Reolink NVS16 Motion detection boxes missing!

Hello everyone, I have tried everything to get my motion detection boxes to show during playback on my NVS16 to no avail. All firmware is up to date on the NVR, APP etc.

Each camera has the option enabled on the reolink app "show motion boxes", each camera is set to "Clear" including on playback.

All ports (RTMP,HTTP,HTTPS,RTSP, ONVIF) are enabled in the web gui and local device network settings.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated as I am getting false alerts and have been tweaking the object size and detection zones as well as lowering the individual motion sensitivity for all objects but really would like a visual during playback when an object triggers the alert and also would be great to clearly see a green box over the triggered object :)

Better alternative to Rolink supplied bracket for the battery doorbell

The bracket that comes with the battery video doorbell (v1) is useless. You have to insert a pin into a hole in the top to release it and it just doesn't work. Has anyone found a better alternative available in the UK?

2nd Gen Doorbell requires Home Hub for RTSP and ONVIF?

I’m trying to get rid of my Ring doorbell camera and replace it with a new camera since I’d like to connect it to my already set up NAS with HomeAssistant running on it. I’d like to use Frigate to manage all of the detection features and whatnot, which requires access to RTSP and ONVIF. After doing some research I found the Reolink Doorbell which supports what i’m looking for, so I automatically just bought the 2nd gen since it was the newer version.

However after I set it up, I tried to enter advanced network settings in the desktop app and it wasn’t there. I looked into it and apparently the 2nd gen doesn’t support it, only the 1st gen “wired” and “poe” models support it. I was using the 2nd gen wired though so I don’t get why?

The only way it seems to get RTSP and ONVIF support is to purchase their HomeHub, but I already have my own NAS I’m hosting everything on. Is there a way to get support without the hub or should I just return it and get the first gen?

How do you revoke UID sharing to cameras?

I don't have a NVR, just use the app directly. I just have several individual E1 Pro cameras and one doorbell camera. I shared each one individually via the UID QR code. Now I want to revoke the sharing access. For the doorbell i could click sharing and see the list of shares and click revoke. But for the E1 Pro cameras there is no such thing and it just shows me the QR code when I click share.

I can't find a revoke button anywhere. Can someone help me find it?

Cameras are not connecting to NVR

I bought an NVR with a hard drive and I am trying to get the cameras working, they are hard wired with PoE. I can add the NVR to my desktop client, but it wont show or add any channels. I don't have a monitor that I can hook up to the NVR directly. Is there any other way to do this? On the desktop client I have add devices automatically.

When i look at the NVR channel 1 and 2 where the cameras are plugged in there is an orange light, but no green light. On the Lan there is an orange and a green.

Before the NVR they were hooked up with a PoE splitter, they worked just fine. So the cables seem fine, they are pure copper cat6a. Everything is wired properly. But the cameras are not being power or linked automatically. Does anyone have a solution to this?

The cameras have power, as I can see them move while they track movement.

Reolink Windows App install ?

Has anyone else had issues installing the Reolink app for Windows? I have been getting a window with no options besides "Disagree and Exit" for the past 4 months using the download from the Reolink page https://reolink.com/us/software-and-manual/. Am I missing something?

Which Reolink to buy

Looking to replace my crappy Blink cameras with a wireless system that stores video so I don't get all the constant notifications. Based on posts here, I've narrowed it down to Reolink. Several posts recommend getting the NVR but I want Wireless. Attached is the one I'm looking at - wireless, solar. It has 1TB local storage so as long as I can access 1-2 weeks worth of videos and potentially download clips if need be then I'll be set. And no subscription or any recurring costs.

Is this a good Reolink system to get based on what I'm looking for? And is the home hub a good option or do I need NVR? Thanks in advance.

Possible to fix torn power cable?

I vandal jumped up and tore apart the power cable on my E1 Outdoor Pro camera. I had shoved the coupling up through the conduit behind the caulk in the pic so it tore the wire apart on the camera side. Does Reolink make anything to splice it back together?

edit: this is not POE, these cameras have ethernet connectors or power connectors. Thats irrelevant anyway because it was broken on the wire between the camera and the connectors.

Account required?

Hi,

I've read good things about Reolink cameras, especially since I've been told the firmware is updated frequently (which is very important for security).

I wanted to ask. A friend told me you can use the app without an account and pair the camera with the app with a simple serial/QR scan.

But doesn't this reduce the device's security?

Can you explain and confirm if this is actually possible? What features do I lose if I pair without an account? Only the cloud part on the website? (Which I don't actually want to minimize the attack surface.)

So far, I've only had Xiaomi and EZVIZ cameras, which all required an account, and I'm trying to figure out which is better in terms of security, updates, and protection.

I know it would be better not to connect them to the internet, but in this case, I don't have many customization options due to my very basic router.

Thanks

NTP Server

I have a Reolink E1 Pro which I have isolated from the internet. I'd like to set the ntp server as my local ntp server but I can't find anywhere to put it. I've looked in the Riolink desktop client as well as the android app but can't find it anywhere. If I don't have the time set propery all the files have the wrong data and time and the timestamps on the videos vanish.

Can somone me in the right direction please?

Doorbell camera going offline

This is starting to be nonstop, doorbell going offline. I’ve ordered a range extender for my WiFi, it’s the furthest device from the router, but still not far, it’s only a 9000sq ft condo. Is there anything else I should be looking at?

Mystery camera appeared

Any idea how this would’ve happened? I suddenly have an extra camera on my Reolink app. I’m not able to access it, but the fact that it’s there at all weirded me out a little.
