Dream Survey
Hi all! I’m doing some research for a website I’m creating about shared dream experiences. I’d love to hear from you! Your information won’t be shared without your consent and the survey is anonymous.
Thank you!!!
Do you also have prophetic dreams?
I always have some of that dreams with symbols . Like a warning sign.
Apart from that, if I focus intensely on someone's thoughts, I can sense the very sentence they are formulating, even if they are far away at that moment. Or, I get seemingly random premonitions; for instance, before a friend of mine actually broke their leg, I saw a brief flash of them breaking it right before my eyes.
Do you also have these type of experiences ????
Does anyone else feel like their life moves through predetermined cycles or “reality shifts”?
Hey guys, new here.
Ever since I was a child, I've had what I would describe as mild psychic or intuitive experiences.
Most often they come through very distinct dreams, or sudden thoughts in my own voice that seem to appear out of nowhere guiding or warning me.
But the stranger thing is the way my life seems to move in patterns or cycles.
There are certain periods where it feels like no matter what I do, I can't escape the general pattern I'm in. Then eventually something shitts, and suddenly the old version of my life feels completely gone and a new period begins. My luck changes, circumstances change, opportunities change, and even the overall
"direction" of my life feels different.
The closest description I've found is when people talk about feeling as though they've switched timelines or entered a parallel version of their reality. I'm not necessarily saying that is literally what is happening- it's just the closest way I can describe the feeling.
Within each of these periods, I can very much predict the outcome of certain areas of my life.
Not necessarily exact events, but the overall direction.
There is one particular thing I want deeply that seems completely normal and attainable for most people. But for some reason, I have this very strong feeling that I'm not going to receive it in this life, or perhaps not for a very long time.
Every time I seriously work toward it, I seem to encounter major obstacles, and eventually I end up back in the same place.
That familiar "pattern" feeling returns, almost like there is a doorway that simply won't open no matter how many different approaches I try. It's simply blocked.
The difficult part is accepting that feeling. Part of me believes I should keep trying to change my circumstances, while another part feels like this particular cycle won't change until eventually the universe decides. I've talked with a lot of people about this and no one seem to relate to this.
Has anyone here experienced something similar?
Especially the feeling of moving through distinct life cycles where certain things suddenly become possible or impossible? How do you tell the difference between intuition and becoming convinced by a pattern because you've experienced it so many times?
Something very specific I dreamt happened after I woke up
I dreamed that my ex-best friend's (now just a friend) sister was pregnant. I hadn't thought about her in months when I met my friend and he mentioned her. When I woke up, I saw that he had shared a picture with her on his story it turns out she's back in the country. I thought, "what a coincidence," and mentioned it to my best friend. Didnt really think much to it.
The dream itself was disturbing. She was pregnant, but either lost the baby or lost her own life. My friend was crying, especially because she's his twin sister and only sibling.
Then, later that same day, my best friend sent me a screenshot of my friend telling him (he is a close mutual for both of us) saying that she's actually pregnant. I hope she is well. But I was very shocked of these events happening in such specific way. Like all in same day.
What do you call this?
Premonition Dreams that sometimes half come true
Ever since I was a teen I've had premonition dreams. When they first started other people in them were just shadows, as if they were characters that had not been unlocked yet. The first one I remember having was a dream where one of those shadow figures picked me up and threw me in the pool. When I had the dream there was no pool at my house. A year later my parents had a pool put in and shortly after that the guy I was dating picked me up and threw me in the pool.
Another year later I start having dreams about laying on a couch with someone wearing an orange tank top. I couldn't see their face but I remember the orange. Shortly after that I found myself cuddling my now ex husband and he had on an orange tank top while we cuddled on his futon.
The dreams stopped for almost a decade after that. Once they started again they seemed to make less sense or only part of the dream would happen in real life.
I also had one that was from another person's point of view. In the dream I was in the driver's seat of a truck. I glanced at the steering wheel and recognized my exs hands. It was like i was in his head. He/I was at a stop sign across from my house, I remember the thought, do we drive by? Then a voice from the backseat says thats [myname]'s house can we stop and say hi. I suddenly feel very sad and start to go pass the house before saying I dont think she would like that. As we drive by the house i refused to look over at it until we were just past the driveway. At that point I woke up.
