Which SD card?

I purchased a Japanese import car that has this dashcam in it. I purchased a SanDisk 64 high availability card and tried that - but it errors. Should I assume that it needs a 32 card? Any help appreciated!

Update: I’ve returned the 64 GB card and am now looking for advice about which card I should buy.

is there an app or open source program to read this card through my phone?

i bought a mini body camera but discovered even removing the card, insert into phone, i can't read it.

pc only. my laptop has a broken screen rn. i do have a universal usb to c cord. so i can take the cable from the kit and plug to adapter to phone.

it's the wrong format to read directly from phone.

Cannot remove or change 4GB partition on Patriot 32gb micro SD card

I've tried the Windows disk manager and MiniTool Partition Wizard Free to no avail. I don't need the data that are on the 4GB partition and am trying to format the entire card as one partition. I'm not getting any errors doing this, but there are no changes.

Any ideas? Thanks

First time dashcam user - SD card recommendations

Hey dashcam community 👋 I’ve just bought a new car that has a dashcam in it. It’s a Japanese imported car and has no manual. What sort of SD card do I need to use? I’ve never had a dashcam before, so I don’t know what I don’t know? Any advice is welcome. Thanks. 🙏

SD cards not recognized..

When will you fix the SD card issues? 8 cams no longer recognize them.

After a few updates ago my cames stop recognizing them. I have done all tech and I believe its in the software updates. I can see others have similar issues. Plus I have called and spoken to Wyze. I was under the belief I was going to get a response later. That never happened.

Query: Is it possible to transfer games from a MicroSD card on death row to a brand new MicroSD card?

So here’s the lowdown: My MicroSD card is done for seemingly, as it lines up with what I’ve read regarding card health (Steam Deck not seeing it as formatted, when it does re-recognize my games, downloads are impossible as they have a Write Error or transfer at a rate of literally 0, etc). So I’ve been planning on getting a USB-C to MicroSD card adapter and a new card to hopefully transfer everything over, but would this work? Would the file manager in desktop mode still be able to recognize everything on the dying card and be able to transfer it to the new card? It’s something that has been on my mind for the past few days, and it would be nice to hear some opinions from others regarding this.

"Bought a new microSD card 16 hours ago. It already had songs on it, then almost corrupted itself. Keep or replace?"

Need advice about a weird microSD card issue.

I bought a brand new (?) 16GB Karbonn microSD card around 15–16 hours ago for about ₹600. When I inserted it, it already had random Hindi songs and music videos on it, which was suspicious.

After deleting those files, the card initially seemed fine. Then I copied around 7–8GB of my own data onto it, including some very important personal files. After that, things started getting weird:

- "Couldn't move to SD card" errors

- Couldn't delete files from the card

- Couldn't create new folders

- Large files wouldn't move properly

- Some copied files became unreadable

- The card behaved almost like it was stuck in read-only mode

I managed to rescue most of my important files by copying them back to internal storage. After that I formatted the SD card.

Now the card suddenly seems normal again:

- Shows ~17GB capacity

- Small files can be copied and deleted

- New folders can be created

My questions:

  1. Does this sound like file system corruption or a failing SD card?

  2. Could my phone have caused the card to go read-only?

  3. Would you trust this card with important data again?

  4. Since it's less than a day old, should I try to get it exchanged anyway?

Any advice would be appreciated because I'm not sure if the card is actually fixed or just waiting to fail again.

Issue with 128GB MicroSD card showing "Empty folder" when ~70% full for some folders but not all?

I've got a bit of a predicament, but I'll try to keep it short and sweet.

I've got 6 MKTEL dumb/feature phones that can accept a microSD card. They advertise 32GB maximum size, but I discovered that they can all read a fully filled 128GB sdcard, so they do technically have the ability to work. However, 3 of the 6 phones seem to have a strange issue with the folders.

These devices can read a fully filled 128GB microSD card with no issues:

  • MKTEL 106
  • MKTEL BOOM 2
  • MKTEL/SONORO 3301-1

These devices can read a fully filled 128GB microSD, but there seems to be some issue related to folders:

  • MKTEL B310
  • MKTEL M2023
  • MKTEL EXO

The issue: when the sdcard is becoming full with TV shows and movies, the device is unable to open some folders. The folders copied over first seem to work just fine. But folders copied over after some threshold seem to throw a "Empty folder" message when I try to open them.

What I've tested:

  • It can read a single folder filled to the maximum capacity with 4GB files
  • Files within a "Empty folder" can be copied to a fresh microSD and are able to be seen by the phones fine
  • It seems unrelated to the length of the filenames
  • It seems unrelated to the actual files themselves
  • It seems unrelated to a format issue (tried FAT32 with larger sector size like 128KB)
  • The device's hardware seem to be able to handle it fine

It's a bit of a technical one, but I'm posting to see if anyone in this community has experiences a similar issue, and if they were able to resolve it or identify the issue. My favorite phones out of the 6 are unfortunately also the failing devices, so I'm testing to see if there's any way I can get this working without needing to reduce the memory card size.

Thank you <3
