RC Technicals in IR Battles

Background:

This is a bit off topic for the whole rc tank stuff but I’ve been thinking about this concept for a while. Our RC tank group has been recently getting into a more modern era of tank battles. Up till now, we’ve only been focused on WWII simulated battles which was a pretty even playing ground for axis and allied powers. However this isn’t the case for modern combat as we have a ton of nato tanks and only one possible opposition (T-90). Ofc it wouldn’t rlly matter much but it would be cool to have a more realistic approach. This along with the fact that I think it’d be a funny idea got me to the concept of RC TECHNICAL TRUCKS fit with the henglong IR battling system.

My problem:

I’m rather new to rc as a whole but I have a three of these rc trucks, one of which already has a technical model. And the other two I’m thinking of converting them to technicals as seen on the reference photos. I can get the servos hooked up for the bigger trucks no problem but the issue of IR persists. I’m wondering if there is a compact battling system I can utilize in order to make these technicals compatible to our tanks’ systems. If I have to use a henglong board, I wonder if it’s possible to hook the motors and servos of the truck into the board.

Any suggestions would be helpful, remember that this is a concept and not an on going project.

Centurion

Went to Tankfest last weekend and Haya UK had this bad boy on special offer. Centurion, metal tracks, sprocket wheels and gear box. Need add on the detail parts. The green is pretty close to British army bronze green but might paint some of the detail parts.

How to start rc tank battling?

My budget is around $250 ish and I'm looking for t-34s or panthers. I also need like transmitters for laser battling and recievers. I'm looking for a durable tank too. Thanks!

Tank battles for the weekend festivities.

Been working on these two HengLong’s since the beginning of the year. Finally finished. Planning on some fun with the kids during our camping (RV) trip starting tomorrow for the next 5 days. IR seems to work really well, which is good. Not crazy about kids slinging pellets around.

Sherman Crew

Bought these 1/16ths off of Ali express for my HengLong Sherman. They turned out pretty good I think. I’ll be ordering more for my Tiger 1.

Heng Long Sherman Professional series tank not working

Hello all,

I just received an M4A3 Sherman (Professional version) from Motion RC.

Battery fully charged, glowing green no red.

Controller radio with new AA batteries, red light comes on

Turn the on-board switch on the tank itself, LED lights (front and rear) do NOT light up

Hold down the lock button on the radio: Tank doesnt start

I have a second battery im charging to try. My suspicion is that I have a lemon product. Especially because a fully charged battery and the power switch to the ON position doesnt even get the LED lights on.

Any thoughts besides trying a second battery?
