I’m a woman photographer coming to the city soon and I would love to photograph the Forsyth fountain at night, but I’ll be alone is it safe at night? Or should I just take photos during the day.

I'm on a road trip for a family reunion and my dog is not doing well. He can barely walk and is declining rapidly. Im not familiar with this area and would like to know where I can get him put to sleep (and a private cremation) for a reasonable price. Thanks in advance for the help.

Is there a spot with an incredible, weird, meaningful, or overlooked piece of history that people just walk right past?

Went to the Greek festival yesterday and had a gyro. Now I have symptoms of food poisoning. Anyone else?

Btw I don’t recommend regardless. The gyro was terrible, cold, and overpriced.

I popped in for gas, joked around a bit with the clerk, and she reminded me (okay told me, because I truly had no idea) that I can get a freebie on Fridays and a medium coffee every weekday with my rewards number.

So I have an iced coffee and a cinnamon roll for my midnight mission to nab the kids after marching band tonight.

Seems reasonable to me, especially given the cost of everything lately!

I’ve been spending some time around the Savannah River and the downtown area recently, and it got me thinking about all the ongoing dredging projects. I'm curious to hear what other locals think about what's going on with the river right now.

A few things I’ve been wondering about:

1. How much do you actually know or hear about the dredging activities? What's your general take on it?
2. Have you noticed any big changes to the riverbanks, shoreline, or downtown landscape over the last few years? If you have, what do you think is driving those changes?
3. Overall, how do you feel about the state of the local environment around here? Do any of these changes actually impact your daily life or how you feel about living in the area?

Just looking to start a discussion and see what the community's perspective is. Curious to hear your thoughts!

Kitten season is not slowing down, our volunteers work hard and are exhausted. We have many young kittens going through enormous amounts of canned kitten food. Who is funding this venture? Everything I can find online says the GDOT is footing the bill with zero contributions from the Ports. It's all from 2024, though. Anyone with more info out there?

We aren’t runners, but my wife and I used to go cheer on the R&R Marathon runners. Then we would go listen to the bands afterwards. I remember Phillip Phillips playing. What bands do you remember seeing?
