1:6 custom lightsaber upgrades
I just got my first Star Wars Hot Toy, MMS749 2.0 Darth Maul with Sith Speeder; and preordered the new Qui-Gon Jinn. I’ve seen stuff about people upgrading to 3rd party/custom lightsabers and I had some questions: is it really worth it to upgrade the lightsabers?? What about then is better?? Are they just brighter, or is there something about the way they light up that makes them look more realistic?? And then what company makes the best ones (for the figures I specifically have, or in general)??

I have both figures, Inart one is absolutely stunning, but to me, there is one thing hot toys does better, it's the side profil of the mask/face, it looks fantastic !

I am new to the hobby but have a little money to spend, looking for advice on what to expect on new releases/tips on saving money or finding good deals/new to figures in general so could use opinions on the various sizes
Hey so I've got a handful of Sideshow figurines I'm looking at (upcoming Premium for Cyclops/Jubilee and also Carnage/Venom/Cable/Riddler/Spider-Man Jan 24. Also a couple Iron Studios 1/4 and 1/10) and was curious what collecting for the hobby is like. some questions:
A lot of waitlist options for already released statues, are these Hail Marys or are they remade frequently enough?
I am a bit predictable, I'd like the best ones out there for X-Men and Batman mostly but open to good looking ASM statues. Open to all recommendations
I'd love to collect premium format across the board for X-Men and see this Cyclops/Jubilee line being what I'd want, however they are obviously a bit expensive so I'd like to know more. Is there a 90s premium line being made? Who has already been made/have they announced more?
Again new to the hobby so any recs/warnings about statue makers/where to buy/how prices usually fluctuate and what sensible used prices are in your opinion.

A painful reminder that rewards expire...
Hi All, this is just a quick reminder that, yes, rewards do expire.
I had been saving up a BIG chunk of points to put towards the Hot Toys ROTS Deluxe Vader.... work got busy and I forgot to check and basically lost half my points at the beginning of May. Ugh. 100% my fault but things do slip through the cracks when life gets busy.
Just a reminder to all my fellow collectors... keep up with your points and don't ignore those emails. Don’t want this to happen to anybody else.

Building a marketplace just for action figures and comics — would you actually use it?
eBay and Mercari are built for general resale and the experience for collectors is rough. Pre-launch on a marketplace specifically for action figures and comics:
- Real filters (scale, line, sealed/loose, grade)
- Lower fees than eBay
- Verified collector profiles
Just trying to gut-check before I keep building. If you collect what would actually pull you off eBay? And what would make you not even consider it?
