Got told I’m in a “waiting list” after passing all exams — what does my application status mean?

Hi everyone, from the Philippines ako at nag-apply ako (walk-in) sa isang European company.

“You can wait for now because there are so many applicants. You are in the waiting list, we can’t give you a slot yet. You can go inter-island if you want, or you can wait, but it will take a long time.”

Any advice would really help.

Need Suggestions mga Sir

Back in January I passed my promotional Interview and this Crewing Officer asked me to wait for the interview to get promoted to 3rd Officer or Jr. 3rd. But after I passed the interview and asked for a line up bigla na lang sinabi na walang diretso akto. I'm now onboard as OS-OT which is sinampahan ko kasi naubos pera ko nag asikaso mag BS and exam. Luckily pauwi na 3rd mate dito sa June. Should I email my crewing manager to have the chance or lipat na lang sa ibang company if nag promise ng promotion onboard (big joke)?

Stuck between ETR and ETO

Good evening po

-75 REE Board Rating
-10 Months Work Experience (Owner's Engineer during the construction of a EHV substation, Direct Hire)
-6 Months Work (Offshore Contractor's Engineer during the construction of a EHV substation, Agency)

Balak kopo sana mag self funded since nababasa kopo lately na may bond if ever na cadetship

ETO Cadetship program. How to secure Cadetship w/out working experience ?

Paano po ma secure cadetship?
I am a recent REE.
- Diesel Powerplant OJT
- High board exam rating
- Consistent Deans lister

Aside from academic experience, wala na po talfa akong wok experience. I am currently working on my BT and Seamansbook kasi sabi nila adv daw yun din if naka ready na.

Hindi ko po talaga afford if ako mag babayad sa program, more so nag mamadali po ako kasi medyo matanda naparents ko and ako na magiging breadwinner. Naka land din ba kayo ng ETO Cadetship without working experience? Thanks.

Magsaysay or Far East Maritime (Basic Training course)

Hi guys.

Apprenticeship: I just need suggestions to help my bf

Hello!

First, bare with me and this long post, wala akong masyadong idea how maritime things work but i'll try to explain it base sa kwento ng partner ko.

Yung boyfriend ko is for apprenticeship na dapat last 2022-2023 pa. Hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin siya nakakapag apprenticeship and he said na malaking factor ang pandemic, pagkamatay ng dean nila, and paiba ibang shipboard training officer. I asked kung handle ba ng school nila ang 12 month na shipboard training nila and he said yes. There are times daw, that year, na may mga pumupuntang company sa school nila na hindi sila naiinform, malalaman nila kaso late na.

Year 2024 came, may isang company na inapplyan yung partner ko, nag wait siya ng ilang months for callback then pinag take siya ng trainings na nirerequire nila. While ongoing yung training niya biglang kinancel yung application niya. Bago na daw kasi yung parang head nung inaapplyan niya at pinacancel daw lahat ng line up according sa friend niya na nakapasok sa company na yun.

Then last year meron siyang pinasukan na company na need nila mag work sa office habang naghihintay ng slot para makasampa, he stayed there for months kaso nalaman niya na yung company na yun is hindi daw nagpprovide ng MDSD na need sa school nila, so umalis siya. Never siya nag stop magsend ng applications sa mga company, kaso magrereply once then wala na after.

Then, I think 5 or 6 months ago na nakakalipas, may agency siyang pinag inquire-an na need daw niya mag bayad ng 30k for domestic and 90k for international.

I hope someone na may alam sa ganito can help my boyfriend, and hirap din daw kasi na walang baker.

Maraming salamat! 🤍

mga kupal sa barko

hi! this post is not to create hate. just need to get things off my chest.

it takes a lot of patience and strategy para makisama onboard. being a first time officer (at only female onboard), sinusubukan ko with all my mighty best na hindi pumatol sa kahit sino mang kupal, mapa-senior officer man 'yan o ratings.

MMMA

To all alumni of Mol Magsaysay Maritime Academy, I am an incoming college freshman and so far have passed the entrance exam and interviews of the admission process. However, I am currently hesitating on whether or not I should enroll to MMMA, mainly due to the expensive tuition fees. Even with the SNPL, I find it risky to be around a million pesos in debt with interest—which are not disclosed by MMMA. Especially when employment upon graduation and the promotion to the ranks of an officer is not essentially guaranteed, it would mean that it may roughly take 2 or more years to fully pay my tuition, excluding the 1 year cadetship onboard training. This, of course, are just mere estimates, and it would vary significantly depending on the contract, vessel, company, etc.

However, what's keeping me from fully letting go of the opportunity to study in MMMA is of course because of its direct backing from major global shipping companies which offers priority to MMMA graduates. Basically, the opportunity to secure a stable employment contract with Mitsui O.S.K Lines early on in my career is a major factor that—if all goes well—would set a solid foundation for stability and steady promotion to Captain.

So, to MMMA graduates who see this, how are you all doing in your careers? Your responses are all well appreciated.

Carnival Cruise ship youth staff

Pls give me advice and respect my question.