This time last year, I was home and shouldn't have been. I made plans with a friend but bailed at the last minute because I didnt want to leave my new dog alone. I had gotten him 2 days before. I was standing at my kitchen counter when I looked out the window and saw a black truck sitting at the stop sign across the street. It sat there way longer than needed and I watched a little boy poke his head out of the truck. I recognized him and the moment instantly. I tried to tell myself it wasn't him but when the truck finally turned to drive by I raced to the front just in time to see that it was in fact that ex, his mom and his son driving by just like how I had dreamed.
Now I keep having dreams about a life with a man that rejected me. I started having dreams about him 2 months before we ever met. In the dreams he's my husband. I feel very stuck between intuition and logic with that one.
I just wanted to post my story somewhere and see if anyone had any insight.
I had a vision - advice please
Hello kind friends. I recently had a vision of my current partner standing with a baby in his arms. The vision was strong and my initial reaction was - 'Shit. That's his future and I'm not in it.' Our relationship has been complicated for sometime. We are both early 50s. I've had some health issues and I've been going through hard times. We are both divorced and have children from previous marriages. I'm pretty sure that he doesn't want more children he's even mentioned it and it's not physically possible for me anymore. We're don't live together and we haven't been communicating that much these past few weeks. We do love each other very much and have active independent lives. Since the vision I feel like I should be backing off so that he can move into this new life that I've 'seen'. I haven't told him about the vision. He looked in awe and so happy with his new baby. Help me out folks...
The older I get, I’m having far fewer cognitive dreams
When I (35, male) was 10, I dreamt my great-grandfather died, only to wake up hours later to the sound of my mother sobbing after learning he had passed in the night. While elderly, he wasn’t necessarily that ill nor was he expected to pass when he did.
As I grew up, I became more and more aware of this gift, peaking around highschool, when i would regularly get visions in my dreams of everything from pop quizes the following day to a particularly specific dream about my cousin and his wife having a still born. I could always tell I was having a precognitive dream opposed to a regular one, and they always came true.
Now, they are so much less common. In fact, the last one I recall having was a heads up that a co worker of mine was going to be let go in 2024, which he was the following day.
Am I doing something to block my access, or is it typical for such a gift to grow weaker over time?
Here we go again
I was sitting in the backseat of our car holding the groceries so they wouldn't fall over while my husband drove us home tonight. I'm sitting there, and suddenly the word "Alien" comes to me. "Alien?" I think to myself? "What's up with that?" I brought out my phone journal and typed, "Alien, spacecraft, UFO."
My husband asked me, "What are you thinking about?" And without missing a beat, zero hesitation, I spewed the words out to him. "Uhh, okaaay? Why are you thinking about that?" "I don't know. It just came to me." I even showed him my journal where I wrote the words down.
Two minutes later, my phone beeped of a notification. Someone commented on a YouTube comment I made earlier. The person's name-- Alien3254.
I’m not sure if I’m psychic or going crazy.
I want to first apologise for the length but I’d like to get this out. I’ve been experiencing “things” and am not sure what they are, how to tap into them or most importantly what they mean. I’m hoping you can help me figure it out.
Most people would call them coincidences but some of these events are too dead on to be that.
Just for background, I’m 27F and work in forensics. I have always been fascinated with death and the unseen, in both a good and bad way. I have worked with human bodies/remains, and have always maintained that the body and its parts is not the person, it’s their soul and their consciousness that makes you “you”. I believe entirely in energy.
I worked in a heart lab a few years ago, and received three cases on the same day marked with the date of death as 29/07. This was my Grandads birthday. I got the urge to call him so FaceTimed him. He was fine, smiling, and laughed when I told him why I called. He died very suddenly of a heart attack in his sleep around 3 months later. He hadn’t had a previous heart attack before this. I was very close to my Grandad as he was my father figure. I haven’t been the same since.
