Seasoned green thumb but cactus noob, any help is appreciated.

I have a huge indoor plant collection but it’s almost all tropicals, mostly aroids and ferns.

I picked up a San Pedro (no idea what variety) and a Bolivian torch. I repotted in grow bags in 40% pumice 10% perlite 40% cactus mix.

Now what???

How much should I water and what should I be fertilizing???

I’m in zone 9 growing outdoors in grow bags, I dechlorinate my water and have the ability to adjust ph if necessary

Joined the club! Do I need to repot?

Hey everyone!

I finally joined the club, long time plant lover but have mostly stuck to tropical aroids and arboreal tree ferns.

This is my first cactus, typically I repot everything when it comes home with me. I’ve read that these guys can be sensitive to repotting and I should only do it if it’s absolutely necessary.

Is a repot warranted or should I wait a bit? Also when I do repot how much bigger should I go? Do they like snugness or can I go big to prevent having to repot often.

Who do you consider the “All City King” in SF?

As far as taggers go, I feel like mayoe has been holding that title down for a min, but sober has been giving I’m a run for his money these days.

As far as all around writers, who can tag, piece, cover space with throws. I think camel has really come back with a vengeance and claimed that title.

I’ve lived in the city all my life (except for a brief hiatus hiding out in sac) been paying attention to the Graf scene for the last 2 decades and studied the history before my time. Blessed to be from a city with such a historic graf scene.

Currently working on walking every street in SF, so far this has been my favorite thing I’ve come across!

Was working my way down the Embarcadero on Tuesday when I came across this lovely bunch. Unfortunately I was on the phone with my doctors office and didn’t get a chance to talk to their human. He saw me struggling to get a shot while fumbling with my phone and hand signed for me to slow down and take it easy. He lines up all 7 of the pups for me to snap a couple flicks. I said thank you over and over but unfortunately that was all I could get out before going back to my phone call. I wish I had been able to chat with him, but super thankful he took the time to do that for me! Anyway, hope yall enjoy this shot as much as I did.

Can someone please ELI5 altitude sickness?

I am not a mountaineer but I have climbed Whitney in CA, I was fine but noticed a few people really struggled with the altitude.

So I understand that it’s not simply oxygen, that’s it’s the lack of pressure that is preventing your body from properly circulating said oxygen. Is this correct? I’m sorry if this is a stupid question but pressurized suits or even compression gear would that help? Like space suit but for land

I assume oxygen also comes down to what can actually be carried as well. Like running pure oxygen will help greatly but you can only carry som much?

Why do astronauts not experience this in zero Gravity?

I know airplanes are pressurized but other than ears I don’t notice any noticeable decompression on landing

I always thought I understood Altitude sickness and just attributed it to “thin air” but the more I look into it the more questions I have

stainless ashtray with silicone knob in middle and ring around the top from 2012ish?

I used to be big time into glass culture and the weed scene circa 2012. I moved a couple times and broke most of my nice glass and gave stuff away/ lost most of my paraphernalia over the years. I used to have this stainless steel ashtray with a silicone knob in middle and silicone ring around the top that you could knock your bowl against to empty it. I always liked it better than the debowlers cuz the spike gets all resiny and nasty. I cant for the life of me seem to be able to find this ash tray for sale anywhere. does anyone remember these/ know the name of the brand?
