Premium reverb upgrade

I have the RV-6 currently, and it’s really good. It was actually my first ever pedal, and a gift from my wife. So I’ll never sell it but I’m ready for an upgrade, and looking for suggestions on something premium, as it’s one of the final pieces of the board I’ve been working towards for a while.

I’m a home player, and been gassing for the Cornerstone Nucleo ever since I saw it on TPS, and then watched the vid at the reactor. Incredible, it sounds amazing, I love the back story, but very importantly, it seems to have a huge amount of functionality but with a very intuitive interface.

BUT, a friend pointed out the Empress Reverb is probably the absolute top of the mountain and has been for a while. I watched some reviews and blown away by how many incredible sounding options it has, and the ability to save several presets, and again a simple interface.

My use case is broadly what I have with the RV-6: three or four main presets which I use and can tweak a little bit. move between a few options, and then mostly forget about, but very easily adjustable when I’m in them. And then a little weirdness when i want it. ideally a bit more weird than I’ve got now, and all round just a far higher quality of effect.

Has anyone got and played the Nucleo or the Empress reverb? How’s your experience been with them? How do you use them? Which is the one to go for? Or, does anyone else have a lesser known (by me!) premium option which I should check out? Not really interested in Strymon and menu diving in general, i prefer a more hands on the pedal experience.

Any thoughts feelings emotions about these/your fave ‘verb pedal very welcome. TIA

I need some advice….?

I have no experience with pedals, and I’ve finally reached a stage of understanding music well enough to explore on guitar and create which I will be looking to do but secondly I need to work on rythyms a lot.

My question is which pedal do I get that will allow me to take a song I like, it’s drum and /or bass track from beginning to end of a song I like even if it’s a complex rythym and have it so I can play full songs and improve my reading and listening of rhythm?

I find I often don’t finish learning songs because I get flustered with tab/music notation, I do understand it for the most part but I’ve found a lot of wrong tabs at times also. It maybe some kind of dyslexia or something but I tend to pick up stuff by watching other players or videos and sounds, but I want to grow the areas that I’m weakest.

So that’s a big thing I’m looking for and than secondly, a pedal that I can use to freestyle/create and practice my scales. I find I can think of lyrical ideas easy but I need a looper to help me create my melodies that match the words. I was looking at an RC10R but it seems that an RC5 might be capable as well.

Budget is no more than an RC10R. Hopefully this all made sense. And thanks for your input.

Let’s hear from the “meat and potatoes” pedal guys…

Forgive the image quality, it’s cropped from a much larger image - included for reference (and showing off maybe idk I fucking love my amps).

Anyway, per the title, who else just uses very straight forward pedals? I see so many esoteric awesome boards on here with super cool also very esoteric pedals. I just can’t seem to make that stuff work for me and I always end up with very simple pedals and rigs. Ignore the Royalist preamp and the copper sound as they’re not plugged in. If a pedal has too many switches and knobs, I’m too dumb to get anything good out of it. I think that’s basically it.

I just resort to two or three types of drive, and a few options for reverb, and an echo. My main amp is a 1959hw. I’m not saying that my board is minimalist at all. It’s just that the pedals in the chain are pretty straight forward and don’t have a lot of options. Aside from the expanse. But I only use it on one setting and never tinker with it. I could see how some would find this effect chain I’m using pretty boring. Currently, it’s as follows Tuner> LA2A comp (always on) > Tube Driver > OCD > Plumes > Orion echo > Keeley Omni Reverb > Expanse. I’m mainly using the expanse to split to stereo for when I’m running both Plexis in stereo. I don’t use the controller for it that’s also on the board. These are pretty much all the pedals I own. Minus a big muff that’s not hooked up.

Who else likes feature scarce, straight forward pedals? I wish I had more time to play with pedals and explore.

NPD from Fuzz Imp

New Pedal Day!

Adventure by Fuzz Imp ⚡️⚡️⚡️

He is crushing it. Highly recommend this dude. This pedal is based on the Boss FZ-2 Hyoer Fuzz, and it’s already taking the place of my Fuzz Factory.

Timeline L out noise

Hi, first of all I apologize for my English (I use Google translation so it’s not perfect at all) I bought a timeline from strymon 8 months ago, and for a few days there has been a blowing noise and sizzling but only on the L output. I changed the cable jack, I tried everything but the noise remains on the L. I noticed that the noise appears when the cable is pressed all the way down. Also, when I change preset there is a little noise that can be heard. I have a festival in a few weeks and I absolutely need the pedal to be functional, if someone ever have any ideas it would be of great help!

Yamaha Magicstomp effects processor

So, I had just gotten this pedal from my stepbrother yesterday and I had wanted to try it out and see how well it would sound compared to other effects processors I have used. He did mention he didn’t know if it had worked or not, but I wanted to try it out anyways because I was intrigued by it. Turns out, it doesn’t. I had plugged it in with a 9 volt power cord so I could use it, pressed the on/off button, but it would not turn on.

Have any of you that have used this pedal, run into this kind of problem? What do you think the possible reason(s) to this problem could be and could you provide any possible solutions?

Fuzz pedal recommendations

I was hoping I could get some recommendations for a versatile fuzz. I’m a big David gilmour guy and tend to use his sound as inspiration but do not want to just copy his gear. Something that can do both and open and gated fuzz would be awesome.

I liked the tones I could get out of the chase bliss preamp mk2 but don’t want to spend 1k on a pedal.

Is this a good pedal board setup?

I’m thinking about buying these pedals as the foundation of my pedalboard. I’m mainly going for a shoegaze and heavy metal tone, and I’m hoping these pedals will get me there. If not, I’d really appreciate any recommendations for pedals that work well for those styles.

Right now I’m using a Fender Mustang LT25, but I plan on upgrading to a Fender Mustang LTX100 soon. My guitar is a Squier Jaguar.

I’m also looking for a good, affordable pedalboard that can fit all of my pedals, along with a reliable power supply. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Cool distortion pedals to stack with voyager?

Really looking for some cool distortion/drive pedals to stack with my walrus audio voyager. I’ll stack it with a big muff sometimes which sounds good for some stuff but I was wondering if you guys knew of anything fun that wasn’t a fuzz to stack it with. I have a walrus audio fundamental distortion right now and I honestly hate it. Just lacks personality.

Totally open to wierd pedals too. I like making interesting sounds.
