New Artist ‘Gracie’ is here with her debut studio album ‘seeing stars’ + deluxe (2013)

Meet Gracie Holland, she was born on September 12th 1995, in New Jersey she was born from 2 unknown parents who gave her up for adoption due to not being able to take care of her due to their financial situation. She spent about a year of her life in the adoption centre before she was adopted by a family just a week before her 2nd birthday.

Growing up, she always felt like the odd one out, she was constantly reminded that she was adopted by her siblings. She would spend most of her childhood in isolation, but when she got to the age of 8, she met a girl by the name of Georgina who almost shielded Gracie as she was experiencing bullying at home and at school.

She would write songs as an escape but some bullies got a hold of it and would rewrite them to make fun of her and stick them all over her locker. this caused Gracie to stop going school and ended up getting homeschooled from the age of 10. he adopted father was a major record label execuive for Sony Music Group. and sometimes she use to do little performances for her father. she always had a mind for music.

when she was a teenager she fell in love with rock band ‘Sting’ and their makeup, she would do her makeup inspired by them. she would alsp do covers of their songs and would go around her home town doing covers of different songs. Her favourites was ‘Stay Down’ - Jazzy J, Human Nature - Black Velvet and many more. this got many people talking. On October 3rd 2011, while doing a performance, she sang one of her original songs called ‘solar’ and there was not a single dry eye in that bar.

This got her noticed by Columbia Records who wanted to give her a shot. she ended up performing 4 songs for them. 2 of which are still unreleased nd the other 2 are ‘tell me why’ and ‘selfish’ and in the words of ‘Georgia Addams’ (the label executive) she blew the roof off the place.

Gracie, now 17, was working on her debut studio album which shes decided to name ‘seeing stars’ as a nod to always aiming for the biggest things in life. By the time it was February 2013, Gracie was ready to release her first single which she decided to be solar as it was the song that changed her life. so it was set in stone that solar would release on March 3rd 2013.

That date soon came and solar failed to chart. however it blew her out of the waters. and on June 22nd 2013 the whole album soon followed. Gracie spent the next couple months with her family before going on her tour. this is where Gracie’s anxiety started to go crazy as she was doubting herself. that doubt soon faded as when June 22nd came ‘seeing stars’ was finally here.

Seeing Stars debuted at #96 and to many critics calling it ‘just abother sad lonely girl making music’. this really hurt Gracie as she really wanted this to be her career. She genuinely thought about giving it up. until she was scrolling on twitter and saw a rising artist by the name of Malcolm shouting her album out. this made her sooo happy soo much she wrote and recorded 10 new songs in the span of a month and decided to drop a deluxe.

The deluxe dropped about 3 months later and it sent Gracie to new heights. The Deluxe pushed the album to #26 and even gave her her first ever top 10 hit with angels chorus which peaked at #6. This pushed her to go on an arena tour at just 18. to which sold out.

The Stargazing tour gained over $19 million, and over the last 2 years, she's been grinding and perfecting her album, which is set to be released in 2016. It is also confirmed that Gracie and Malcolm are officially dating, to which Gracie calls it the happiest she’s ever been. Malcolm is her soulmate and nothing could ever change that.

Gracie has been featured heavily in Malcolm’s work. Her 2016 album, and of June 2015, is just over halfway done.

Introducing Rico Vale (2011)

On September 24th, 1995, Ricardo Vale Jenkins was born in Atlanta, Georgia. At the same time that he was growing up, Atlanta saw their hip hop scene blow up. Rico would hear artists like Outkast, Ludacris and T.I. and instantly fell in love with rap. He would start freestyling in the hallways of school with his buddies, but at 15, he decided to finally learn how to make his own music. Using his dad’s crappy laptop, Rico taught himself how to make a beat and how to mix a song. Rico’s family were lower class, meaning Rico would have to try and make some extra money for the family. He was a waiter, but when he was off the clock, he was a drug dealer. These jobs were able to give him enough money to buy the equipment needed to record his first mixtape.

On July 2nd, 2010, Rico Vale released his first single, ‘Red Dot’. The song was nowhere near touching the charts, however, it did gain him some underground traction. Rico kept his head down and worked on the rest of the tape, knowing the attention he would draw soon. On September 3rd, 2010, Rico dropped his second single, ‘Get Him Gone’. The song got him a lot of underground attention, but one man in particular stood out. DJ Holiday, who had worked with Gucci Mane the past couple of years, reached out to Rico and set up a studio session. This studio session produced 6 brand new songs, including one with another underground rapper, Curren$y. This collab would be called ‘Still Up’ and was released on November 12, 2010. This track gave Rico a level of exposure he had never had before. His career was looking bright.

Throughout the end of 2010 and the start of 2011, DJ Holiday and Rico continued to hold studio sessions. DJ Holiday even agreed to host the album to try and get Rico’s name even more out there. Rico barely had enough to pay for the mixtape campaign, so he resorted to dealing drugs again. However, this time, it was a setup. In late January 2011, Rico Vale was sentenced to 2 years in prison. With little to no money to his name, the mixtape could potentially be his only source of income for a while. “Southline Nights” released on February 11, 2011. While it did make a decent amount of change, it was nowhere near close to paying Rico’s bail. Rico had gained a lot of momentum from the mixtape and he couldn’t just squander that. So, to raise money and to give the fans what they want, he started recording music behind bars.

