This room gives me the creeps

This room gives me the creeps

There is this pitch dark room at Anna's in Classic, where you can only see when you light your lamp. There is nothing except a blind grated window. Given Anna's past, the Caravan stuff... I don't know, I feel bad things happened here, and probably with children...

Thoughts?

Dropped off on day 4, almost restarted

I fucked up. I missed a ton of stuff at the start of the game and Notkin is dead. It's day 4.

I played the Classic HD just before this, so I know these games put you through the ringer, but I wasn't ready for just how much there is to do in this one and how awful the backtracking is (awful in a good way? I know it's an intentional part of the game design, this isn't a complaint)

I was considering just starting over. It took me a few days to deliberate what to do because I just felt horrible and stupid... But I've decided to just go with it... It feels more in the spirit of things...

I'd rather do another play through after this one where I'm more informed and try to do better. Because I know I can do better than this. I'm picking back up where I left off tonight.

Just venting a little. I'm new to the community but I already love this series. The writing is stellar, the gameplay is immersive, the setting scratches an itch I didn't know I had, and I'm completely normal about Artemy I swear...

Who is the talented artist who drew this official Steam profile background for Pathologic 3? It captures the Bachelor perfectly

Just reached day 3

I have been ignoring this game for a while and played a few games but the pleasure I get from the weird shenanigans of this game feels unmatched. I have a double clicking mouse so combat has been hard but I have been doing alright for now.

I have a few questions regarding some things.

Is brown twyre impossible to find in daylight? I literally wasted 4 ingame hours because of that one quest. At least I learned where herbs spawn.

I forgot to pour blood on that tree will that be a problem? Should I go back to my day 2 save to do it?

Should I start herb collecting every night? They start to shine at night which makes things easier for me and they will probably be important later on I think.

I didn't visit my fathers home after getting the permit so will this cause a problem?

Why doesn't this town have a proper police force that can investigate things? Taboo aside there must still be some people dying since there are gangs.

Is there a way to solve the poor performance? I can easily play cyberpunk but I get like 25 fps in this game.

Will I get a house of my own or will my dad's place my home after I get to it?

Are theater play important? They are fun to watch yet you get nothing off it other than a few more questions.

I want to talk about the main character too. I don't think he is a good person or just a doucebag considering his conversations he seems to have no problem with taking lives. He doesn't feel bad but doesn't seem to be enjoying it too(at least for now). I don't know why he even has so much knowledge of herbs when he is just a doctor but well we are going to see. I don't even know why he would want to follow his fathers steps considering he and the old man seem rather distant from ehat I understood. I doubt they even sent each other letters frequently from the fact that he knew nothing of his fathers life or nothing about his friends. How old even is he? 28 or something? Considering the times isn't it weird he didn't have a partner?

All things considered I do think he was in prison for at least a few years and that is the main reason of his disconnection with his father even outside the fact that he is only a half kin(I guess)

Why does the Pathologic fandom seem to have such a large queer audience?

Hey everyone. So I recently found out that Pathologic 3 came out, decided to see what people were saying about it, and ended up on this subreddit.

I played the original Pathologic when I was a teenager, and obviously played Pathologic 2 later as well. But I was never really an active part of the fandom. Back then, pretty much all of my interaction with the community was with Russian-speaking players on VK and similar places.

I only started using Reddit regularly after moving abroad, mostly as an extra way to practice my English.

So when I found this subreddit, I saw some polls, posts, fanart, discussions, etc., and one thing genuinely surprised me: there seems to be a pretty large queer audience around Pathologic.

And now I'm curious what exactly about Pathologic attracts so many queer fans?

I know there are a few bisexual characters, and I know that the Haruspex and the Bachelor are kindred souls. But, at least from how I remember the games, that was never a particularly strong or central part of the story, and most of it was in the first game anyway.

So I'm wondering if there are some themes in the games that resonate particularly strongly with queer players and that I simply never noticed.

