Returning player here! Which region has the most active online conquests?

Hey everyone. I'm a returning player who originally played right at launch, but I just started up again last week. I'm having a blast playing around with the Nemesis mechanic.

My main question is exactly what's in the title: which region currently has the most active player base when it comes to online conquests?

Also, a quick piece of advice: do not play this game while high. I hopped on last night wanting to relax, but the Orc interactions and their long-winded threats felt like they dragged on forever. To make it worse, an Olog captain totally creeped the shit out of me with this bizarre, terrifying mix of smiling, laughing, and crying. Crazy mf.

Everyday I grow more heartbroken...

The fact that they made the perfect opponent system. Such a sick name too. The nemesis system is awesome and diverse.

Yet sadly its trademarked and publicly patented, so no other game will ever be able to use it .... Well at least for another 10 years or so....

Hacked Orcs make the late game more fun to play

It's ironic, in the game's lore the main characters (Talion/Celebrimbor) use the enemy (orcs) to fight the enemy (Sauron's orc army) and the same applies to hacked orcs. At first I hated coming across them, but now that I'm level 80, have an OP build (Wrathgiver + Marauder Set Bonus), and all my fortresses are level 1000+, I'm able to beat and recruit them, so they end up being the things keeping the game fun to play for me.

Beating any regular orc, and even Sieges, is too easy after you finish the story and max out. Today I played Sieges for the first time in a while and I beat them twice in 10 minutes or so. It's ridiculous lmao.

But with hacked fortresses it isn't as easy, and I have to be more careful and patient. As of now, all of my assault leaders are hacked orcs, but my goal is to dominate enough of them to make an army of fully hacked orcs and max out on Assault/Defence ratings. Then I will probably stop playing the game for good.

I understand why some may be frustrated with them, but somehow it works with the game's PvP system.

Save File for Getting Returners

I'm looking for a save file of Shadow of War for getting orcs to cheat death. I'm looking for these two things in the save file:

  • No returners
  • Access to captain domination

The closest thing I could find is this save file on the Nexus:

https://www.nexusmods.com/middleearthshadowofwar/mods/63?tab=description

But unfortunately the author does not seem sure if there have been any returners yet in that save. I'm on Steam.

Does anyone have a save file they could share?

Warchief "escapes" before I can reach him

I have his bodyguard mind controlled, he breaks and flees the moment the guy stabs him, as fast as I run, on a caragor, before I get close the mission fails and I can't reach him, is there any way around this?

Question about dominating captains

As I’m levelling up and traveling to different regions, I see that captains also level up higher than me for most of them which means I have to fight them, shame to reduce level, seek them out again to fight and then recruit them. Is there no easier way to do this? I don’t mind doing this some or half the time but I’m at level 18 and most are higher level so I feel like I’m having to do this most of the time.

I build Minas Ithil from Shadow of war in Minetest

Hey guys, I’d like to introduce you to a project I’ve been working on for several years.

From time to time, I play Minetest. It’s basically the same as Minecraft, but completely open source. I love fantasy—especially the universes of J. R. R. Tolkien and The Elder Scrolls.

I set myself the goal of building several well-known cities and landmarks from both universes in one world and connecting them. I work based on images and models, aiming to recreate the locations as accurately as possible, while also incorporating my own ideas, preferences, and interpretations.

I started this project back in 2014, beginning with the Gondorian city of Minas Tirith from The Lord of the Rings. I’ve completed most of it. After that, I wanted to try something different, so I built the Imperial City from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which is also nearly finished.

My latest sub-project is the city of Minas Ithil, recreated based on its depiction in Middle-earth: Shadow of War. As mentioned, I tried to rebuild the buildings and the city itself as faithfully as possible to how it appears in the game, while still adding some of my own elements.

I’m not completely finished with the city yet—there are still some details missing. I’d like to share my progress with you. Here are a few screenshots of Minas Ithil.

I think I broke the game: Instakilled The Hammer of Sauron with ONE HIT right after the cutscene (Shadow of Mordor) Tradução pt-BR (Acho que quebrei o jogo: Matei o Martelo de Sauron com APENAS 1 HIT logo após a cutscene (Shadow of Mordor))

===========================en-US=============================

Hey guys, I think I accidentally discovered a crazy input glitch in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and wanted to share to see if anyone else has ever managed to replicate this.

I just literally one-shot The Hammer of Sauron (one of the main bosses) on Frame 1 of the fight. Here is exactly how it happened:

  1. The Setup: Right before triggering the boss cutscene, my combat streak was full, meaning my sword was glowing yellow and ready for a Combat Execution.
  2. The Habit: I have this weird tic/habit where I keep repeatedly spamming the attack/execution buttons during cutscenes.
  3. The Glitch: I kept mashing the Execution buttons (Triangle+Circle / Y+B) the entire time the Hammer was doing his speech. The exact millisecond the cutscene ended, the game queued my input and executed the move instantly.

Instead of starting the boss fight, Talion just performed a standard execution animation, the Hammer's health bar went straight to zero, and he died on the spot. The game just skipped the entire boss fight.

My theory is that because the execution triggered on Frame 1, the game hadn't fully loaded the boss's immunities or HP scaling yet, treating him as a regular Uruk for a split second.

Has anyone else ever experienced this input-queueing bug in Shadow of Mordor? I've searched everywhere and haven't seen anyone talk about instakilling this specific boss like this!

===========================pt-BR=============================

O jogo simplesmente pulou a boss fight inteira.

Trying to upgrade Wraith armor

Hey there, I'm just getting back into this game again, and running into a familiar wall. Figured I would check here and see what the best way you guys know to kill off your captains when they have Beast Proof (which is most of them at level 50+)? I seem to vaguely remember having a way to reliably do this last time I played, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was.

EDIT: To clarify, for the Ringwraith armor, you have to ressurect captains of various classes. Which means your captains have to die, but can't die in the arena or by being decapitated(which most finishers will do). The easiest way to do this is by summoning a graug to beat them to death, since for whatever reason they won't turn on you if they're damaged by you riding a graug. However, if they have beast proof or beast slayer, this won't work.

Az-Gang is BUILT

Training my first necromancer was an interesting experience. Used the Green Eyed Captain glitch to get this guy as a captain and he spawned in already with the cursed skin and weapon. Thought I'd give training him a shot.

He got his first three immunities pretty easily but became unbelievably stubborn when I tried to get poison or fire proof on him fourth. Ended up having to give him frost proof, then get poison proof, shame off frost and go for fire. That was a whirlwind and very roundabout method of achieving what I wanted.

Tried early on to give him his flamethrower and it was a similar story of stubbornness. Wouldn't take it, so I went back to curse and got Necromancer on him.

When he got to his 7 immunities, I reached out on here for advice on Epic Traits - He's got TS and GS. Got some great insights and some good help from a few people on here so a massive thank you to them.

While going for Tremor, I thought I'd take another shot at getting his flamethrower. Wouldn't you know it, he picked that up before getting Tremor. I'm fully convinced this guy wanted to get on every one of my nerves!

Having both (making 8 bonuses), I gave him back his curse weapon and went for Necromancer again.

So now, I'm pleased to present my 7149 Midnight Necro Olog. He's effectively 7049, since his enrage is Morgai Flies. Very happy with this guy.

Just finished the main story and ran to play blade of galadriel but it's 15€ on playstation, desolation of mordor even more. Are they worth the purchase? I thought they were included with the base game...
