How can I resolve this in my book journal? (Not enough space as I’m a book fiend this year apparently)

How can I resolve this in my book journal? (Not enough space as I’m a book fiend this year apparently)

Hiya everyone,

I have a book journal, which I absolutely love, but I’ve run into a bit of a snafu as I’m actually reading at an insane pace so far this year. So last year I read 52 books and that was my goal and so when I did my book journal I made 52 squares.

I did the same this year however I’ve already read 39 books so far this year which means I’m going to outstrip my target. The trouble is, I don’t know how to fit any extra books on my pages and I did my journal in such a way that the page after the one shown below is my next tracker page.

How can I resolve this? For this year specifically and what can I do for next year - I never know what I’ll read in any given year as it’s been as much as over 200 or as little as 10. It depends on my circumstances, the year, my mood etc.

Thank you for any help!

2026 Reading Journal - Celestial Stained Glass Theme

Hello!

I started journalling last year when I made my first ever reading journal. Since then, I've gone on to make two health journals and a 'kitchen' journal - both things that I use daily that I'm really glad I put together.

After finalizing my 2025 Reading Journal, I've spent the last few months putting together my 2026 Reading Journal, and I'd love to share it with you all.

2026 Celestial Stained Glass Reading Journal Reveal

I decided I wanted to make something really unique and magical this year, so this journal is dual-purpose: I'm using it for both art and keeping a record of my reading habits. It's been a true labor of love making this journal, and I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for taking a peek! <3

Reading Logs

I’m trying to get better with understanding and retaining the information I’ve read. In grade school I remember filling out chapter notes after reading each chapter, I remember it helping me remember the story a lot! So, I’m trying to figure out a good template for me now. I looked on pinterest and found some that were more geared for keeping track of how many books read, personal opinion of books read, overall review of a book, etc.

I haven’t been able to find something that is for after each chapter to fill out ;-;
I just want to know what’s the most important things to write down/ note after reading a chapter!

If anyone could give me some ideas for what I should make note of after reading a chapter, formatting for it, or anything else I would appreciate it a ton :)!

Also if anyone has a chapter log template they’re willing to share I’d be much appreciated as well! I’d love to take inspiration from any I can find!

My version of a reading journal!

I’m not artistic at all, and can’t draw to save my life, but I’m an English teacher and love symbolism, so I started creating digital collages to encapsulate the themes, symbols, motifs, and overall vibes of the books I read. Then at the end of the year I’ll print it out as a coffee table book!

These are a few I’ve done so far! I’m about 10 books behind for the year but I’m sure I’ll pick it up again (thanks ADHD 🤣). I hide a lot of stuff in the images too so if you zoom in you’ll find a bunch of Easter eggs and details!

Just wanted to share 😊

April wrap up: part 1

I read 15 books this month which is quite a lot for me as I usually read about 6 a month, the only problem with reading all these books is that I’ve fallen behind on my drawings, although I have done all my writing, so here is the first half of my April reading with completed pages, hopefully I’ll finish the rest of April’s pages in the next week or so.
