Brownie was originally going to be part of a pair with a near-mirror sculpt: For some reason, Schleich re-used the general pose she's in from a previous stallion. As a result, there were originally going to be two near-matching ones. However, (like with all of my repaints), she developed her own identity while I was working with her. In this case, a confident, stacked-shoe-free strider heading off... Somewhere or another.

Was this version of Arelan ever released?

The first photo is a screenshot from Schleich’s 2010 catalogue. Any search for “Schleich 70429” yields the second picture of Arelan. Could this first image have just been an unreleased prototype?

Brands that coordinate with Schleich?

Perhaps a niche question. I got my daughter the Schleich Lakeside Country House and Stable for her birthday last year. She loves it and still plays with it everyday so I want to add some figures and accessories for her birthday this year. She’s also super into babies so I’d love to add a baby figurine, crib, etc. I’m not seeing any through Schleich so I’m wondering if anyone has any brands or companies they know of that are similar in scale and style to help us add on to her little world. Thanks in advance! ☺️

I have a really hot hot take.

Okay so for the past few months I've been collecting Schleich horses from late 90's to early 2000's and some from the 2010's. I geniuely don't like most of the later Schleich horses.

Well, today I saw the new 2027 Schleich horses and I can't help but to not really understand the hate.

I mean yeah, some of the blue painted horses even though they're supposted to be grey are models I will have a beef with because what the f, BUT I find some of the 2027 models so pretty. I think that some of them are better than mosg horses after early 2000's, maybe 2010's. Geniuely. They look way more realistic after YEARS and the paint job on some of the molds looks better than on many Schleich horses from recent years in my opinion. The materials is something I'm still not a fan of, even on the pictures I can see the strange plastic smooth but not completely smooth rubberish surface and I do not like that at all, however the molds are getting more creative, I love that they're FINALLY doing more stuff with the ears (I'm obssesed with my 2005 Shire mare because one of her ears is listening to the back and I really want the 2012 Camargue mare because her ears are pressed back), I feel like the anatomy is just overall better and just... I dunno, as someone who doesn't like most Schleich horses after like 2012 I really wanna buy some of the 2027 Schleich horses. At least one.

I feel so weird for this opinion though, because everywhere I look everyone still hates the new models so much. I mean sure, they could look WAY better, I'm still waiting for more details like veins and a bit better paintjob, but still. They look geniuely good in my eyes.

Is it just me? Am I going crazy? Or am I not alone in this?

Also, feel free to share your opinions if you're one of the majority that still doesn't like the newer Schleich horse models lol.

all are in good/okay conditions, some have marks/scuffs/rubs, they are not in perfect conditions. please pm me for more pictures. i would not suggest putting them in water/soap as they’ve been previously restored and it would damage the paint, especially the camargue stallion.

Making a jointed wing for my lava dragon

So I personally found that the wings for the Eldrador lava dragon were way too small, and had the most inconvenient mold possible which made it pretty hard to take pictures of this model. Hence I decided to take matters into my own hands and make classic pole-based rotational joints which allow the bones to fold onto eachother.

The biggest hurdle is copying the ball joint at least to a near-perfect extent but hopefully I'll be able to find a different solution.
