I went to a local Best Buy to check out all the new products. I really wanted to like the Fold8 but with having the S26U I just can't. I did a side-by-side camera test with the Fold8 and the Fold8 Ultra and I'm sorry those zoom pictures are straight Ass with anything more than a 3x zoom. Unless Samsung updates the Cameras on the Fold9 I'll be staying with the slab phones.

Other than the screens being larger the Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra is a downgrade in every way compared to the S26U.

-Slower charging speeds

-Fold8 has small battery, same on the 8 Ultra

-No privacy Display

Due a upgrade from my flip 6. Love the flips but I really have nursed this phone been so careful. Surely its just luck ive had no problems. Is tbe new 8 wide more resistant? Or should I go back to the slab and get the 26ultra?

Ive been contemplating a switch from the iphone to a samsung ultra since a month now.

After going through the reviews of the ultras S24/25/26 in great detail - i find myself leaning towards the S24U.

Priorities for me are the camera, display and the s-pen. I find the S25U to be passable. The S26U seems okay but from what I'm seeing in the reviews - i find the camera of the S26U to be on the softer side. The photos seem a bit bland. Something about the camera exposure and color science in the photos is off/underwhelming for my liking. The S24U on the other hand i feel takes much better, contrasty, punchy and crisp photos.

This is where I'm drawing a blank! Am i wrong in thinking the camera on the S26 ultra pales in comparison to the S24U? Looking for some real-world/usage-driven insights here on the Indian models. Im also seeing reports of people complaining about the S24U post the UI update. Are these severe problems or cosmetic?

Lastly, in your opinion, what makes the S24U better compared to the S26/25U. Do you think this would be value purchase that can carry through for a year or two? - advise please. 🙏

Title says it. Looking to upgrade next month and have been leaning towards the s25ultra due to its pleasing look and i like how the photos are more natural looking on it, the display looks crisp and amazing as well. From what I've heard, the s26 ultra is almost exactly like the 25ultra but faster, has privacy display and faster charging. Now, i personally could care less about the privacy display ( hear people complaining about the display being not as good due to it, idk if that's true?) I saw photo comparisons from both phones and I do like how s26ultra takes better photos in dim light or at night. I'm worried about FOMO on the s26ultra if I go with the 25ultra.

Will I really be missing out on anything if I go with the s25ultra?

I really think this is a no-brainer if even 75% of the rumors about the S27U come to pass.

What more could anyone ask for or expect?

I bought a brand new s26 ultra a week ago, and the battery disappoints me very much. With no more than 3 hours of use, it discharges 30% easily. I have watched many videos, changed many settings for battery optimization, but have not seen any significant difference. I have also changed many of the apps settings, like background data usage and restricted storage usage. I'm starting to think that maybe it's due to the set-up because I transfered everything from my old phone, I didn't have to do anything myself, everything transfered automatically, apps, login info, accounts, wallpapers, everything, so I think that maybe some kind of background activity also transfered? And so it's draining my battery? Idk, but if any of you have any recommendations, please comment on this!

What's your average SOT on S26 ultra ?

I'm thinking to buy it. Just want to know about the battery timing

I hear conflicting stories about purchasing the s26 Ultra from Samsung Direct or from T-Mobile. Somethings being said that getting it from T-Mobile has slightly different features like 12Gb of Ram instead of 16Gb and a smaller storage. I myself like the fullback, like 16Gb of ram and a full terabytes of storage. My question is it true and should I buy Samsung direct. Please leave your comments below. Thank you.

For some background info, this is my first Flagship since the iPhone 6s.

I've owned mostly mid rangers for quite a while, but when the time come, ATT offered me a trade in value of $800. I couldn't pass it up tbh.

I am, and always have been in love with androids way of customization, and I've used this OS for quite some time.

Let's get into it!

I am 2 months in. The initial "OMG NEW PHONE I CANT PUT IT DOWN" or as most call it, the honeymoon phase has ceased, To an extent. I still find myself astonished by the phone more often than not.

I do a lot on my phone. And I mean a lot!

Mobile Photography, most of that editing is done on my phone. I make YouTube videos, recording, and editing is also done on my phone. Gaming, Web dev, etc etc.

Man, if this phone hasn't hit every check box that I needed in a phone, I'd be surprised.

As a Linux user, of course I want the utmost control over customization, and Samsung delivered. Good lock, and good guardian cover almost all of my theming needs. Without much work at all. It was seamless to have my phone looking how I wanted it. Without any headaches.

All this paired with this beautiful, LTPO AMOLED Display and I'm literally hooked. That paired with the new privacy display, which I didn't think id be using nearly as much as I do, it's amazing. Being able to choose the resolution, dull down the hz to conserve battery, change charging duration, etc etc. the list goes on.

Digging into the camera, this is where I really was skeptical until I got to tinkering.

They give you basically full control over it.

Paired with camera assist I was able to do everything I could ever want to do, examples include, moon shots, although not important to a lot of people, I thoroughly enjoy it.

Portrait photography is top tier. Scenery and landscape photography are all checked. From 200mp all the way down to the 12mp. I'm able to do anything, capture anything, however I want it to look.

The downside to that is, it isn't plug and play. To get that perfect picture, you do have to do some tinkering. Some, ifnot a lot of people will not like that. Pro for me, con for some.

Gallery. On my other phones I usually get third party gallery apps to do what I need. Not with Samsung. The gallery app built in with the AI features I've come to not only love, but now need. It's hands down

From deleting objects that hinder my photos, to just easy to find, easy to use UI. I find myself not even thinking about fossify gallery.

Performance, gaming, editing, etc.

As we all know, this thing is a powerhouse. The snapdragon 8 elite gen 5 doesn't disappoint!

I play games like division resurgence, where winds meet, Warframe, the list goes on. No stuttering, the phone doesn't feel hot to the touch even after playing for a while, I don't have to worry about the battery dying quickly, although it's only 5000mah, as opposed to some other flag ships. This delivers crazy performance and battery life. 10/10.

For every day tasks, multi tasking, doom scrolling, what have you. You will not have any issues as far as any of that goes. Like I previously said, the display alone is enough to keep my eyes on the prize. And paired with 12-16 gigs of ram. You won't have any problems with any of this .

The design, build quality, and appearance.

I have the black s26 ultra. Although I didn't get the chance to try the titanium frame, this aluminum one seems to be sturdy, and durable. At least compared to every other phone I've had, it feels like a tank.

The design is simply beautiful, little bezels, great screen to body ratio, the only con is that the cameras, without a case, will scratch and make the phone very wobbly? Yeah we'll use that word.

Cons, sadly , there is some.

Lack of magsafe was kind of a bummer. I do like rocking no case sometimes, although i don't go out of the house without one. It still would've been nice to have.

The camera processing in point and shoot scenarios like I said, could be better,

Users who sold or got rid of their S26 Ultra ...why did you do it?

I didn't even buy it in the 1st place as it didn't feel like an upgrade over the S25 Ultra I use.

I currently use a S24U ultra and quite happy with it except for the weight and battery backup. i have a 500$ cash voucher to upgrade to any phone . I'm thinking of trading in my S24U and get either a S26ULTRA or a Xfold5 . I use Dex extensively bit didn't find the S26Ultra to much of an upgrade. i wanted to own a fold phone but was concerned with the building quality and replacement cost if it's damaged . both of them are the same price Samsung has 12 gb/256GB and vivo has 16gb/512GB . what do you recommend I do.
