Henry’s story about New York and his daughter makes his Red Bulls time feel deeper than people remember

In his interview, Henry talks about playing for New York Red Bulls and the moment with his daughter where he realised his body just wasn’t responding anymore.

He said his daughter asked to play tag and his body couldn't move.

It reframes his MLS spell a bit, because it wasn’t just a retirement league phase. It was clearly a stage where he was becoming aware that his playing career was coming to an end.

Do Red Bulls fans look back at his time there more emotionally now, knowing what he was going through off the pitch and even on it?

Not Quite Highlights vs NYCFC

Another shortened version for this one.

The Cade Cowell show continues for the Red Bulls. He may not be the most sophisticated player, but a solid hammer is still a useful tool and the Red Bulls swing it hard and often. This is a look at Cowell's crossing against NYCFC. What stuck out to me wasn't just the quality of Cowell's service, but the service into him as well. Donkor has really stepped up his through balls, and having Che back on the right side helped provide a few more opportunities as well.

Defensively the Red Bulls didn't have much to do in the first half, and while Jones was a handful for them in the second half it didn't make for very exciting video watching the Red Bulls try to chase him down. Horvath though does owe Che and JMR something nice for covering for him on two mistakes that really can't be happening at this level.

Horvath

I just have to ask; what is going on with him?

We are so lucky this was a tie. Any thoughts on why he made some of those questionable decisions? We could've lost but we were saved by good positioning of our other defenders. (Rutty, thank God)

I'm not complaining about the result, just want to know what the rest of you guys think about our current GK.

Fun little answer from Jorge Ruvalcaba post game interview when asked “what has he found?” 5 goals in the season, 4 in the last 6 games for #RBNY: “I’ve found a friend named Cade Cowell that gives me a lot of scoring chances”, he said.

ticket supply

Am I the only one noticing something really strange with ticket supply this year?

A few days ago there were tons of seats available dor tonight at decent prices across multiple sites. Now suddenly most of that inventory has vanished and what’s left is weirdly clustered nosebleed sections at $60+ (Seatgeek: row 25, 227!!!!!)

It doesn’t feel like a normal “tickets slowly selling out” pattern. Usually this looks like random scattered leftovers everywhere. This looks more like inventory got yanked or something else.

Or somehow tonight is magically a near full house (which honestly seems extremely unlikely given the recent attendance).

Feels like something is going on here.......

What If - we never sold our HGs and drafted players (still active today)

Seeing a lot of talk about Hall and Mehmeti’s future, then also seeing Etienne Jr. going to represent Haiti in WC. This made me think, what if RBNY kept all their homegrown and drafted players. Would this team win an open cup, MLS cup?

What do you think? Who would you swap? ONLY ACTIVE PLAYERS

Honorable mentions:
Sean Nealis
Sean Davis
Omir Fernandez
Daniel Edelman
