sick.

Running EQs in the fx loop of Orange amps, please discuss…

Yes, you can run an EQ in any amp’s fx loop, but it seems to be a bit of an “Orange amps thing”….

Why do you run an EQ in the fx loop of your Orange amp? Which Orange amp? What EQ do you use? How do you set it? What tonal results have you discovered? Etc…

Please discuss…

Thank you.

Couldn’t resist.

Finally getting back to playing guitar. Was leaning towards a Reactor 100 but came to my senses after plugging into this. Got it used for $275. It’s everything you folks have talked about. The clean is to die for and just sounds great.

A good unfuzzy overdrive suggestion?

Love the cleans on my orange crush 100 combo and also then slightly dirty , but not crazy about its high gain sound. Rather something a bit more crunchy than the fuzzy static from a high gain orange crush . Also considered sending not back and just going tube . Any thoughts? Also I gig often from local coffee shops to theaters and convention center so definitely want some headroom on the cleans too .

Rocker 15 combo to be discontinued?

Went to my local music shop to audition a Rocker 15 combo and unfortunately they'd just sold their one in stock. I asked if they'd be getting more in at the same (good) price so they called Orange. Apparently they're are none available for restocking and they are going to be discontinued! Nothing online about it and the page is still up on the Orange website so I hope this is bollocks but this is a very reputable shop and I don't see why they'd make it up.

Anyone else heard anything like this?

My Orange “Tower of Power” is finally complete 🍊

I always thought the old Sega “Tower of Power” was awesome, so I guess I ended up building an Orange version. 🍊
From top to bottom:
Orange Rocker 32 converted into a stereo FRFR combo
Nano Cortex
Orange PPC212 converted to FRFR with two Celestion coaxial speakers
The whole idea was to keep the classic Orange look while taking advantage of modern modeling and stereo effects.
I’m also developing a companion app for the Nano Cortex. Right now it’s Linux-based, but ports to macOS and Windows are coming. It automates live scenarios—for example, playing backing tracks while sending MIDI commands to change presets, scenes, or effects automatically during a song, so I can just play instead of tap dancing.
Once I’ve finished debugging it, I’ll put it on GitHub so anyone interested can use it, contribute, or build on it.
It’s probably the most unnecessary Orange stack I’ve ever built… but it makes me smile every time I walk into the room.
Anyone else here running an Orange rig with modelers or FRFR conversions? I’d love to see what you’ve built.

Overdrive (?) pedal for a Micro Dark

I’ve been borrowing a friends Boss DS2 and I’ve come to realise I really like cranking the gain and using my amp distortion as opposed to the sounds in that pedal.

I have however been using the DS2 as a boost with the gain set to practically zero and the level set to max and it’s doing really awesome things to my distorted tone.

I’m now looking to buy a pedal of my own to achieve this same effect and I’m looking for recommendations from people who use orange amps.

General internet digging is saying some kind of tube screamer, a boss OD-1 or something like a Wampler Tumnus?

Orange AD200 v3 Glowing KT88 Power Tubes

This is a shot of the KT88s in my new Orange AD200 I took last night. I think it's beautiful. This is my first all tube bass amp and goddamn is it a ton of fun. Once my Cubase license gets sorted out, I plan to record a bunch of demos.

I knew I'd love the sound with roundwounds. I didn't know how much I'd love the sound with flatwounds. OMG, that vintage woody warmth is amazing!

I'm running it with my Ampeg 410HE cab, still using the tweeter at halfway, too. The Clean switch adds a surprising amount of versatility to an already versatile tonal palette with how highly interactive the Gain, EQ, and Master Volume knobs are with each other. It's killing me about the Cubase server switch delaying my recording…
