ALL-IN-ONE REMOTE GAMING

Hey everyone, my team's been building a remote desktop app (skyPC) aiming to be an alternative to Parsec and Sunshine/Moonlight.

Our team went with a simple approach: combine the strengths of both, then add what neither of them has done yet.

  • From Sunshine/Moonlight: super low latency, smooth enough for fast-paced games.
  • From Parsec: quick setup, just one click to install the app on both host and client and you're good to go.

And here's what we're adding on top of that:

  • A client you can use directly through a web browser, no app install needed, with quality on par with the native app.
  • Full USB forwarding support (equivalent to what Virtualhere sells for $49/license).
  • Webcam/microphone forwarding support.

Of course all the other essentials are there too: two-way file transfer, headless support, gamepad, stylus/drawing tablet support, P2P with relay fallback.

All for 1 goal: you only need to 1 click to install, then you use. Solid fit for gaming, graphic design, or remote work in general.

>To pull this off, we built our own protocol from scratch along with 5 custom drivers (virtual display, USB-2, hardware & mic).

Right now the product's in the final phase, beta's expected to open this July and it'll be completely free to try.

If you want in, drop your email or dm me one, I'll send the setup instructions via email when beta open.

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend everyone.

[Question\Discussion]Confused between getting a Playstation Portal VS Backbone One or a similar mobile controller for Sony+Steam Remote Play

So a Playstation Portal will cost around $250 these days while the BackBone gamepad for mobile licensed by Sony is $100 or a similar option from Gamesir is like $60

Despite being a higher priced item obviously in my head the advantage of the portal is being a separate dedicated device so no reliance or strain on my Smartphone
But is only for PS5
Can’t ever work on PC or SteamLink
And has no use case even as an extra controller for the PS5 or something

My use case will be playing at home in my bed as I am not really travelling alot
My PS5 is always on ethernet connection
And I have decent Wifi Routers from ASUS ROG that support 5GHz and provide decent coverage around the house

Note: My country doesn’t support the cloud gaming option available on the Premium PS Plus

Portal app is now available on tvOS with Local Co-Op mode!

Hello everyone,

Portal is officially available on tvOS!

Portal on Apple TV is built from the ground up for the living room. Every screen, focus state, and interaction follows Apple's tvOS design language, so it feels right at home on the big screen. The UI is laid out for distance viewing, navigation is tuned for the Siri Remote and game controllers, and performance is optimized for long streaming sessions on your TV.

Portal brings together everything you already use for game streaming: PlayStation & Xbox remote play, PlayStation & Xbox cloud gaming services.

Local Co-Op is new on tvOS and built for shared play. Run up to 4 streaming sessions at once, mixing any supported platforms you want. Jump between sessions with a single controller, or connect extra controllers and invite friends to play alongside you, each on their own session.

Sounds interesting? Give it a try now:

Remote Play on PS4 without internet connection?

I use RP to stream my PS4 (regular) to my Win 11 PC. They're both in the same network but currently my internet isn't working properly. I can still successfully ping the PS4 on my PC but when I try to connect it with the RP app, it just tries and tries and tries but never succeeds (the PS4 is on and I'm in my account).

In another thread people say that it should be possible to use RP with a PS5, as long as they're in the same network and they had an internet connection once while setting RP up. Is this not the case with the PS4? Is there a way to get it to work on the PS4 (without using mobile data)?

Remote play laggy despite wired connection

I installed remote play on my Macbook for my PS5 yesterday, and obviously it didn't work great cause I was doing it over WiFi. So today I went out and bought an Ethernet cable (CAT 6) and put that in my router/PS5. I expected that to work, but unfortunately it didn't and my remote play is still laggy, poor quality, and the audio glitches. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Can we play PS5 attaching with Macbook instead of TV/screen

Hi guys,

Basically i don't know much about PS5 but want to get one to play some games (GTA 😝)

the issue is I don't have an external screen or TV in my room.

We have a TV in the living room but i didn't like to stay in the living room for more than 10-15 min. as i have WFH I stay in my room almost 20+ hrs a day and only go out for lunch, dinner and normal chit chat with my parents.

so has anyone tried attaching a PS5 with a Macbook pro for a display? is it a good option?

(i don't wanna purchase any other screen or TV. already have my room full with other stuff and a table with 2 laptops )

Does anyone recommend one of these budget Linux/Android handhelds mainly for Remote play?

I’ve been using my switch to remote play for the last couple of years but the new official updates are a hassle and constantly restart my console. I am looking for cheap handheld that can handle remote play , I’m not looking for top of the tier hardware, I’m looking for something for like the RG Vita or something similar around that price.
