How crazy will it be this weekend? Does parking fill up?

Haven’t been in years, but thinking about driving down from LA this weekend to take my son for the first time. Does the parking lot usually fill up by a certain time? Does the extra parking and taking the shuttle usually work out ok?

The pandas are flirting!

Saw a video on NPR’s Instagram this morning that the 2 pandas are taking an interest in one another. This is really exciting news!

Zoo Soft Drink Refills?

I know if you buy a Souvenir Sipper (the big one with the top handle) you get free refills on day of purchase. If you buy the Souvenir Fountain Beverage (the clear one with the bendy straw) you get discounted refills. But if you buy the Fountain Beverage Single (the aluminum one) do you get any discount on refills?

BTW, I noticed that all the online menus for the Zoo and Safari Park now have the prices removed.

The new coalition of cheetahs!

Sorry about the quality, but they were all the way in the back. Finally got to do my “Ultimate Safari” on Saturday and they were definitely the highlight!

Roar & Snore or Ultimate Safari, which is more worth it?

As per the title of my post, I’m kinda torn between the 2. I know the Ultimate Safari costs quite a bit more than the Roar & Snore, but I’m prepared to fork out the cash if it offers a more special experience and exclusive experience if that makes any sense haha. No kids, I’ll be going with my wife as part of our honeymoon (we’re not from the States)

Is anyone able to share how the Ultimate Safari is like? How much can it be customised, and do they bring you around to any behind the scenes or special/restricted areas you can’t normally visit?

Thanks!

Meet the cutest coalition 🐆

Get ready for these curious cubs to race into your heart. Earlier this year, first-time mom Kelechi welcomed four male cheetah cubs at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. After spending some time growing and bonding, the brothers may now be seen in their grassy savanna habitat at African Outpost.

These siblings, or “coalition,” are the first cheetah cubs born at the Safari Park since 2020. They’re increasing the global population of their vulnerable species and supporting the genetic diversity of cheetahs worldwide.

Sprint on over to the Safari Park to spot these rambunctious youngsters.

When not visible at African Outpost, you may also be able to connect with them when you book an Ultimate Safari.

These inca terns at the Safari Park are looking pretty regal

Just saw these on their Instagram. Has anyone else seen them when visiting?

First for me, and now I must go back and relive those millennial mustache days.

The Beach Boys and the San Diego Zoo collaborated to make this video of San Diego Zoo animals over the album Pet Sounds. This is to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Pet Sounds, the album cover photo of which was taken in the children's zoo.

10+ Big group visit

My friend groups of multiple families would want to visit the zoo on Sunday 5/31. Could the kind people on Reddit share some tips on how to get affordable tickets or coupon codes with us?

Thank y’all!

Can I (more or less) do the zoo in 6 hours?

For context, I'm coming with 2 kids who can probably give 6 hours to the zoo before they're melting down. I'm a little overwhelmed by the size of the zoo. Can we do it well enough? (I'm sure a lot depends on how fast/slow you walk.)

Anything we HAVE to hit? Anything we should skip?