He played this song all the time: David Bowie’s “Modern Love”. I refused to listen to is after he died. If you don’t know it, it’s an 80’s(?) song and is very rarely played in public anymore. He was the last person to play it for me. The next time I heard this song was at the funeral of my friend, who ended her life three months after my Grandad passed. I of course broke down, but the timing couldn’t have been crazier.
I got into a fight with my neighbour in December which ended in a (wrongful) court case. In January/Feburary the bees came. A big, massive beehive made in the front of their house in a wall we both shared. It grew as tensions rose surrounding the case. It got to its worst and biggest in around June, and I eventually ended up getting stung by one.
Then everything changed. I moved out and started therapy within three days of each other. I’d been waiting for nearly a year for the latter. And the bees left a few days later according to my sister. Completely gone after there being thousands that affected the whole area. I didn’t move out under good circumstances, and have been struggling really bad mentally.
Naturally, I’ve been thinking about my Grandad a lot since moving out. Whilst tending to a bunch of his favourite flowers I bought myself, a feather landed at my feet through an open window. I live in a second floor apartment. Another time, when confessing to my mum that I was having dark thoughts of self deletion, a feather came through that same window and landed on my lap. When I ran into a store to grab one item, a trip taking no more than 3-4 minutes, a random song ended and David Bowie’s “Modern Love” started playing. The only other time I’ve heard it since my friend’s funeral.
The court case happened to fall on the day of the solar eclipse last week. For some reason, I felt way calmer than I should have been, and way calmer than my mental state would usually account for. The last total eclipse like that visible from my country was 1999, the year I was born. The case was dismissed on all charges with no further action that day.
And then it brings me to today. I was just chatting with my sister, and casually mentioned a manager I used to have at a summer job around 5-6 years ago. I have not seen, heard from, thought of this lady since I left that job. It was completely random that I even mentioned her, but the story that my sister was telling me reminded me of her. My sister came to mine and we were hanging out. And then boom. Text from old manager out of nowhere. “We’re at the park”. It was obviously sent to the wrong person, and the message says sent with Siri so I doubt she meant it. But I am spooked.
I have no idea what to attribute this to, whether it’s the universe, psychic abilities, astrological intervention, paranormal communication, witchcraft or whatever the F this could be. But I’ve really started seeing more synchronicities than I can make sense of. I actively try not to look for them sometimes. Coming from a science background, I’m cautious of confirmation bias. But the things keep happening.
I don’t know who to talk to about this so will post in a few communities hoping someone can figure it out. But really, I’m positing here so I can really get this off my chest because I don’t want to talk to anyone about this incase they see me as crazy.
Is it really all just coincidence? Has anyone else had anything similar? How do I even look into this?
Dream
I had a dream about my mother dying 2 days before she actually died.I remember saying this to her and she smiled saying she won’t go anywhere.
Also the dream was exactly the same room where she died.
Why did i had this dream?
Recurrent but progressive dreams about an ex
Hi everyone, just wanted an insight and thank you in advance!
I've been dreaming about an ex over the last 6 months, and each dream is progressive in nature. Initially, I saw a couple of dreams where we talk on the phone and then reconcile. It then progressed to us being in the same car and clearly he's asking us to be together. We visited my new groups of friends and I saw myself introducing him to my new world. I then saw the next dream of our engagement where I tell myself, "okay everything makes sense now". My last dream, I saw him wearing a similar astrological gemstone ring on the same finger as I do with his wrists wrapped with a religious thread just like I wear, and in my dream I asked him "oh you too?". The ring and thread I wear is significant in terms of a lot of inner work I've been doing in the last 6 months. Can someone help me decifer these dreams? Why are they progressive in nature as well? I never see such dreams regarding anyone else and my dreams have gotten stronger in the last 6months. I do meditate every night, hence I'm more centered with my thoughts and emotions.
