My first pedal board!

I plugged everything in and will clean cables up next. I can believe how fun it is having these different effects to play around with. Am I missing anything that would add to the musical tone palette? Is this a good order starting with fuzz ending with looper?

SOTB: my first unsaturated color-coded board

it just happened. just wired!

sonicake source comp>donner giant metal(HM2)>eno tc18(big muff)>donner dark mouse(rat)>tc spark>demonfx ravine*>GFI clockwork.

*fake keeley caverns clone, OF COURSE!

please ignore the cabling. honestly it was tidier when i was using daisy chain only. i only switched to a compact psu cause i figured I'd try some drives power starving (courtesy of Harley Benton PowerPlant ISO-3AC SAG) soon.

idrk how I'll manage to connect my amp cable to the back of that clockwork, but that's a future problem.

Reverb pedal that sounds like "space" from Chroma Console?

I really love the sound of the reverb ("space") inside my Chroma Console, but annoyingly I can't use the delays inside the CC and the reverb at the same time. Any suggestions for reverb pedals that can give me a similar sound so that I can use the CC's delays and still get that 'verb vibe at the same time?

Dirt Pedals into Clean or Dirty Amp?

Am I the only one that can never seem to get a good tone from a distorted/fuzz pedal into a clean amp? I know it’s pretty common in especially in the doom metal sphere (which is what I’m mainly playing) with guys like Mike Scheidt from YOB, Jus Oborn from Electric Wizard (in the earlier days), etc… For me anytime I try that it just sounds terribly harsh with no mids or low end. So I always end up running my dirt pedals through an amp with a bit of crunch already going. Just curious on y’all’s thoughts and experiences. Peace!

Need help IDing pedal

Bear with me, I'm going to try to give as much detail as I possibly can.

I remember being on Sweetwater several years ago, and seeing this big red pedal (roughly the size of those UAD amp sim pedals for reference) that was some kind of modulation pedal (maybe chorus, but I believe it was a flanger). I think I remember there being a big knob on one part of the pedal that was the "highlight" of all the effects, if that makes sense.

The name was an english/romanized pronunciation of a japanese word relating to cherry blossoms (they spoke about the translation/meaning in the description of the pedal).

I know this is a longshot, but any leads help!

Seventh Son by The Audio Cultivation Project

This thing rips. Acts like a fuzz but feels like a distortion? It palm mutes really well, and it’s inspiring me to play a lot of early Nirvana. He describes it as ‘fuzz-stortion’ on his website, which I feel is extremely accurate.

I saw this thing at Effective Slam but the room got too busy for me to check it out, I was super stoked when I saw he had a few extra units for sale leftover from his preorders. I ended up with serial #69 (nice).

best pedals to stack with a BOSS HM2?

i recently got me a uber cheap HM2 CLONE (not in picture), which i'm LOVING. my favourite combo has been with my jazzmaster going into a big muff.

it goes without saying, that i'm not going for traditional metal sounds here.

so the query is: please throw here your favourite HM2 drive stacking combos/technique, or combos in general, even to the wackiest weird stuff!

which drives work great paired with a HM2?

We added NAM support to Stratus. Preview is live, would love feedback!

Hey everyone! 👋 We just shipped NAM A2 support on Stratus as a preview, with full launch coming in the next week or so. Running natively, no conversion. Would love your feedback!

If you have a Stratus: Update the app (if you're on Android) or join the TestFlight (if you're on iOS) and try it out! NAM A2 profiles load directly from TONE3000.
https://testflight.apple.com/join/bcRfDFjz

Don't have a Stratus? You can still download the Chaos Audio app and explore the TONE3000/NAM browser interface. We'd love feedback on the experience even without hardware!

We've been exploring NAM on Stratus for years, so I want to give a major shoutout to Steve Ack and TONE3000 for finally making it possible with A2. ❤️

When should I worry about buffering (regarding cable length and built in buffers)

Hey everyone! I’m working about buffering some long cables. Basically: whether I should worry about it or not. I’m running an EW-D wireless system into my pedalboard, and the cables that I’m worried about are:
- a 6 in cable from the EW-D to a 1/4” panel-mount pass through to a 25 ft cable to the input of my amp
- a 25 ft cable from my effects send to a 1/4” panel-mount pass through and a 6 inch cable into the input of a darkglass anagram
- a 6 in cable from the output of the anagram to a 1/4” panel-mount pass through to a 25th cable going to the effects in of my amp.

The owners manual for the amp and anagram say that all of those outputs are buffered, but are all buffers the same? Is there a particular type of buffer I should be looking for to make sure that it will make up for the cable length? Also, will the pass-through jacks mess with the buffer? Specifically, the ones going through a 6-inch cable first. Thanks!

donner dark mouse is the best cheapest rat

this is a rat post.

this is a cheap rat clone post.

i have a joyo splinter, a donner dark mouse, a dolamo vintage distortion, and i've had a friend's proco rat 2 for a while. i think it's safe to say i know my rats.

HECK, dark mouse almost never left my board for any of the others. is it the middier eq profile? is it that it's crunchier, grainier overall? idrk, but it SMASHES the other two cheapos. its eq profile is SPOT ON the proco's, while the others' is flatter. that seems to be the case for TC magus pro too.

i'm not going to say it's "better than the original". but, boy, given its size, i do prefer it. it's *better* the the original at what it does... proco rat 2 just sounds good in every spot and setting, extremely adaptable. but i kind of prefer the dark mouse's slightly specific sound.

just don't get a splinter or a magus, when you can have the donner (same as mooer black secret as of what i know), unless you're averse to mini pedals, or want a fat rat (in that case: splinter). the donner sounds WAY better, AND way rattier.

and i'm not even considering the turbo rat mode here, which i'm in 90% of the time anyway.

end of communication

Worth fixing/possible?

I just found this old thing in a storage container, and yes I know what it is. The only thing is I don’t know a damn about electric circuits or soldering. So I’m not entirely sure of what it all needs or if it’s even possible. The only things I notice so far is that it’s missing some key pedal parts that are easily replaceable and the back. Is it worth taking it somewhere or learning (I’m not really looking to get into building but it does sound like it could be fun) ?

Sheeran Loop pedal issue

I’ve had the Sheeran loop pedal for a couple of months now and over since I got it makes this weird noise. It’s the small version. I would post video so you could hear the sound it makes but this sub won’t let me. It’s makes this woo-ing sound that fades in and out the same time the green light glows brighter and dimmer. Wanting to know if anyone else has a had a similar experience and what they did to fix it. If you want to hear the sound I can dm you a video. (In the photo I have the tuner on but it’s happens regardless of the tuner being on or off.)
