Is this a scam or what? I applied to a property and planned to transfer to a different part of town. I make 6x the weekly rent. Not only am I employed, I have two jobs! I produced pay stubs for this week, yet I was denied. Is this some kind of scam to get our financial info?

I wanted to see the room and was planning to request that. Now I'm wondering if the room actually exists.

Ive been in my padsplit for 2 months. This is my second. I do smoke but I do not smoke on the property, except on rare occasions. Even then, it is in my car.

I wake up one morning and get a text from the host that I am being kicked out because I smoke on the property and I needed to be out by 1 pm.

I live in Florida and I know the laws well so I sent him some snippets of the statutes showing him why I would not be leaving by 1.

He told me that I can't smoke at all even when off of the property because my clothes will smell and will change the color of the walls in the property. (??)

He then adds to our house rules “no smoking anywhere outside in driveway or out back.” He also adds another rule”no walking around talking on the phone in the driveway or outside.” 

We are also getting inside cameras this week.

This is the wildest thing to me. I asked the host if the next rule would be that we need permission to use the bathroom.

We had 7 people, now we have 3 so he is increasing our rent to make up for the electricity and cleaning service fees since the other rooms are vacant.

We do pay rent and I feel like this is not how paying tenants should be treated.

Im looking for a regular home today. I can't deal with the bipolar mood swings of the hosts over these houses.

Have y’all had crazy experiences with hosts?
