Sand keeps coming out of covered paver joints—what is the best permanent fix?

Hey everyone, looking for some advice on how to properly lock in the sand between my backyard pavers (picture attached for context).
The Issue:
The joint sand continually comes loose and spreads across the patio.
I’ve cleaned it up with a leaf blower multiple times, but sand keeps migrating out of the joints.
Context: The patio is covered, so it isn't getting directly pounded by heavy rainfall, but the joints still won't stay put.
Questions:

  1. Is switching to polymeric sand the right move here?
  2. If polymeric sand is recommended, what is the best way to activate/cure it in a covered area where direct rain won't reach it?
  3. Or would applying a joint sand stabilizer / sealer over standard sand be a better solution for a covered space?
Appreciate any product recommendations or step-by-step tips from anyone who has dealt with this!

Hello, you wonderful people! When i had pavers done, the guy put this grey stuff (blue rectangle) between the house and the pavers. The blue rectangle is solid like concrete - but it’s degrading further down (red arrows). What is this stuff? Thanks either way!

Which bonding adhesive to use for outdoor slabs?

Hi all, I'm using the traditional cement and sharp sand for the mortar bed. Is there a specific priming slurry bond i must stick to? I was looking at BAL External Priming Slurry Bond. I've already bought 20 bags of cement 😅 thanks
