Later Sears from 1994 to 2024, 5 years back in April 2021 they downsized to 2 functioning sales floors. This was the last location in the state of Washington to shut down on December 15th of 2024 and it was in terrible condition. As of the day of this post, the last Sears on the West Coast is at the Sun Valley Shopping Center in Concord, the last in California, one of 5 left in the United States of America.
F&N stands for Frederick and Nelson. Founded in 1890, 4 years after Sears was founded as R.W. Sears Watch Company and 2 years prior to the start of Sears Roebuck and Company, F&N was once a department store chain in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. They closed up shop in 1992. Meanwhile the Sears department store itself was originally located in Renton before 1993. This anchor itself was built in 1968 and location in the Southcenter Mall opened sometime in March 1994. Anyone have any grand opening pictures of this location, along with the Sears in the Spokane Valley Mall store that opened in 1997 and closed down on February 16th of 2020 ?

Plastered in an entry way into Kmart plaza in Vernon, CT back in 1975 when Kmart opened its doors.

This location opened between 1976-1984 and closed on February 1st, 2005. Was vacant and boarded up for a while, and then became a bank by 2009.
Located at Lafayette Square on Rte. 30 near Rte. 31 in Vernon, Connecticut
This Mickey D's opened sometime in 1984 and was in that location for about twenty years before it moved in 2004 to Rte. 31 across the street from Burger King that is near the highway on I-84.
That mansard roof building was later demolished and Dunkin Donuts as well as few other businesses in that multi-purpose building currently occupy that site.
Can anyone try to colorize this black and white picture? It originally had a brown roof until it was repainted red in later years. Looks like that pic was taken shortly before it relocated.
This location at Tri-City Plaza opened in October 1976 which replaced W.T. Grant department store. This store closed when Caldor went out of business in 1999. This location was eventually occupied first by Ames (also went out of business three years later), Price Chopper supermarket and then (currently) ShopRite supermarket.
Big Kmart -- store #3216
That small fire inside that Kmart occurred on July 27, 2000. Here you can see pictures of what Big Kmart was like in 2000 while showing signs of fire as firefighters were trying to extinguish smoke inside a few aisles that were impacted by smoke. Also featured are a few newspaper snippets from the Hartford Courant.
