POSTPONED: Today’s Arts Advocacy Events

"Dear Friends,

Out of respect for our community following the tragic shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego, the planned arts and culture rally and City Council meeting scheduled for today have been postponed.

Our hearts are with the Islamic community and with all those affected by this terrible act of violence. In moments like these, we are reminded that the strength of San Diego comes from our compassion for one another and our commitment to standing together in grief, care, and solidarity.

We are deeply grateful to the first responders and community members supporting those impacted today. We will let you know when the rally and City Council budget meeting are rescheduled.

onPeak Provides Reason for Having Credit Card that Expires After August 2026

I'm not sure it's a great reason, especially since the reservation deposit was charged immediately, but this is what they said:

The reservation required a credit card with an expiration date after August 2026 to ensure the card would remain valid through the event dates and any applicable hotel deposit or guarantee periods. Hotels generally require a valid card on file that will not expire prior to the event in order to secure the reservation.

"Dual rums and aged sherry provide a sophisticated backbone to this deceptively light punch. Madagascar vanilla and tropical pineapple are perfectly balanced by lime and aromatic bitters, all but ensuring you'll want another sip."

  • ¾ oz Madagascar Vanilla Syrup
  • 1 ½ oz Caribbean blended rum
  • ½ oz Overproof Jamaican rum
  • ½ oz East India Solera sherry
  • 1 oz Pineapple juice
  • ¾ oz Fresh lime juice
  • 4 dashes aromatic bitters

Add all ingredients to a shaker. Add ice and shake for 10-15 seconds. Double strain over crushed ice. Serve in a hurricane glass garnished with a mint sprig and pineapple frond.
