is it possible to apply without a degree?

hi, i might sound stupid, but please, help me explain the application process as if i'm five.

i'm really aiming or trying my hardest at the moment to research on how to apply as a seafarer, but i'm having a hard time, as i feel stagnant working in PH land atm.

i would like to know if it's possible to not be a degree holder, and are there companies who hire such? thank you, thank you.

Cruise ship applicant

Hello! 😊 I'm hoping someone can help or provide advice.
I've long dreamed of working on a cruise ship, but I’d like to know the correct application process.
Here are the things I’d like to find out:
• What is the step-by-step process for applying?
• What training and certifications are required?
• What documents are needed?
• How much is the estimated cost from application to deployment?
About me:
4-year Tourism graduate
Valid Philippine passport
Valid NBI Clearance
Former Philippine Army personnel
Has CSR/BPO experience
What position do you think is good for me to apply for based on my experience?
Thank you very much to anyone who responds and shares their experience. This is a big help for me. 🙏

High School Background Check for Top Maritime Schools

This is for those who graduate in our top maritime academies. We can say it is also big 4 ( PMMA, MAAP, NTMA, NSA schools ) which is comparable to current big 4 university wherein students are mostly from well-off background.

There was a time when PMMA graduates are exempted to take PRC examination making them cream of the crop but is not well-knowed due to Manila based private schools and VMA, UC, JBLCF, DMMA. If we're taking the records of their almunus, most of them comes from humble background looking for free education rather than studying in private institutions.

As I've heard, the early batches of MAAP grads are either son of Amosup members or former AFP members due to Admiral Santos.

NTMA early grads are son of those NYK crew. NYK even taking cadets from PMMA before establishing NTMA.

NSA is yearly conducting school - school orientation in high schools around Taguig way back early 2010s or examinations for 1st years college students in JBLMFU and UC. No idea regarding LIMA and DMMA.

I didn't mention PIT due to its exclusivity. Most the graduates are from Leyte or nearby provinces which will happen likely to PMMA-CDO SHS.

MMMA is just established recently but it will likely produce top officers like NTMA due to PMMAers helm.

Maritime education is heavily privatized in our country but only those who study for free raised to the top. We can conclude that these schools: PMMA, MAAP, NTMA, NSA schools (UC, JBLMFU, LIMA, DMMA) in addition of PIT and MMMA will produce the future officers to address the shortage.

So for those one of the fews.

Where did you study before? Private or Public?

Is it science class? K-12 students - which strand?

Achievements during secondary school days?

Did you take class in review center?

How did you know the school/ academy?

Most of the agencies are sourcing their cadets from the maritime schools I mentioned above. No cadetship program for most of Manila based schools.

Ilo-ilo based schools benefits from their strong regional network. PMMA has the best alumni network. MAAP is the top employers choice and aging alumnus are catching up with the PMMA stronghold of ship management positions.

The sad truth was

Rest of the MHEIs without affiliations in agencies are similar to diploma mill schools.

Looking forward on your precious answers.

Recently sumabit ako sa medical because of gallstones. Nagpacheck ako sa Gastro sa UST and the Doctor told me not to remove it yet kasi manageable pa daw in a long run if magchange ng lifestyle.

Paano po ako magkaka covid vaccine card this year?

Hello, Im 18 years old maritime student and I recently passed a cadetship selection sa isang shipping company which requires Covid vaccine card po para sa yellow card na issue ng BOQ. Can I ask lang paano magkaroon neto is there any way? We went to many hospitals and clinics and even DOH po pero sabi ng DOH na 2023 pa daw last nung covid vaccine. Thank you!

PEME Failed / Confirmatory Positive

Good day, I have a question for those who have an idea. Of course my job offer was rescinded after my medical result. Both clinic and company just stated I failed and nothing else have said what to do next. Now I decided to apply for another companies. I got calls left and right for I am overqualified for my position onboard and these companies are interested. Can I take fresh new PEME in the different clinic despite being flagged positive? Thank you

PS. Not everyone will get this. “To those only have the idea” and will reply accordingly. The ones who knew this get it after reading the title.
