Foo Fighters Show in DC had a WEAK crowd

I’ve been a massive QotSA fan for 4 or 5 years now and finally got to the opportunity to see them in DC opening for Foo Fighters. I couldn’t afford floor or anything close to it so I was up on the second risers and looking down at the floor, that crowd was lame as HELL man. I could see maybe 5 people moving. MAYBE one person pumping their fist in the air. No energy, no dancing, no moshing, the pit was just completely dead.

Not to mention the awful sound mixing for specifically their set, it just sounded like a wall of muffled mess for those of us up in the stands. The venue did them dirty.

And I thought maybe it was just people who didn’t know them and only came for Foo Fighters (which is kinda valid I guess but also makes no sense to me) but the crowd was bad for Foo Fighters too!! What’s up with people paying HUNDREDS to go into the pit or get to barricade and just stand still. It was disappointing, I felt bad for them. Getting people to sing along with Make It Wit Chu should NOT have been that hard.

I still had an amazing time and I was shouting from the stands but it was sad to see such a poor response when either band was out there.

Has it been like this at the other shows as well?

Thoughts on a new fans taste?

Started listening to qotsa in July after seeing the kexp performance and love a lot of their songs. Thoughts on the ones I have added to my playlist so far?

Philly

Absolutely tore up. So much better than FF. Showmanship, crisp incredible sound mixing. Never seen a better show. They were insanely good. Merch is kinda bleh so I didnt get anything. I want to high five Josh Homme for being the best to ever do it

Cleveland Energy

I can’t help but be super bummed about the energy for Queens in Cleveland. I saw some excited people in the mix but we weren’t in concentrated enough groups. I hope to see them again one day but in a smaller, fan heavy environment.

Here’s hoping they do a more intimate venue tour across the US again one day as headliners.

Also Domesticated Animals and I Appear Missing. ‘Twas amazing.

Today’s Find: Squeezed by What is This

For those unaware, this was Hillel and Jack’s band they left RHCP for in the early days. Also features Alain Johannes.

What is the video shown during Little Sister??

I saw QOTSA during their recent shows in Detroit and Chicago. The audio engineers completely fucked the audio in Detroit, and I was so disappointed that I went to Chicago to see the very next show because I really love these guys and don't know when or if I'll ever get to see them live again. Chicago was a fantastic show! Definitely a weak crowd of people who didn't want to move when a legend is playing right in front of them, but they were mostly dad-rock fans there for Foo Fighters so what can you expect?

Anyways, to the point of this post: does anyone have any info about the video shown on screen behind the band during Little Sister?? It was so cool, so hypnotic, and so metal. I really wish I could at least find the artist(s)/animator(s) or even better, a high quality video online so I could relive it. But I can't find any info anywhere about it at all. Any info would mean a lot! đŸ™đŸ€˜
