Eventual upgrades

Hey yo, I upgraded to a 2000 Road King Classic at the beginning of the year. I love it. I’m not new to the Harley/bike scene but I am still learning. My question is: obviously the older engine is smaller, but it does the job for me just fine currently. What are the worthwhile upgrades to do engine wise? Thanks in advance!

From Sportster SuperLow to Anniversary Road King

Thank you for all the advice yesterday on which bike I should get to move up from my Sportster. I found an immaculate 100th Anniversary Road King today and she is now mine. Runs like a top and is smooth as glass. considered a dyna with touring package and heritage softtail as well, but this bike is so comfortable to me.

My first Harley! Induction problems

Hello all! I’ve been riding for 45+ years and I’ve always had imported bikes. They’ve been good to me, but I’ve always wanted a Harley. I’ve been especially attracted to the road king classic and my beautiful ‘05 recently came to me. I love her. Nearly every mod the previous owner has done is exactly what I would have done. The 16 inch tall apes are a bit tall for me, but they have grown on me a bit. We will see.

The problem with this machine- it was noticeably running lean. It had a aftermarket K&N filter and full Reinhart pipes so I assumed- not tuned. I took it into a shop, purchased a tuner & had it tuned.

Still was not running right. Occasional backfire at startup and was making a caugh “pfft!” through the induction when rolling the throttle on slow. I found the problem by spraying carburetor cleaner at the gasket where the manifold meets the rear cylinder, nearly shutting the engine down.

I took it into the shop to have gaskets swapped out, but that did not improve the leak, so I picked up an aftermarket S&S intake, manifold, and gaskets and expect them to be here next week.

Every time I took it to the shop, I had the thought why am I not doing this myself?? busy schedule, but I should be learning the ins and outs of this bike.

Anything y’all have to offer would be much appreciated. Really hoping this is the last round for this issue to get the bike running properly 🤞🏼🤞🏼

2025 Roadking

Bought a 2025 Road King with a whopping 83 miles on it three weeks ago, and I'm already having a blast - literally. Had the dealership do the 1k service, and three days and 400 miles later, the floorboards are vibrating like a wonky adult toy on high speed in 1st or 2nd gear between 1800–2300 RPM (think 25mph cruising in a neighborhood). When she's hot, a throttle blip in neutral sends vibrations straight up my spine into my teeth! The dealership insists it's normal. Is it?

So far I only have rear air ride going on but I'm thinking now would be a good time to install a center stand, what options are out there that are NOT electric?

Do they sell any sort of manual operating center stand that is actually for a lowered application and not for lifting the back tire off the ground?
