how did my score decrease this much 🫩

PSAT PT3 (the one that released yesterday) felt very hard, but i didn't expect my score to decrease THAT much.

i also am avging mid 1500s on SAT practice tests, i have no idea why or what went wrong here 💔

the only thing i can think of is that i didnt really warmup before taking PSAT PT3 but idt that should affect my score super drastically? maybe today's just not my day 🤷‍♂️

im co28 and want National merit (tx) but this score is worrying me a bit

Is it possible to take the psat both junior year and senior year, and use either to qualify for national merit thing?

The"test-optional" era is basically over. Here's what that means for you!

If you've been telling yourself "I'll skip the SAT/ACT, most schools don't need it anymore"   that window is closing fast.

Harvard, Yale, Stanford, MIT, Caltech, Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown, Penn... all back to requiring scores for 2026-2027 applicants. Columbia just caved too, and Princeton's next in line for 2027-2028. The Ivy League test-optional experiment is basically dead.

Why the U-turn? Admissions offices ran the numbers and found test scores predict college success better than they expected, better than test-optional advocates hoped. So now even schools that are still "test-optional" on paper are quietly favoring applicants who submit strong scores, because it gives them something concrete to compare across 40,000 different high school transcripts.

Translation: if you're applying in the next cycle or two, betting on "optional" is a gamble. Policies are shifting mid-cycle, and by the time you find out your dream school flipped back to required, it might be too late to prep properly.

We've been through this before with families who assumed test-optional meant test-irrelevant, then scrambled in October trying to hit a good score before January deadlines. Don't be that story.

If you want a straight-shooting plan (not a 500-hour Khan Academy rabbit hole), that's literally what we do at Superiortests score diagnostics, targeted prep, no fluff. Happy to answer questions in the comments if you're not sure whether your target schools even need a score right now.

Help With Information and Ideas Questions (Command of Quantitive Evidence)

Does anyone have any tips for the Information and Ideas section? It's my lowest section and I want to improve it. I'm specifically struggling with the questions with graphs and tables. How do you approach those questions?

Any tips or resources are greatly appreciated!!

Goal is NMF (Rising Sophomore, Class of 2029)

I am a rising sophomore who got this on my first practice test after doing many questions (possibly 70) RW questions from the Educator Question Bank. I haven't done any math preparation yet.

Out of 98 questions on this test, I got 95 correct (2 wrong on RW, 1 wrong on math)

I am worried that this score doesn't reflect what I would get on the actual test. Furthermore, I am worried that I have run out of study resources. I took this time under all the normal conditions, but felt as if this test was super easy. Idk. Am I tweaking?

Thanks in advance.