What do you think is happening?
ive been having weird premonitions and knowing things before they happen
recently ive been having these weird premonitions of things happening before they happen. I have a pretty active imagination and thought maybe I was just thinking of possible scenarios, but recently they have all been coming true.
i lose stuff all the time, but recently when thinking about an item that I dont know the location of, a spot pops up in my head and IM RIGHT.
i dont really know how to describe it, but ill think of a certain scenario, like my friend forgetting to bring a hairbrush and then it happens.
i have had experiences in my dreams of seeing my grandma who has passed, and once she smiled at me then dissapeared then in another she talked to me. both times I was aware she was dead and was very confused as to how she was there.
does anyone know like what I should do with this? is there something to do to help me focus on what I want to predict? do you guys think this is just me overthinking it? im pretty unsure. advice appreciated!!
Dreams I just cant explain...
I keep coming back to this memory and I need to share it to see if anyone else has had similar experiences. There's more instances than just this, but this one has the clearest details so it is usually my point of reference.
As a teenager I had a very specific and detailed dream about a lethal outcome accident happening, might even call it a freak accident because it was in no way something I've heard of before. I dreamt that a dark coloured sedan model car (my dream even gave me a partial license plate) with one middle aged man as the driver went through the railing of a bridge right next to where I lived. Not a single sign of hitting the brakes of the car, just straight through and into the water. The car went down fast under the surface, and the man who was driving did not survive. In my dream it was like I was seeing things happening as if from above, and I had the knowledge of that he had suffered some sort of illness related attack, so what happened was most likely not intentional.
The details in my dream were insanely vivid, and as soon as I woke up I wrote down as much as I could in my diary. That detail I'm very grateful for because it gave me a very strong reference point for when I heard the news about the accident. The news came later that day, and more info within a few days. Every single detail matched up perfectly apart from the location. The actual accident happened a few miles further down the same road where there is a ferry going to the next island. The car went straight through the wooden markers to stop and wait for the ferry to dock, and went right over the edge plummeting into the water. No signs of slowing down, and the driver did not survive. The news later did share enough info of the victim that matched up perfectly with my dream, and I remember a picture being published from when they lifted the car back up from the water, and that partial plate that I got from my dream matched.
This all happened back when info came mostly through the radio and local newspapers, news websites didn't have much info about local events yet, just the bigger and more international or on a scale that concerned the whole ccountry. So sadly I was not able to go full on hyperfocus digging around online to find out more, to confirm the details from my dream. I did tell my mom about my interest in the accident though, and asked her to share any news with me, or tell me what she heard. Point here that she did not know about my dream, I kept those details to my diary and that was well hidden from here at this time in my life.
The part of this all that messes with my head the most is that it did not concern anyone close to me, it just happened geographically very close to where I lived at the time, but I had no way of even subconsciously seeing any kind of warning signs or patterns in my daily life that could explain it as a pattern recognition thing. I am aware now as an adult that my pattern recognition is very strong, and that I often know things might happen before they do, but they are usually tied to my daily life or people close to me, explaining that I subconsciously could have deducted that likely scenario.
Over 20 years later this thing still haunts me. I knew someone was going to die and how before they did, and I really wish I could have done something to prevent it. But considering the whole situation I don't even know how I could have done that.
Additional details: I was raised evangelical lutheran christian, but my family was never overly strict with it. I am aware that there have been several women on my paternal grandmother's side of the family with insane pattern recognition, considered the family psychic, and deeply spiritual when it comes to experiencing ghosts etc. Nowadays I consider myself Agnostic, and a strong believer of science. I believe there are still many things we can't explain because we don't have the right scientific methods to measure it yet, but that there is a lot more to existence than what we see now. Also, idk if it matters but I have diagnosed AuDHD and cptsd, which for sure makes me notice details a lot more precisely.
TLDR; had a dream, dream happened in vivid detail irl, still haunts me over 20 yrs later.
Curious about others experiences
I have had a few precognition dreams in my life. It's been some time since I've had one but when I do they tend to happen right before i wake up from a nap or sleep. I usually see key components (For ex. the last one I had I saw a slightly heavy set Mexican Cop with a white helment and a handle bar mustache) and the background is an orange(ish) color like when you close your eyes and look at the sun (even though i'm indoors), sometimes feelings are stronger and the visuals are fuzzier. Usually they will occur days or even months later. Does anyone else relate to this with their experiences? I just found out about this group and am curious if people experience precognition in a similar way.
