What should i do with my Money

I have around Rs. 50,000 saved up, and instead of just keeping it in a bank account, I’d like to invest it somewhere and hopefully grow it over time.
I’m a complete beginner when it comes to investing and don’t really know much about stocks, mutual funds, or other investment options.
What would you guys recommend for someone starting out with around Rs. 50,000 in Pakistan? I’d really appreciate any advice, tips, or beginner-friendly investment options.

Mutual funds >> Individual stocks

So yeah:

Over the past 2 years of investing experience, I have always noticed that a person who individually picks stocks can never ever beat the index by a good margin.

We have been told mutual funds charge hefty fees, the loads, etc. I agree with them; let's just take an example of the last 10 years of UBL Stock Advantage Fund. The KSE-100 return was 350% and USF's return was 402%, so if they take a 4% management fee, then what's wrong with it?

Many financial gurus promote individual stock picking for their content and advisory services so that people buy their masterclass courses, but in the long run, mutual funds have always performed better in Pakistan. From 2010, the KSE-100 return is 14% annually and USF's is 18%.

Not just USF, many others like Atlas Asset Management, Alfalah, HBL, and MCB have also outperformed the index by a huge margin, and a person shouldn't mind paying some fee.

I am not a promoter of anything; this is just my opinion for new investors that they should get out of the loop of individual stock picking and forget the opportunity cost. After all, we all are here to maximize our returns, not investing to be cool and aesthetic.

PS: In a Sahulat account, there aren't loads, and in a normal account, you can get rid of it too by calling the helpline :)

HAPPY INVESTING!!

Transaction Reversal Delays

Assalamualaikum all.

I'm writing here to see what my options are.

Meezan bank has given me 10 business days since August 2nd 2026 & they have yet to refund my money, which is 30,000rs. The transaction failed from one of their ATMs but the money was deducted.

I've been calling regularly since I lodged the complaint, but I doubt they'll resolve it in time.

Can anyone please help me out here? I still have 3 weeks until I get my salary & I need that money.

What business would you start in islamabad with 200k PKR?

I’m a fresh BCS graduate and currently looking for a job. I’ve been financially dependent on my father throughout university, but now that I’ve graduated, I feel uncomfortable asking my family for money and really want to become financially independent.
I have around 200,000 PKR in savings and I’m considering using it to start a small business/side income instead of simply keeping it unused.
I’m open to tech or non-tech ideas, online or local. Ideally, I’d like something that can generate some monthly income while I search for a job, but if it has potential to grow into a full-time business, even better.
If you were a fresh graduate with 200k PKR , what would you do with it?
Looking for realistic ideas from people who have actually tried them.

CS student needing advice/options for financing a PC build (PKR 150k) for Full-Stack & Flutter development

Hi everyone, I'm a 24M Computer Science student from Punjab currently focusing on Full-Stack and Flutter development.

My core hurdle right now is my machine — it's very low-spec, hangs frequently, and severely limits my ability to code or take on projects. I want to build a decent PC setup (around PKR 1.5 Lacs) as a powerful system would open doors for freelance work and learning, but neither I nor my family have the funds upfront.

I'm looking for options to get an easy, interest-free or manageable loan/installment setup for ~150k that I can pay back in 8 to 12 months. Since I am a student, traditional bank loans or government schemes aren't an option for me right now.

Is there any viable path, community initiative, or installment alternative in Pakistan for someone in my position? Would love to hear your advice or experiences. Thanks!

Dose Somebody gives Qarz-e-Hasna in Lahore, Just for Month or two...

I am a property dealer, and I am currently going through a temporary financial crisis because of just one delayed sale. As soon as my sale goes through, I will be able to return the money.

I want to use this money to clear my small loans which I have taken from people, especially those who are not financially well-off like Doodh Wala, Rent etc I am only seeking this help because I genuinely want to fulfill my commitments and get through this difficult phase.

Alhamdulillah, my business is doing well overall, but due to the current financial conditions in Pakistan, I am going through a slightly difficult patch at the moment. I am confident that once my sale goes through, I will settle everything,

InshAllah

FWO: Specializing in No Bid Projects

FWO: Specializing in No Bid Projects

9 August 2026

There is something special about the Frontier Works Organization (FWO). It keeps on being “awarded” no bid contracts again and again.  But they are not from the same governments; Federal and all provincial governments do it.  Sometimes it is defended that no other contractor of similar quality and experience exists, yet we can name several contractors of C-A Category within Pakistan.  Many times the contract is sole source but it was re-priced at a larger amount.  Finally, how and where are the profits accrued from the various civilian projects accounted for.

The latest are four projects awarded by the government of Sindh.  They are:

  • The University Road BRT project's Lot 2 was given to FWO via "direct contracting, government-to-government arrangement" after the cabinet terminated the previous contractor, with off-budget funding approved.tribune.com
  • The Karachi Circular Railway flyovers/underpasses contract went to FWO as a single-source award, with the Sindh cabinet formally seeking exemption from SPPRA's competitive-bidding requirement.dawn
  • "Laying of Pipeline from Dumlottee to DHA and Construction of Pumping Station, Forebay, Filtration Plant and Ancillary Works (through Government-to-Government Agreement)" — explicitly designating it a government-to-government arrangement, not a competitively tendered contract.app.com in July 2025 at it was priced at Rs10.56 billion, but on July 24, 2026, the cabinet approved the 40% EPC cost escalation to Rs14.237 billion.
  • There is an undisclosed fourth project.

The Federal Defence Minister confirmed the Rs205bn M-13 (Kharian–Rawalpindi) motorway contract, awarded to FWO, has entered its implementation phase (The Nation).  This no bid project was earlier reported by us.

P.S. Government-to-Government Agreement means that a Government unit is contracting another government unit.  In this case Sindh Government and FWO.
