How do the one pedal mode deals with break lights?

Hi guys, I’ve just received my new r5 Techo with the one pedal mode which is from my point of View amazing.
I was wondering how the brake lights works with this mode as you don’t have to brake.
If I just raise my foot from the accelerator, do the light works or it dépends of the pressure on the accelerator pedal?
(Sorry for my english)

Anyone using V2L? Which adapter are you using?

I'm considering getting a V2L adapter because it might be handy, but I was wondering what adapter I should get? Just the Renault one? Or are there cheaper options?

Edit: I'm not from the UK. I didn't get it. I can see the outline of where it would be stored, but its not there.

Charging cable of dashcam

I’m currently in the process of fitting my dashcam in the R5 and would like to route the cable so it’s out of sight. Has anyone managed to do this successfully yet?

The first part – running the cable under the headliner – is no problem. That would be the red line here.

I’d like to fit it to the door frame beneath the rubber seal, as shown here.

However, the rubber seal and the plastic trim underneath are very tight and secure along the edge. I’m worried I might damage the trim. Does anyone have any advice on this?

Connecting My Renault

I’m not sure whether or not I’m missing one of the settings, but my R5 only connects to My Renault when it is either unlocked or on charge.

I can’t find a setting which controls this behaviour.

Anyone know of one?

Return from 17 days of vacations and impressed with battery retention!

After a wonderful vacations in Portugal, Algarve, I return to the spring Lithuania (global warming? Come to Lithuania and enjoy the rain 😀) and had a very good surprise! I left the Renault 5 unplug and with 68% of battery. On the return I had 66%!

Just 2% lost in 17 days is impressive! And having in consideration it was connected to the House wifi even more.

NOTE: not everything is beautiful- the app on my phone never updated. Until I open the car, on arrival, it was still showing the data from 17 days ago.

Anyone else giving up on Intelligent Octopus Go with Renault 5 (UK)

Hi, I've had my Renault 5 since 1 May and love it. I have a granny charger and Octopus as energy supplier. I moved to Intelligent Octopus Go (from Octopus Flux) on 15 June.

Since then, I've had a series of problems with Octopus (failing to) charge/control the R5.

Sometimes it works great, and takes the car up to 80% (in fact usually 81%) without trouble.

But other times it says "Charge unsuccessful - Looks like there was a hiccup during your smart charge, so we couldn't quite reach your charging target" or "Hmm... something went wrong with your charge" or "Unable to control your device - we were unable to control your device"

Worst was one morning I woke to find the car at 92% and still charging - even though the Octopus App was saying "Smart Control Ready". Presumably I wasn't getting a cheap slot as Octopus didn't think it was charging! Presumably the car would have stopped at 100% !

The Charging Insights sometimes show a warning triangle on a session, then later the charge period is airbrushed to look ok.

It's the lack of diagnostics that's most irritating - in the Charge Insights it says "29 Jun 2026, Smart charge, 16h 27m, 2.13 kWh". Really?! They could at least give a bit more data on whether this was during the standard cheap period, or in extra cheap slots, some times, etc. Particularly some diagnostics when it went wrong. There must be some logs somewhere!

Anyway, I'm going back to Octopus Go, where it's more deterministic, the charging is controlled by my granny charger's smart socket feeding a car that's under my control!

So, am I alone having all these difficulties? Is anyone getting 100% success with Octopus Intelligent Go + Granny charger + Renault 5?

Battery indicator light cracks day one

So I picked up my Iconic this morning. Left the forecourt, drove to a nearby garden centre to have a bit of time to go over the instrument panel and noticed these cracks. There’s 4 in total; 2 longer than the others. Called the dealer and took it straight back where the manager had to take a look. Hopefully going in for a fix next week.

The cars great and I love it already but it did put a little dampener on it.

Just a friendly warning for anyone else picking one up soon or thinking of getting one. Check your car thoroughly. 😅

HOME CHARGING

Hi all, I am looking at getting an R5, what size charger is recommended at home? 7.4Kw? 22kw? Won't be doing massive mileage when I do get it.

Winter impact

I’m still researching the Renault 5, which would be my first EV. It’s a toss up between the iconic and techno comfort. I’m just trying to find out who actually uses the heated seats/wheel if the range drops significantly during the colder periods.

Help me out - stats of recent trip

Nowhere can I find out the kw used or miles per kw of the trip I HAVE JUST DONE

The Eco screen gives me average speed and distance and the app gives NOTHING for trip stats

I am sure I seen someone’s picture showing trip stats including miles/kwh etc

I know there is the mi/kwh display as you drive which can be reset per trip but not the same….

interior materials, does the Techno + have fake leather? , it's not disclosed in the specs.

for the iconic five and Roland Garross versions it is clear in the specs and I've seen them in real life but I'm trying to figure out if it is also the case for the Techno+, it's literally a deal breaker for me, I love all the perks of the higher versions but I hate fake leather, I think it should be banned across multiple industries because it's basically programmed obsolescence, specially when used on items that can and will be exposed to extreme weather changes , UV and human sweat. it never ages well and it gets absolutely disgusting relatively quickly.

Climate control and cabin temperature

I've had my new Renault 5 for a few days now and I've noticed something I'm curious about.

Even when it's only around 20°C outside, the cabin gets surprisingly warm. Mine has the black roof, so I'm wondering if that absorbs a lot of heat and makes a noticeable difference.

Another thing I've noticed is the automatic climate control. I have it set to 20°C, but the air coming from the vents doesn't really feel cold. In my previous car, setting the A/C to 20°C felt much colder, even when it was 38°C outside.

Is this normal behavior for the new Renault 5? Does the climate control just work differently, or should I have it checked? I'd be interested to hear if other owners have experienced the same thing.

Car Key survived its first wash cycle :)

https://preview.redd.it/y8ljzcgr4sah1.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=30d9608ab9007b57dce909c52b835ea9e52869a8

Hmm, we accidentally put this through a 40°C wash cycle and 1400 spin. I found all my windows wound down, I assume that's because the water had shorted the buttons, simulating a "long hold" on the button which caused the windows to open. Anyway, after thoroughly drying it out for 24 hours, it still seems to work OK thankfully. I don't recommend trying it, but reassuring to know it survives the mistreatment :)

Renault 5 continuous peep noise when starting up

Hi there, I was wondering if anybody has experienced such a problem with their Renault's before. When I start her up she has a very annoying beep noise and it doesn't stop for like 10 minutes more or less. It goes away after a while of driving. There are no warnings on the dash that might indicate the reason for the long peep

I read something about a faulty alarm module

It is also a brand new
