I know “hotels and migraines” has been asked before, but I haven’t seen it asked this way, and all the threads are old.

I have chronic daily migraine. I’ve had it since I was at least three, probably since I was born. Some days, it’s a 10/10 full-on migraine, but some days it’s “just a headache,” but my world-renowned headache specialist whose experimental protocol has really helped me (I’m not cured, but it’s a lot better) says they’re all migraines; some are just worse than others. But I still have this problem.

When I stay in hotels, I go into the room, and everything seems fine. No smell. But I wake up at 4am or 6am or whatever with this smell all in my nose and hair and clothes. It’s like chemical flowers and a car-mirror air freshener stuck up my nose. But when someone else stays with me, they don’t smell it. No one in the room smells anything. If I ask the front desk, they say they’ve never heard of anyone else complain of this.

It’s not one hotel chain. It’s happened in different chains, but there are a few in which this doesn’t happen as often (the cheaper the better, usually—Extended Stays and La Quintas are best, but it’s a dice roll; nothing is totally safe). The issue has gotten a little better since I started taking Quilipta, I think. It still happens but is less intense.

Does this sound familiar to anyone else? No smell upon entry. Smell and migraine when you wake up. That’s what’s weird to me. It’s not a smell that’s just in the hotel. It accumulates or something.

I’m driving to New Orleans from NW FL for the show Sunday, and I just saw that it’s really flooded there and raining tomorrow.

Is anyone worried that the show will get canceled or that out of towners won’t be able to drive in? Any locals have reports? All opinions welcome and useful. Thanks!

Not sure why I didn’t see this anywhere else (like, the band doesn’t seem to have promoted it), but Conor talks about the weed collab and not drinking and the birthday shows and stuff here.
