Cheryl has one of if not the saddest life in the show

Just did a full rewatch and realised.. damn! Her life sucks, if I had her life I’d throw myself under the ice too.

In season 6, she’s the only one to be left alone during the final scene essentially being the one to sacrifice it all and it really cements her as such a lonely person through and through.

The only person (pre Toni) who actively protected her and showed her love got killed by her own father who then died himself.

Her mother is physically and emotionally abusive I can’t keep track of everything she’s done to Cheryl but a few things I can list are
- moving a doll around to make her think she’s insane
- sending her to conversion therapy
- blaming her for Jason’s death and saying it should be her

Then she lost Toni and spent like 7 years cooped up in her mansion.

(Not counting s7 because they don’t have their memories, although Penelope and Clifford are stil awful)

Who Did Everyone Think The Killer Was In Season 1 As It Was First Airing?

Just what the title says lol, I didn't watch or really know anything about the show when it first came out so I'm curious to hear who everyone thought it was

Season 6 Episode 4. The Witching Hour(s)

I am currently on my third watchthrough of Riverdale and once again have experienced the pure joy of this episode. It is without a doubt my favourite episode of Riverdale, the fourth in the Season 6 Rivervale mini-series. I am going to put it out there and declare it an absolute masterpiece. Why do I bestow upon it this ultimate accolade ? For many reasons. Let us start with the absolutely stellar performance of Madelaine Petsch, who portrays three generations of Blossom women in the most skilful and nuanced way. Madelaine should have been awarded an Emmy or whatever the appropriate award is for her incredible acting in this episode. She just lights it up.

There are other factors that elevate this episode into the stratosphere. The choice of music was perfect and incredibly moving, the lighting was excuisite, the scene framing and camera work were masterful. Oh yes and a certain young Witch from Greendale shows up towards the end. In short , a simply magical episode.

I hate this so much i’m sorry

To preface this statement I have watched all of the seasons and I LOVE the show as a whole (last season felt a bit redundant) but this last episode is the ABSOLUTE WORST. Sorry but what happened to leaving things to the viewers imagination? It’s “tying loose ends” mania up in here and I hate it omggggg. It quite literally ruins the mystery of the show and obviously the characters because I really don’t need to know that betty and reggie ended up finishing fixing the car or if Fangs died on the road but his hits supported Midge and the children. I can imagine what happened MYSELF. The whole episode was so frustrating hearing them mention something in order to tie a “loose end” every 5 SECONDS! AGHHHHHHHH 😭😭😭😭 Also tell me why betty’s supposed daughter looks nothing like her?… this whole episode i have never hated betty so much: and how did they pass away? -wait don’t tell me untill a little later…and what about…oh my bye who? I DONT NEED TO KNOWWWWW BRUHHHHHH

bonus points for archie‘s line “ronnie just dropped an atomic bomb on us” 😒>!!<

I keep trying to like Veronica but I can’t

Getting upset at the IDEA of Archie shooting her father?! Um yeah he’s only tried to kill and disappear your boyfriend COUNTLESS time!?! Is it really that shocking that maybe he’d try to take him out??? Your dad sucks! I’m sorry she just is so insufferable to me, the ultimate pick me and can be so spineless. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m open to people changing my mind, I’m only on season 3 and haven’t ever made it this far before lol. I just can’t with her idk.

Is This Show Going To Make Me Anxious?

I'm looking for a new show to watch and I want to try and get into Riverdale, I asked a while back abt scary stuff in this show but I wanted to specifically ask abt stuff that might make me anxious so here were are lol.

I know there are serial killers and stuff like that and my anxiety tends to be triggered by stuff that could acc happen irl (even if it's insanely unlikely lol) so I'm a bit worried this show is going to make me anxious if the threats are realistic.

Would this show make me anxious? Are the threats realistic enough that it might trigger my anxiety? Any info would be awesome because I really want to watch it lol

Does the show get scarier?

I just started watching (I'm 3 mins into episode 2) and I'm getting lowkey freaked out by how Jason's body looks 😭😬. I'm such a wuss when it comes to these things so idk if I can keep watching if it gets scarier or more disturbing than this.

Does the show get scarier and more disturbing (or are there more icky things like Jason's body)? Or does it stay about the same throughout?

A Few Thoughts & Questions From A First Time Viewer :)

I started watching the show yesterday and I'm on episode 3 rn! I've really been enjoying the teen drama aspects but I did get freaked out by the sudden jump-cuts to the face of Jason's corpse. (I made a post asking about this and you all were really helpful!)

I have one last question about the corpse thing and just a few random observations because why not lol

My question is: Is this AI overview correct in saying that the jump cuts to the corpse stop after the first 2 episodes? Asking because I don't really trust it to be correct lol so I thought I'd ask real people haha.

https://preview.redd.it/wwa3wreic2ah1.png?width=1338&format=png&auto=webp&s=a94286e54f000cf097419ab719dc658a5931b8f9

And a few of my random observations:

 • Does anyone else get a bit of an incestuous vibe from Jason & Cheryl's relationship? Like, I have a younger brother and I'd never be drinking from the same milkshake while staring into his eyes lmaooo or holding hands while taking an oddly romantic walk by the river
 • I kinda wish that Kevin would have a bit more depth than just the gay best friend. He honestly feels like a bit of a stereotype imo...
 • Also why do Betty and Veronica have such good chemistry? Like, as of episode 3 they have the best chemistry out of any of the 'actual' couples lmao.