Or did it just happen naturally? Maybe some queer bloggers or content creators introduced the games to their audiences at some point?

This is not an attack in any way. I'm genuinely just curious.

(And why are we all still shipping the Haruspex and the Bachelor after Pathologic 2? Or did Pathologic 3 develop their interactions into something deeper?)

Should I keep going? Spoilers up to Day 7

Spoilers up to Day 7:

I’m on Day 7. Khan is infected; one of the architect brothers is infected (the one who now lives with Grace); Anna Angel is infected. I’m really into the story, the metatheatrical elements, the existential conversations. I have a lot of respect for the creativity and mind of the developers and writers. I’ve even gone so far as to read some of their recommendations—the works of Thornton Wilder and Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury.

But. I have a life, a job, two young children. When I log into the game at this point, I experience frustration (yes, I know that frustration is an element of the game and I actually appreciate it as a game mechanic). I’ve had one conversation with the Inquisitor. I don’t have the right antibiotics for Khan and the architect. I do have the panacea, and one shmowder.

Should I go ahead and use the shmowder on Khan? Go get some organs from the hospital and brew antibiotics for the architect? I know I’ll need the panacea for Rubin (I used my first brew on Bad Grief, who is also in danger again). I guess I’m just ready for the game to move forward… but I want it to move forward without my friends dying. Is it worth continuing? I worry that without someone important, I won’t get an ending I’m happy with, that I’ll always wonder what would have happened if I could have kept so-and-so alive. If i stop right where I am, no one is dead yet…

Needing some spoiler free guidance.

Hey team, I'm getting back to Patho 3 after a few months away.

I remember getting the "yeah, you saved the town but also you didnt learn sh*t" ending, which made me laugh.

So I'm wanting to start untangling the web but I'm at a loss for what I need to do.

Currently in Day 2, I managed to get the box and piece of wood, from Isadors place and the only thing on the map is getting into Simon's study, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how the stuff I smuggled out of Isadors is supposed to help 🙃

Am i on the wrong path? Should I just go day by day for a second loop?

Also I'm super out of amalgam, so wouldnt mind if there are some hints on how best to refill that. Euthanasia seems inefficient... (a horrifying sentence if there ever waa one)

Twyrine cocktail?

I was looking for a cocktail to accompany my infinite battle against the sand pest and I may have a winner: The Bijou. It’s 2 parts gin (botanical, or yas if you’re looking for a tincture), 1 part sweet vermouth (blood twyre or ashen swish, if you will) 1 part green chartreuse (extra botanical, just twyring it up), and a dash of orange bitters (swevery!) Green chartreuse is hard to come by these days, but this cocktail is nailing the vibe. Plus after I downed one, the town started calling to me about an abandoned toy box full of ground up mixed pills 🤷‍♂️

Lmk if you have other twyrine cocktail thoughts! Bonus points if it incorporates niche bitters.

I had an unhealthy obsession with Pathologic when I was younger

I was 14 and got exposed to Pathologic 2 from YouTube. I watched all the YouTube videos, and played all the games. I even named my discord account Tragedian and my profile picture was the Tragedian. And yeah, I joined Ice Pick Lodge’s discord server with that profile.

Ignore my username and bio.

Question about the Changeling ending in pathologic classic

I just finished playing her route and I don't understand these things:

The first two screenshots are from today's mission. Does it mean that to follow the final choice is to follow the "script" with clara? Choosing the correct ending for her chatacter? Is refusing to perform the miracle going against the Makers?

The other two are from when you choose to perform the miracle. I assume this is Clara's twin talking since she also said in the cathedral that she will take the ending that we didn't choose. ...She is talking as if we choose not to do the miracle? Is that because that is the ending she will take since we didn't take it? Then choosing to perform the miracle is the worst option then? Since we see it but when we leave our twin reamins and takes the worst ending? Are we supposed to take the option where we don't do anything? I did took it afterwards, but I just got the bad ending and there was no comment im the quest description of Clara's twin.
