What older pop girl song deserves a resurgence?

We’ve seen many songs from years (or even decades) ago make a resurgence on the chart, usually due to featuring on a soundtrack or going viral on social media, years after release and gaining a new audience thanks to the streaming era.

Examples being Connie Francis’ Pretty Little Baby going viral on TikTok, or Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Murder On The Dance Floor being played in Saltburn.

So what is a pop girl song you think deserves a second chance at reaching a bigger peak than it did on original release?

Underrated 2010s and late 2000s popgirls?

Ok i feel like this is really specific but this is the place if im gonna find some lol. Looking for some more fun pop to add to my rotation, thinking from like 2008 to 2014. Anything that has that like 2012 sound for example where have you been rihana, neon lights demi, twilight cover drive, dna by little mix, midnight sun elena, sun is up/hot by inna, so many others lmao. Any recommendations? Its such a nostalgic sound. Any deep cuts from hit albums like this would also be amazing!

Does anyone else have a song they really love that they sincerely wish was made by ANYONE else?

“Nothing in This World” by Paris Hilton has been one of my biggest guilty pleasure songs for years. I love the fun, catchy powerpop feel. That being said, I’ve heard very few GOOD things about Paris Hilton as a person in recent years, and she’s not exactly a great musician either, so I always felt really weird about admitting to loving the song. On a whim, I decided to look up the songwriters and producers on the off chance THEY are cool at least.

It was all Dr. fucking Luke.

Which leads me to the question: Is there a song you love, but really wish had been brought to life by different artists for whatever reason?

Olivia Rodrigo understood why the French Revolution happened, while filming "drop dead"

Video from popculturechat but I added captions. Sidenote, I would love to see her in Les Mis, perhaps as Éponine
