Need genuine advice for partial drip

Ik this is a long post but pls take the time to read it :)

I wasn't able to do well in BITSAT s1 and s2. Jee mains also went average. I got into one of the top colleges in hyderabad but I hate it here already. I've never planned on staying in a local college, i did get into vit but my parents didn't send. Regardless, I've decided to take partial drop last month itself and started preparing.

Just to give some insight, I've skipped most of maths for the past 2 years which is why my performance in entrances hasn't been that great. I only know coordinate geometry, vectors 3d, circles conics, stats, matrices, series. Phy and chem are relatively stronger but I feel like I forgot all of it.

Now that I am planning on taking partial drop i can't avoid maths anymore. I'm thinking of doing calculus because I barely know it and master the other chapters which i already know.

Once college started I'm having a tough time managing the double life because the college is pretty far away from home (39kms) and takes a good 5 hrs of travel in total to and fro combined. Many advice to dedicate atleast 4 hrs to partial drop prep and I'm really trying but with coding involved in college too I'm having a tough time managing both. I need to give time to college too or I'll be lagging behind. I'm kind of in a helpless situation.

I've given myself time till October to finish the theory of calculus and then from oct to jan start revising and doing questions and mocks.

Now my worry is im finding myself in a situation where I have to choose between either of the two. Rationally thinking partial drop seems really risky but again a huge part of me does not want to settle in a tier 2 college at best. The crowd, the faculty, the infrastructure all feel so sub par. I'm not sure whether i will be able to crack BITSAT or mains again with the efforts I'm able to put now and I'm scared whether the efforts I'm putting will also go into vain and next year in the efforts of putting my legs in both boats I will j end up drowning. And since I am in a tier 2-2.5 college I need to work extra hard too which seems impossible if I waste away this year too

Do I deserve it ?

I was a NEET aspirant and At the end of 12th I decided to go for JEE, as my father's old age and our financial status too( He works at a sweet shop).

So I randomly gave an exam and got into one of the best state colleges through our state level Engg entrance.

I wasn't satisfied as I couldn't give out my very best.

I started a partial drop.

Completed 2 years of JEE mathematics in less than a year.

I used to live at a pg and also travelled via train weekly to save the cost of food in the college area.

Skipped breakfasts/attended college/studied in train/and used to go to market when I was home as my father comes home once a month.

Although I did good in JEE mains 1 but due to suddenly having a severe eye infection I messed up mains 2 and JEE adv.

But I got into CSE at a tier 1 college of my state exam (best in my state)

But only because of reservation.

That's why I'm asking

"Do I really deserve my seat"

Got 2 compartments — should I reappear in Feb 2027 or all 5 subjects? Need advice 17M

Hey everyone, I got 2 compartment subjects in Class 12, and I’m thinking of giving the exams again in February 2027.

Honestly, I’m pretty devastated right now and I don’t really know where to start. I was planning to take a drop year, but definitely not like this.

I want to use this year properly and prepare seriously. Next year, I also want to give IMUCET and try for sponsorship for the Merchant Navy, so getting my Class 12 results sorted is really important for me.

I’m also confused about whether I should only give the 2 compartment exams or reappear for all 5 subjects. I feel like reappearing for all 5 might be the better option, but I’m not sure if that’s actually a smart decision.

Can you guys please guide me on this?

Should I join offline coaching/classes, or study online?

If online, which teachers/resources would you recommend for Physics and Maths?

Should I make notes from scratch again, or use my old notes?

Should I focus only on my 2 compartments or reappear for all 5 subjects?

How should I structure my preparation from now until February?

Has anyone here been in a similar situation and successfully cleared their compartments?

I know I messed up, but I don’t want to waste this year feeling sorry for myself. I genuinely want to get back on track.

Any practical advice would really help. Thanks.

Need some advice from ppl who’ve already taken a drop

I’m thinking of taking a drop this year, so I wanted some tips from people who’ve already taken a drop once.

First question: why didn’t your first drop work out And what factors affected it?

Second: in your opinion, what should you have done differently that you didn’t?

3rd:-What advice would u give to those who are taking a drop??
