Anyone else (pleasantly) surprised that Bright Eyes is touring again?

I’m so shocked that there’s a tour about to happen. Ever since Bright Eyes started again I’ve been dreading the day it enters another dormant stage.

I was expecting a break or gap and then another solo record - but obviously not a fortune teller.

I love his solo stuff - mainly the mystic valley band - but am very curious if Bright Eyes is going to be this active in this way for the future.

It doesn’t seem like they’re slowing down.

This didn't get enough love first time someone posted it. I think it might be the best live content this band has ever released it deserves your attention. They sound incredible and it's very well shot and mixed.

Red Rocks Commemorative Ticket

Just wanted to share for anyone else who might've forgotten this was coming! I was interested to see if they'd have the reschedule date or original. Now it can live with my poster with the original date :) It says design 3 of 4 so I'd love to see if other attendees receive different art.

Firewall is THE perfect opener.

Long story short, I got tickets for the fall tour. My partner hasn’t had a lot of exposure to bright eyes- so we’ve been progressively going through some albums on long car rides. I’m halfway through people’s key, and have a completely renewed sense of love for this album. Since firewall, I’ve just been analyzing how it sets up the rest of the album SO perfectly.

Anyone else have an album they’ve fallen in love with over and over?

If we hear a Down in the Weeds song at this upcoming tour, it will be the same gap of time as it was hearing a I’m Wide Awake song during the 2011 tour.

Red Rocks Hallucination?

A question for fellow Red Rocks attendees: do you remember a few of the Digital Ash text projection banners being in Spanish? I watched all the clips I could find and even watched the Hollywood recording on YT trying to revisit them for my fluent sister to translate and I did not see them at that show (though the angle from that filming sometimes missed the banners). I was pretty dehydrated and under nourished for the show and I'm starting to wonder if maybe I hallucinated them??

I recommend these shirts

There was a lot of talk on here a couple weeks ago about supporting the band and buying their merch. I just got these 2 tops last week and I highly recommend. I’m used to band ts not being flattering or not the most comfortable but that is not at all true for these.

Just came to say Conor's brother Matt was a great guy

Matt Oberst was, in 2011, my English teacher at Sterling Montessori, where he worked for many years. Matt was beloved among his peers and students and was, in my eyes, somewhat of an icon. He spoke proudly of his brother, Conor, who I understand is the primary songwriter and frontman of Bright Eyes.

Matt was a genuine guy with zero tolerance for bullshit. Matt helped me through my problems with understanding and without judgement. He also raised great children.

I'm not really posting this for any reason except to say that I miss Matt, and I'm sure he would be very proud of what Conor has accomplished. I'm glad there is a community that enjoys Conor's music.

My bright eyes tatto

Just wanted to share with you guys! I got this tattoo with white ink in 2015. The picture was taken just after I got it. now it's a bit blurry but still kinda readable(at least by me 😅) , and I probably will touch it up, maybe with red ink next time.

Alternate version of An Attempt to Tip the Scales

I remember hearing an alternate version of An Attempt To Tip The Scales at one point, I feel like it had a higher pitched female voice or choir singing the chorus. I can't for the love of me find it anywhere. I feel like it may have been on one of the Bright Eyes Saddle Creek box set albums. I just can't remember.

One Year Ago

Exactly one year ago, I photographed the most recent band picture of Bright Eyes when they were in Berlin. It was a hot and cloudy afternoon, not the greatest conditions for pictures. Still can‘t believe it sometimes when I see the picture somewhere on streaming or social media.