The last experience of seeing the Mexican cop was the first time it happened the same day. The vision didn't even save me from getting the ticket 😂 Got pulled over no more then 5 hours later on the highway and he looked exactly like my vision i had that morning before waking up. Even told my girlfriend about the vision that morning in detail and She was with me when I got the ticket and we talked about it for a while on the drive afterwards. It was the first time that there was no second guessing that it was a real vision bc of her knowing in detail what i described and then experiencing what happened with me and that it occured within a short amount of time.
I dreamt I met Netanyahu then IRL found out his rabbi performs mystical Kabbalah
I have been studying mysticism, dreams, nde, Kabbalah etc for I’d say 8 months now. I’ve entered this journey and weird coincidences have been popping up ever since. I always keep an open mind and mostly been using the dreams for introspection
Two nights ago I had a dream that I was at a university/school and in the dream I would get the highest classes (literally climbing a staircase) in multiple subjects and when I entered the room there was Netanyahu already there every time. He was calm and a seemed like a learner like me. I don’t remember much of the exact words we exchanged (this is a common theme in my dreams)
In one room I entered it was not just Netanyahu but jd Vance was with him. They sat next to each other opposite to me across a desk while we waited for the lecturer and when I questioned them they looked at each other and smiled/laughed.
I am not on any drugs and have cut weed out of my life (which was the only drug I take) for months know which have made the dreams more vivid.
I do have an extreme interest in geopolitics and of course he’s the talk of the town which influences my dreams. But I found out today he relies on a mystical rabbi.
My current interpretation of the dreams is along the line of jung (who I am looking more into) where we all enter an collective unconscious and that my mystical journey of knowledge I’ve been entering is similar to the one he’s been consulting.
How can i stop the dreams
Hello all. Apologies for my first pist being a negative one.
I have enjoyed reading about all your experiences.
I wish my experience has been the same as many of yours but it hasnt.
I am just wondering if there is anyway to stop the dreaming. In my life i have experienced many, many precognitive dreams, however i have never had a positive experience. Every dream i have had has always been negative. For a time i was smoking a lot of w**d or drinking just enough alchohol to stop any R.E.M sleep however now that i am sober they have come back with a vengance.
Down to the point where i am no longer getting any viable sleep. Maybe 1-2 hours a night.
Will add that every detail of these dreams is also happening IRL and it is not just a withdrawal.
And again it is nothing but negative nothing positive.
Apologies if this is the wrong reddit or if any offence to anyone has occured.
Hope you all have a good evening
Waking precognition
Do waking precognitions also may take years to come to pass in reality ? Like precognitive dreams ?
Seeking opinion on a recent strange incident/series of coincidences
Hello,
I am seeking some opinions on a strange connection I recently had. I do consider myself highly clairvoyant and have “visions and downloads” frequently. But I can’t decipher what this connection I had recently means.
I was recently visiting South Dakota, and while in the old Wild West town of Deadwood, I coincidentally was at the exact spot of an old famous cowboy’s place of murder at exactly the 150th anniversary down to the hour. Before this and now afterwards, there are still a lot of strange coincidences linking me to Wild Bill. Just about an hour leading up to this event, a friend of mine (who was thousands miles away at the time & had no idea where I was or what I was talking about) happened to mention the show Ghost Adventures to me, which I was just talking about to my friend who was with me at the time. Her and I were wondering if the show had ever been to Deadwood (which they have, AND their episode discussed Wild Bill a lot, which I didn’t learn until later). Then, a week once I return home, I was on the phone with a friend telling another friend about the strange Wild Bill connection, and she responds: “what’s his name again, Buffalo Bill?” (It’s not). I then look up and see a license plate plaque on the car in front of me that says “Buffalo Bill.”
Can anyone shed some light? Is there some sort of connection here?!
