Memorial Day at Red Lobster?

Hi all,

I am a Coast Guard veteran. I was wondering if Red Lobster had any deals and/or events for veterans like me. If not, what would you recommend to me for my Memorial Day luncheon at Red Lobster?

Tallahassee, Florida Location

Was in Tallahassee this week and stopped in at the Red Lobster and was told that Sunday May 24th, will be their last day. The waitress said the company could not find another franchisee to partner with them on the location. They say the Tallahassee location is/was Red Lobster's oldest continuously-operating location in the country

I found this article tonight:

After 56 years, Red Lobster to shut down longtime Tallahassee location

Don't go to the Wilkes Barre, PA location.

Went to the Wilkes Barre location for my moms birthday.. She wanted a lobster for dinner so my sister and I took her.. We came in as a party of 6 and mentioned it was a milestone birthday... My mom ordered a 3 pound lobster, split and charbroiled.. The waitress asked if she'd like it cleaned and she said no thank you.

No one refilled drinks or biscuits, or asked if we wanted anything else while we waited.
An hour later our food comes, the starter plates and empty cups were not cleared.. The soup was served without a spoon or oyster crackers.. The flounder was cold and no tartar sauce.. No shell crackers for the crab legs (they had to be asked for 3 times even though it was a child trying to eat them).. The shrimp was cold, tails still on inside a baked dish is also a pet peeve but that's corporate not location..

But my moms lobster... Whole, boiled, sitting in a pool of dirty water.. and they forgot her baked potato..
She asked why it's like this, it's not what she ordered and the waitress says we can't split it open if you don't want it cleaned. That's definitely something you should come back and clarify before changing the customers order. My mom asked to speak to the manager and was told he's on a very important phone call and can not come out currently.

We sat for a bit and at this point it's after 8pm and everyone was hungry so my mom just started picking at the overcooked boiled lobster.

20 minutes later, a cook came out, he was wearing a dirty chef coat, definitely was not a manager. He said again, we can't split the lobster if you don't want it cleaned.. And offered 25% off.. My sister said he should remove the lobster from the bill, it wasn't as ordered and wasn't very good as is... So he literally took the lobster away from my mom to throw it in the trash. Said if you're not paying for it, you can't have it. My sister said that's crazy and the waitress chimes in very rudely "if it's soooo bad why do you want it?" as if we were trying to scam them.

We obviously left without getting dessert. Even though it was a birthday and we had intended to.. It's wild to me that anyone would treat customers like that.. I hope they fire that waitress and the cook.

I'll never set foot in any red lobster again and truly hope this deters others from going there too.

Endless Shrimp Promo changes since last time

Curious what people feel has changed this time from the last time the promo was offered. I don't mean for the corporation as a whole, I mean from in the restaurant. I know I am an outlier here as I was one of the people the news used to blame for Red Lobster going into bankruptcy.

Last time I was able to order a refill as soon as I got served my reorder. Last week I could only reorder once I had finished my order and then of course the time where the waiter/waitress took to come back to my table so I could place the reorder.

The other change is the food was servred HOT. No one could just pick it up and eat it, as it had to be cooled down first.

Are these 'official' changes that the stores are told to do or is it just my one off experience? Thanks in advance.

My employees tell me "Your food should be on the menu"

I'm a culinary manager at one of the Red Lobsters. My location is one of 9 "training" locations. We train newly hired managers and send them to their home store. This is one of everyones favorites I make. It's a steak sandwhich with Honey BBQ with a BBQ mayo and a side of garlic fries.

Edit: Everyone has another favorite which is a cajun honey chicken sandwhich with ranch drizzled over it. 😁

Marry Me Shrimp

Actually really good. Honestly, if I got these as an appetizer in an Italian restaurant, I would say that is a quality new take on shrimp. One caveat is that my location was out of breadcrumbs, so there was no breadcrumbs on mine. Don’t know if that mattered.

Question for red lobster employees

I’m wondering how Mother’s Day was at your restaurant?!Did your GM make you guys offer the endless shrimp too?

Also does your restaurants have the rule that an 8 top has to be shared between 2 servers? My GM says it’s a corporate rule but I don’t believe it lol

Anyone else going for Mother's Day?

My whole family loves Red Lobster. Me (though I really only like the Cheddar Biscuits), my mother, my brother, his wife, and my girlfriend are all going for Mother's Day tomorrow. What does everyone's Mother's Day orders look like?

OK , which stores are shutting down tomorrow.

As was the case last year day after mother's Day I suspect several dozen more stores will be closing curious if anyone's heard anything from management anyone got any recommendations on which stores can be closed all I know is this chain used to be a great place to work for but now I'm working with broken unskilled unmotivated zombies and it's literally is one of the worst mother's Days I've ever worked.
