10 days apart
I had posted the video on the left on May 10th but took it down. Some folks had really helpful advice and tips so I really appreciate everyone that commented!
I did try my best to implement the feedback y’all gave as well as watch the videos that were recommended and I think I’m doing better.
Zero dance background I’ve been practicing this since the first week of May.
The main thing I’m noticing is I’m not really sure what to do with my arms, but I’m slowly figuring it out. Any feedback and constructive criticism on the right hand side video is so appreciated!
I do have a workshop this weekend where we’ll be learning the running man (the only one I’ve practiced), X step, micro bounce, and T step!
Finally got up the nerve to dance outside and it was scary lol!
And it was also just freestyle too! I was soooo nervous being nervous to put myself out there in real life where people were walking by to see lol 😂
Shuffle dance with (light) back issues?
Hello people,
I am interested in trying shuffle. BUT. I currently have a (light) injury in my back due to the gym. I do another dance, and it doesn't affect my back. However, I see in videos that you guys basically hit the ground with your feet 130~140 times per minute, which I fear may be more dangerous for my back right now than my other dance.
Is it the case?
Sacramento EDM Collective's meetup highlight for MAY.
Its actually two 26” rings put together
Breaks apart into a red and blue hoop, and the rivets are aligned so you can connect them into this huge thing
Back at it again, busting out shuffle dance moves, just sticking to the basics here, not doing anything too special. 🕺🏿

Need help finding a structured free online tutorials with structured progression for complete beginner
Always looked at shuffle dancing as something that seems cool and I'll never be able do, but now I finally have the motivation to at least give it a good try. So as a complete beginner I'd like to start from the very basics.
Ideally, I would like to find a free online course maybe on youtube that has a well defined structure with beginner intermediate advanced or level 1 2 3 so on. and each module has specific lessons like "hi today learn this tomorrow learn another thing" and the tutorials are technically in depth and has emphasis on having good technique and fundamentals and slowly working up from there.
Just not entirely sure where to find that kind of thing though, A little help plz?

Choreo from class today!
I don’t have any teachers here that do shuffle or cutting shapes classes and I don’t know any people who shuffle in my city either. I’ve been trying to learn for the last 2.5 years by watching online tutorials and copying other choreo from other dancers just to learn new combos and technique etc. But I have been feeling kind of stuck at the same basic level for so long. I know I can do better and I have the desire to improve so I finally joined an online workshop that one my fav dancers hosts each month.
And I wish I would have done this sooner! Having someone be able to answer questions live and physically show me little nuances or help me troubleshoot things has been an absolute game changer.
Today’s class was a choreo that the teacher put together with all the different elements she has been teaching the past few weeks just to help solidify what we’ve learned.
I didn’t have a lot of time to practice after the class but at least I’ve got the steps down and even though I danced to a different song than what the choreo was intended for, this one worked perfect for me haha!
I still need to get my upper body and arms more involved so I’ll work on that as I continue to practice tomorrow.