Anyways any answers would be great about the Jason question lol

[S1 SPOILERS] Question about FP's innocence

Season 2 was highly revolved around the kids trying to prove FP Jones innocence to get him out of jail. But FP was still highly involved in Jasons murder. He kidnapped a kid and locked him in his basement for him to be shot. Then he hid Jasons body and covered up for the murderer. It seems like the writers were trying to convince us that Sherif Keller was corrupt for imprisoning FP Jones. It especially confused me when Jughead and Betty asked for mercy from Cheryl and were insulted when she didn't initially grant it. Did I miss something or didn't FP Jones assist in the murder of a teenage boy and essentially ruin Cheryl's life?

I think riverdale had some of the best horror plotlines

Now i am not a big riverdale fan, never have never will be but one thing i think the show gets a lack of appreciation for is that when riverdale leaned horror it was really good. Some of my favorite plotlines were the black hood, the farm cult, pollys death and the autore all of which i thought were very scary and genuinely did creep me out a bit. I think they should of kept the autore plotline longer as i think it was the scariest the show got for me, im really into psychological horror and the thought of someone recreating deaths with animated masks of you doing it is terrifying to me and i really think it should of been for the whole of season 5 as it had me hooked. Other plotlines were okay but i have to be honest the gargoyle king was my least fav but its just up to personal preferance.

Thoughts on Percival Pickens?

Is it just me or does anyone else find Percival Pickens weirdly attractive?

I’ve mostly heard from people about how they hate this character so much, but I loved him as an antagonist. Much better than Hiram, character arc-wise. He is an embodiment of evil as opposed to daddykins beefing with teenagers.

But as I’m going through S6 I can’t help but feel like Percival has this commanding aura that’s really attractive! (He is still an annoying villain ofc, not denying that)

*On a side note, never thought I’d say this, but I like this show now that it has officially gone off the rails lol.

What if... That was the way it was supposed to be?

Ok, such a click-baity title, but I think I have a cool theory.

I notice a lot of people saying the characters don't grow, that there are so many plot holes, and that the show is very disjointed, and time makes no sense. However, what if that was the point?

What if we think of each season of Riverdale as its own comic book? Not a linear series, but a set of comics in a box?

What if the show takes place on the shelf of an Archie Comics collection and every season is its own special issue? Riverdale comics have been super disjointed in the past. Archie goes horror. Archie meets superheroes. So what if they were trying to treat the show the same way?

Nothing was supposed to make sense together. Each season has vague references to the others, but they act as separate entities, like a comic book series.

This theory can be supported by how the audience thinks about the seasons. They're always separated. "Season 1: Jason. Season 2: Black Hood. Season 3: Cult." It reads like separate comic book issues, you know what I mean? Each season wraps up the seperate, unique conflict in time for the next season.

Also, if you watch the show's seasons out of order, it still makes sense. The show doesn't really have many elements that carry over into other seasons. Sure, Betty is haunted by her darker half, and sure, Veronica has a conflict with her dad that stems back a season, but the time isn't particularly important, and there's not much change.

This also explains the issues with time within the series. One moment, Archie's driving a Thunderbird; next, they all have social media. Archie comics have been around for over 80 years, and they flip-flop between eras. I've seen recent comics that have created their issues in a 50s vibe, but others that take place in the present day.

In essence, the show is 7 comic books come to life, not a connected show.

Thoughts?

If Riverdale wasn’t so unrealistic, how do you think Cheryl would be? Also is she a character you would want to have as a friend?

I honestly think that Cheryl is a ride or die when it comes to the core 4 and Toni.

Thoughts as a first time viewer.

I recently finally got around to watching Riverdale and am halfway through season 3. So far I’m really enjoying it, when I didn’t think i would last this long. Season one was kinda slow and not a lot happened. A lot of episode plots felt rather thin and it got a bit boring at times. It really picks up with S2 and 3. :) …..I’m loving the vibe of S3 so far. The GnG thing is cool, although I’m disappointed it’s turning out to not be so supernatural. ha ha!

The girls in this show make it. Veronica and Cheryl are my favourite characters by a considerable margin. I love how Veronica is a fashion queen and just goes around calling everyone out on their crap. Although the whole “getting involved in my mob family’s business” thing is questionable. A bit hypocritical there.

I’m a little disappointed Cheryl isn’t as catty as she is in S1, but there’s a good reason for it I guess. And Betty….well, you don’t mess with Betty. She’s savage. :O

I’m not a fan of Archie or Jughead. Jughead‘s a know it all who clearly doesn't know half of what he thinks he does. Archie is a wanker. I can’t stand how he regularly carries on like a twat, yet everyone is always saying what a great guy he is. Ugh! …….He just tried to fight someone at work because they told him to take a break, lol.

Hirem Lodge is a massive dick, but I love to hate him.

We need more Pop! ….and more Toni. :)

What happened to the other two pussy cats? They just vanished. :(

Riverdale Parents

its kinda ironic how most characters have highly insufferable parents/families and archie has undeniably the best 2 parents overall and is himself considered a somewhat insufferable/dense character