Lil’ Haven Debut - Haven or Hell (2016)

Born January 2nd 1998, Kalmene Dennis was born in Atlanta, Georgia. His mother, Janice, was only 19 when she had Kalmene and had nowhere to go. His father left after finding out Janice was pregnant. Janice and her mother were the only people in Kalmene’s life for the first couple of years. They ended up moving in with her mother in Greenbriar, Atlanta

When Kalmene was a teenager, he was a bad kid. he never went to school and instead was out in the streets. He met an upcoming rapper by the name of Yungen $nake (real name Kai Brooks), and they just hit it off. By the age of 15, Kalmene was in the studio pretty much every day.

He loved writing music, and he began working with Yungen’s producer ‘LossByElo’, and they ended up making the song ‘Quebec’ and released it to SoundCloud in August 2015. This gained some traction, especially by rising Soundcloud artist FredoRedd. By the age of 17, he got into a massive fight with his mother and her boyfriend. This resulted in Kalmene getting arrested for assault after getting into a physical fight wth this man and breaking his nose.

In 2014, Kalmene was walking with some of his friends, and they sat in a park and were bumping ‘I Am’ by ATL Legend Lil’ Trilla and ’9otti’ by *Young Oso. Kalmene made it his mission to collaborate with both these superstars.

After being released after only a few months, Kalemene decided to become a full-time rapper. He adopted the name Lil Haven and released the song ‘Trappin’ In Atlanta’, which gained a few thousand streams but also booked him a few clubs in and around the Greenbriar area. However, he lied about his age to get into the club, and this is where he met rising superstar ‘Yung Gotti’ and the 2 exchanged words, and Gotti gave Haven some advice.

In January 2016, Haven was arrested as part of an armed robbery but was later bailed out by other members of the gang. Haven became part of a branch of the Revels. In February 2016, Haven finally had enough material to drop his debut mixtape titled ‘Haven or Hell’ and was set to drop on May 6th 2016. Independently, he got features from both rapper ‘Yung Gotti’ and ‘FredoRedd’ and was finally looking at a career.

While driving through Atlanta, Haven’s friend put him onto a new rapper also from Atlanta by the name of ‘Yung Keef’, and he played the song ‘No Name’, and Haven was vibing. He turned to his friend and said, ‘Yo, this shit fireeeee’. Haven decided to party before his mixtape dropped and invited loads of people, and this is where he met 17 year old ‘Nia Davis’ and the 2 hit it off. The party was ridded wth drugs and alcohol, and the 2 got a bit drunk and ended up making out in the back room.

On May 6th 2016, Haven or Hell released fully independetly and became a hood hit. debuted with selling 10k copies and even charted on Billboard at #92. To capitalise on the success of his debut mixtape, he dropped 2 singles within a month, with them being ‘Slimey’ and ‘Atlanta’s Own’. Both failed to chart. Haven did a few shows around Atlanta and put fliers up with his number on them to try to get his name further out there. The cover was made on an editing software by Haven’s friend. Haven loved the half red half blonde hair.

On July 10th 2016, at Nia’s 18th birthday, Haven’s phone kept ringing. He ignored it, as it was Nia’s day until he got fed up and answered.
“Who the fuck are you?” he said “Hello to you too, I heard that mixtape of yours is fire, let's link and make something”, the guy on the phone answered. “You didn't answer the question. “ Who the fuck are you?” Haven said again. “Oh, right, yeah. Hey, I’m Slezxo” …

Young Oso - L$D (2015)

after coming off a dominate year already in 2015 topping the charts with ‘9otti’ and having a “Boom” in the summer with Young Slez Make It Boom things seemed up for Young Oso. but things couldnt of been further from the truth.

Most days Oso was high as a kite just sat mumbling into the microphone music was all he had left. after losing Ethan and Evelyn leaving he was destroyed, and you can hear it in some of the songs he made. Oso was heavily depended on Lean, percocets and other drugs. One drug Oso was hooked on was LSD and the psycadelic vibe it gave him inspired his final release of 2015.

“Lookin’ $upa Dope” was released on August 21st 2015 and it was different. That trap sound wasnt there he was mumbling and it worked. no singles dropped prior to the project and when fans heard rumours of features as big as Trilla and Drake but when the mixtape dropped it was confirmed the 15 track mixtape had no features.

it debuted at #1 on the hot 200 with Dru9 Dealin9 debuting at number 2. it sold 250k first week. in 2015, at a grammy party Oso met risiing superstar Malcolm who was fresh off his breakout debut album ‘Songs For When Its Loud At Home’ which the song ‘Wear That Name’ was nominted for best rap song but didnt win.

Oso and Malcolm laughed the whole night, but one bit stuck out to Oso and it was Malcolm tallking about how hes gping into rehab and says he is scared. infact his words were ‘im more scared of the man that will leave that centre than the man who entered’ showing hes scared ehat will happen to him when he gets sober.

Oso told him that no matter what hell be a legend and an inpiration and that decision and that meeting made oso stop taking LSD and slowed his drug use. he also called Evelyn that night but it isnt confirmed what happened.

Oso failed to win any grammies at the 2015 ceremony and actually went 0/3. He is said to be working with artists again with the likes of Lil’ Trilla, Slexzo and even rising stars like A$TROS and Nova $kyes.
