Is Palimpsest actually divisive?

I have seen this discourse stringently in different spaces that Palimpsest could be the 'worst' thing they have ever released or that it was the fullest departure from what people like about PTH but that entire mindset feels crazy to me, Palimpsest could actually be their best album(?), especially lyrically and vocally. I find it hard to see a way this album could be reduced away from the things that make it amazing.

Just intrigued to know what people think, positive or not.

It is certainly my favourite PTH album currently (Palimpsest, Fortress, Volition are a good top 3 for me)

Since there's been multiple discussions of Fishhook...

...here's Rody confirming that Pete is a separate, progressive-minded neighbor from his current "geriatric asshole" neighbor.

Where do you rank i. above among their interludes?

I am debating placing it at 1, taking over Harborside. I honestly think it is one of the most beautiful pieces of music they've written.

Two bad knees, no big trouble

Besides the fact I can’t stop singing that line, does Pete have two bad knees or does Rody and Pete each have a bad knee and dig out together?

Fish hook is everything I wanted and needed. Getting me through some tough times.

Tornado, tree fell on my house, but my Sheet Happens order came in!

Horrible week but this made me so happy I cried. Thanks PTH!

Metal insider interview with Luke.

Couple of little (possible) hints at a double album. About the 6 minute mark he mentions these songs being part of a bigger puzzle. Then near the end, he says "im ready to let it go, this part of the release anyway". Maybe I'm just clutching at straws but a man can hope.

These Colours Don’t Run - Arif’s Country List

Got nostalgic and started listening to ACUoS, so figured I would ask here. For twenty years I’ve been trying to figure out definitively what the list of countries Arif is screaming at the end of this song are. I thought with the vinyl we’d maybe get official lyrics, but no such luck. I’ve combed through older posts around the Internet but it doesn’t feel like there’s any consensus that I could see. Was there ever somewhere this was officially posted? What’s everyone else’s list. Here what I hear:

Peru
Japan
Russia
Italy
China
??? (Straight up no clue)
Cuba
Somalia?
Vietnam
Mexico
India
Canada? (this doesn’t really fit the theme)
Sudan
Iran
Iraq

The Mariner Lyrics

The last few lines in The Mariner had me wondering what Rody meant by "I killed the bird around my neck and let it's body reside." A quick search led me to a wikipedia page for a metaphor of an albatross, which it says is a metaphor for a psychological or social burden, usually from guilt and/or shame. It's a reference to a poem called The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, where a dead bird(or albatross) is tied around the neck of a sailor who brought misfortune to him and his crew. Not sure if anyone has brought this up on here, but I thought it was pretty cool and made me appreciate Rody's writing abilities even more.

Song highlights that giver you chills

Let's talk about our favourite song parts (all albums included) that are arm hair raising (or wherever else you have hair I guess). You can only pick ONE though (or not, do whatever!).

- Mouthpiece: on the album (and especially live) when Rody sings "The water is poison We drank it by force" and "Anything that divides should burn", on the show I honestly almost cried.
- Bloodmeat: That initial riff makes me want to run full speed until I catch on fire
- She Who Mars the Skins of Gods: The part sung by "Kezia" is so heartbreaking it takes my breath away, both lyrics and riffs
- The lyrics to Tandem

- The entirety of "whatever the fuck of an 8 wheeler just ran over me" called Drumhead Trial, honestly what kind of demons are Luke and Tim?

- Palimpsest gives me chills in every song but for some reason the way Soliloquy ends just gets me good

- I've said this before a million times, I cried when I first heard the solo of Harbinger and it still gets me.

Special mention to the ending of the Mariner but I think that's just common sense between PTH fans!

This is probably the only metal band I listen to.

So I’ve been a fan since Kezia came out. When I first heard them I started exploring other metal bands that were decent, but always ended up gravitating back to PTH. Am I one of the few here that this is the only metal band I truly listen to? They have the perfect balance of screams, growls, guitar licks and pure vocals, which is probably why I have trouble getting into other metal bands. To put it into perspective, when I’m not listening to PTH, which is rare as of late with the new album, I’m listening to Steely Dan, Michael McDonald, and the Eagles, to name a few lol the complete other side of the spectrum

Inquiry regarding upcoming shows.

I plan on attending a show during the Within tour but wanted to see if air guitar is encouraged at the event? Will I get looks? Sometimes I honestly can’t help myself while listening to their music. Thanks!

"Within" vinyls expected to ship out on August 28th due to manufacturing delay

"Dear Protest the Hero Pre-Orderers

If you're receiving this message, it's because our records indicate that your order includes a copy of Within on vinyl.
First and foremost, thank you for your order. Releasing this album independently has been a massive undertaking, and the support you've shown has meant a great deal to both the band and everyone here at Sheet Happens.
We're writing to let you know that we've had to be flexible with our shipping timeline due to an unexpected manufacturing delay.
Our pressing partner was forced to temporarily shut down production after experiencing an unprecedented heatwave. Unfortunately, that downtime affected their manufacturing schedule and, in turn, the production timeline for Within.
The good news is that the records are now scheduled to go on press shortly. Based on the latest information from the plant, we expect them to arrive at our warehouse within a few weeks after pressing. As soon as they land, our team will begin packing and shipping orders as quickly as possible.
Our anticipated ship date of August 28 still looks like a realistic starting point for getting orders out the door. That said, it's important to keep in mind that there are a lot of orders to work through, and it will take some time to pack and ship each one safely and securely. If we're able to accelerate that timeline, you can bet we will. Keep an eye on your inbox, as you'll receive a tracking notification as soon as your package ships.
We know many of you have been eagerly waiting for these records, and we're just as excited to finally get them into your hands. We sincerely apologize for the delay and truly appreciate your patience while we work through the final stretch.
We'll continue to keep you updated if anything changes.

The Sheet Happens Publishing Team"
