Looking to meet some new people and get out of the house more

33M - Perkasie

I’m pretty laid‑back and not super outgoing, but I’m trying to be more social this summer. I’m into movies, card shops, gaming, and checking out spots around the city. If anyone wants to hang out, grab food, hit a show, or just chill somewhere low‑key, I’m down.

Just looking to meet cool people and expand my circle a bit. No pressure, no expectations — just good company.

Hey everyone!! If you’re looking for something different to do this week, Skip the Small Talk is coming to Migration Brewing!

It’s a guided conversation event—think speed-friending vibes, but calmer and more intentional.

You rotate through short conversations with prompts that skip past surface-level small talk. It’s structured enough to make it easy, but relaxed enough to feel natural.

Most people come alone. The crowd tends to be thoughtful, open, and just… normal humans who want more community.

Here’s the link if you’re curious:

Anyone wanna go to Philly AIDS Thrift this Sunday?

I’m planning to go this coming Sunday morning to browse around and see their latest stuff. If anyone is open to coming along for company, feel free to hit me up. I know some people earlier said weekends were better.

Some info about me: queer black guy. Love gaming, fantasy, horror, and comedy movies, 80s and 90s music, cooking/baking, and just bumming around. I’m really trying to put myself out there to meet new people and figured to give this a shot since I don’t go to bars or clubs.

Philly Curiosity

Hey all,

I am trying to find out more about wheelchair accessibility and ADA housing in Philly. I am really hoping to move to the area sometime this year or early next year. What should I be aware of and where should I look? I don’t have a huge budget so I would be open to a roommate situation potentially. I’m not very familiar with neighborhoods and such.

I need a change of scenery and I’m looking to meet and connect with others who are new to the area or looking to move soon. I’m 28 F currently hoping to move from rural PA and meet people in advance so I don’t show up clueless and alone. Considering taking a trip to explore and check it out more.

Yes Another “Hey I’m New” Post

Yep, another “Hey guys I just moved to Philly and I’m looking for things to do and explore” post. 26M. Recently just moved here from NC. Not new to the north or the east coast, but it has been over a decade since I lived here. Really into music (metal/hiphop/jazz), would love to get into painting, book clubs, anything artsy really. One of the reasons why I moved here was to reset my social life as where I was before was nonexistent. Feel free to comment on the post or DM me things going on or where newbies should go. Thank you for the help in advance.

Would anyone in Philly be interested in a civic/political meetup group ahead of the 2026 midterms?

I’m thinking about starting something called “The Democracy Project: Philly” a community focused on voter engagement, volunteering, discussions, social events, and meeting other civically engaged people.

Curious if this is something people would actually show up for.

Personally, this matters a lot to me because I’m exhausted.

I’m a millennial, and it feels like our generation has gone from one crisis to another our entire adult lives recessions, crushing housing costs, student debt, layoffs, political chaos, climate disasters, burnout, unaffordable healthcare, and now the uncertainty surrounding AI and the future of work.

I’m tired of feeling like regular people are constantly struggling while politicians argue endlessly and billionaires keep getting richer.

I care about climate change and the constant cuts to environmental protections and climate research. I care that millions of Americans still don’t have proper access to healthcare. I care that people are working multiple jobs and still can’t afford rent or medical bills. I care that we keep investing enormous amounts of money into wars and political fighting while so many communities here at home are struggling. I care that AI is advancing rapidly with very little meaningful regulation or guardrails in place.

And honestly? I think a lot of people feel the same way but feel isolated, burnt out, or powerless.

That’s why I want to build this.

Not because I think one meetup magically changes the world but because democracy only works when people actually show up, build community, stay engaged, and care about each other enough to participate.

I want to create a space for people who still believe things can improve if we stop doomscrolling alone and start organizing together.

------------

And to the people who inevitably want to dismiss the idea of people gathering around a cause. that’s okay. Not everyone cares about politics or civic engagement. I do. A lot of people do. And there’s nothing wrong with wanting to build community around something that matters to us.

26M new to the east coast looking to make friends

26M latino looking to make friends/join communities. Recently moved from Chicago to Wilmington for work (fresh out of grad school), so I'm looking for fun things to do and fun people to hangout with in the Philly area too. I enjoy trying new restaurants/coffee shops, bars/clubs, game nights, working out/volley ball, and concerts. My music taste is a mix of reggateon, rock/emo, corridos, EDM, alternative, and a lot more. Open minded in trying new things/hobbies and meeting people from all backgrounds. Comment/shoot me a DM if you would want to hangout!

Going to The Foundry today if anyone would want to meet up before or after.
