This plant was infested with mites and rust not even a month ago and now it’s giving me a flower. Again I’m not great with flowers but this one looks like it might be northern? TIA
Terrible start to my sunday
Free to download on official page. And here it is (the paper):

Abstract from the paper: "The unknown parent is likely not part of the Lophophora genus due to the greater than
10% difference in average gene similarity with the small compartment. It can also be ruled out
that the second parent is E. pachanoi given the lack of similar genes (see Appendix 4). There are
a few theories of what the other parental plant could be, such as cacti found growing near L.
williamsii including but not limited to Ariocarpus spp., Turbinocarpus spp., and Mammiliaria
spp due to their proximity to wild peyote button sites (Niesel, 2018). L. williamsii have been
shown to successfully crossbreed with the latter two genus in a greenhouse setting but there is
limited evidence of wild hybridization (Schmidt, 1969)."
If I have a pup growing from Taproot, is it safe to plant the main head at its boundary line between stem and root subsequently burying the pup? Im using lava rock and crushed oyster shell as inorganic and topsoil.
Grown from seed and they’re
maybe four years old. They just started flowering for the first time a few days ago. I have been curious if I would ever see them flower.
I've been growing these in a 15cm/6" deep plug tray, to get some fat roots. Some of the cells are getting too crowded, so I dug one out. I wanted to give them chance to get some big fat roots, pretty pleased. They all fit together like a 3d jigsaw.
Not sure what to plant them on into, I'm thinking biggish pots with several buttons in each as I'm limited on windowsill area. Any other suggestions or a long trough maybe? Am I too hard on them?
So I just got these in the mail today. They came wrapped up in a box just like this. I just ordered unfertilized potting soil, coarse sand, 1/4 inch size pumice, and some small terracotta pots, which will all be here tomorrow. This is my first go around taking care of these cacti, so I want to make sure that I do it right. Should I keep them clumped together like this? I'm afraid that attempting to separate them might damage their roots. Any knowledgeable input is greatly appreciated. Complete novice here.
Had too many failed butt grafts and now prefer to keep the taproot on. Failed grafts could easily recover and rooting will be a blast :)
It feels pretty squishy but it’s chucking out pups like crazy
I like gardening and growing cactus and succulent, I was gifted this lil dude, is that peyote? How do I make more of them?
