Greek festival possible food poisoning?

Went to the Greek festival yesterday and had a gyro. Now I have symptoms of food poisoning. Anyone else?

Btw I don’t recommend regardless. The gyro was terrible, cold, and overpriced.

Sad about my weight

TW: weight loss, weight gain.
Considering trying for a second soon, but I’m so unhappy with my weight. I was around 215 pounds when I got pregnant with my first, gave birth at around 250 pounds, and was down to 225 pounds only a couple weeks after giving birth. I tried to stay active during pregnancy, especially in the second trimester, and I think a lot of the weight I gained was fluid retention (I was so swollen in the third trimester). But because of PPD I started taking Paxil about a month postpartum, and over the course of the next few months gained 40 pounds. I am now 265 and the heaviest I’ve ever been.

I worked my ass off for years to lose weight. My heaviest used to be 250, and it took 2-3 years of slow, consistent, hard work to lose 40 pounds. I cannot believe that all of that hard work was gone in a matter of months. I’m still so upset about it.

I stopped the Paxil 3 or 4 months ago bc I couldn’t take the weight gain anymore. I wish I had been able to stop sooner but every time I tried I had a mental breakdown. Anyway, I was hopeful that I would lose some weight as a result of stopping the medication, but no. Just still floating at 265.

Anyway, my daughter is turning one at the end of September. We want one more and want them to be close in age. We’re trying to decide between trying again starting next month or waiting until maybe May of next year to start trying. Waiting until next year would give me more time to lose weight. Realistically, I could probably only lose a few pounds in the next month, if that, as I want to lose it in a healthy way.

I just don’t know what to do. I have this fantasy of them being only a year apart in school (if we have a summer 2027 baby, then they’ll only be a year apart in school even though they’d be 22ish months apart). But I’m so scared that if I get pregnant at this weight that it’ll be even harder to lose weight later on, since they say you’re not supposed to try to lose weight while pregnant. I am trying to establish a routine of being more active now. I love pickleball and have been getting back into it. Maybe if I get into the habit now, I can keep doing it and won’t gain so much weight with this next pregnancy, or maybe it will just be fluid retention again. Idk. Has anyone had any experiences similar to anything I’ve described? I don’t have a lot of plus sized friends unfortunately so nobody seems to get it.

So is my baby just going to get sick every week now?

Our baby is almost nine months old and began an in-home daycare when she was 4 months old. It was just her and one other infant in the infant room, so she never got sick. However, we made the decision several weeks ago to move her to a larger daycare because of issues with reliability, security, and also I just felt like I was being lied to often about the number of staff there (often times it seemed like only the owner was there taking care of both infants and all the toddlers, which I thought was illegal?).

Anyway, she started at the new daycare a month ago and immediately got sick with 4 viruses at once. That put her out for 2 weeks. The next week she went back and got hit with a stomach virus. This week, it’s HFMD.

Idk what to do at this point. Is this just how it’s going to be for the foreseeable future? It’s not even flu season yet, so if this is how bad it is in the summer, then I can’t imagine what the winter may look like. In the past five weeks, we’ve paid a total of $1500 for daycare, and she’s only been able to go half the time. Not to mention the amount of work my husband and I have had to miss.

Should we look into smaller daycares that are NOT in-home? Her current daycare has 12 infants in one classroom with two teachers (Georgia sucks if you didn’t already know that). We’re even considering church daycare even though we don’t want to raise her with religious messages. But I just don’t see how this current situation of her getting sick weekly is sustainable.

So my question is, would this even make a difference? Theoretically, the less children she’s around the less likely she is to be sick, but parents have also told me, “If she’s going to daycare, she’s going to get sick no matter what.” Yes, but this often??

Also, does it get better at some point, and when? I like this daycare and don’t want to change, but as I said this just isn’t sustainable. We can’t keep missing work like this. And I feel so bad for our baby because it’s no fun being sick most of the time. Her personality has been coming out more, and all this back-to-back sickness has dimmed her light and has also made her sleep even worse than it already was. We are all running on fumes.

Always feeling like I need a break from baby but then I miss her when I’m away from her

I’m a FTM to an 8-month baby girl, and I seem to be regressing lately, mental health wise. This past month has been especially rough. Our baby got sick for the first time with 4 viruses at once and was out of daycare for two whole weeks. My husband and I both work (I even work two jobs), so we had to miss a lot of work to take care of her on top of being sick ourselves. Fortunately she is better now, but all of that really stressed me out.

I have this thing where I often feel like I need a break from her, but when I’m away from her I miss her. Like crying from missing her. And feeling this huge anxiety about her safety. It feels like this instinctual urge that I’ve never experienced before to protect her at all costs. I couldn’t sleep last night because I had so much anxiety about something bad happening to her one day, and when I finally did fall asleep, she woke up and I couldn’t get her back to sleep bc I was sobbing bc I was so tired and had to tag my husband in. Which I then felt bad about bc I so often have to tag him in on his nights “off” (we alternate nights on baby duty). So then I was sobbing about feeling like a failure on top of the exhaustion.

I know I’m suffering from PPD and probably PPA too. I’ve dealt with depression for most of my life and have tried many medications (they don’t work for me), I’ve been in therapy for years, I’ve even tried ketamine therapy (obviously had to stop during pregnancy and breastfeeding). The only SSRI that helped me some was Paxil, but I gained 40 pounds in 3 months on it, which is a lot for someone who is already plus sized. So comments like “you have PPD, please see your doctor” are not helpful, especially since we moved to a new town recently and I can’t get in with a doctor until August. I am asking if anyone can relate or share their story so that I don’t feel so alone.
